Good location and friendly staff

The property was in a good location. Nice reception area and friendly staff.

The lighting in the rooms was very bad. We almost needed a torch to see. We didn’t like the bathroom set up at all with the wash basin being outside the bathroom and to put the light on for the bathroom during the night lit up the whole bedroom. Also the door to the toilet and shower was really heavy and hard to close. Because of these problems we would not stay again even though the rest of the hotel was fine.

Really great place, would highly recommend

The location was by far the best part. Super central, especially if you are there on a Beatles voyage like me and my lady were. Staff was absolutely wonderful and the building was gorgeous. Would highly recommend.

The sink was a little clogged, and it would take a really long time to drain. But we didn't submit a work request or anything, so I can't really blame them, as they couldn't have known. No worries at all.

Would stay again!

Really enjoyed the historical bones of the property and the room was spacious for a city centre hotel. We requested a quiet room and they gave us one which was great.

Our sliding door to the bathroom was broken. Which wasn’t ideal but for 1 night it was okay.

Excellent hotel still and maybe it is just me regarding the pillows!

Even if everything else is right - if your hotel cant offer a good nights sleep, what is the point in booking a room the

Great breakfast in attractive surroundings and comfortable beds

A bright green ‘interrogation’ light above door in the bedroom kept me awake most of the night and couldn’t be switched off - i had to build a barricades of pillows to try and make enough darkness to sleep. They had thoughtlessly put a high wattage bulb in a night light … also there was a bad whiff of pee from the the carpet in the downstairs lobby of the basement rooms near the lifts!!!

Rude staff member on reception, who informed us that the full breakfast we had paid in full for wasn’t available and was being replaced with continental, when asked if we could be refunded the breakfast costs we were told no. room was freezing, fridge didn’t work, tv kept switching itself off.

Great location and appearance, poor breakfast and no cocktail ingredients.

The location was a couple of minutes away from Liverpool One and not far from the Christmas Markets. The NCP parking was close to the hotel and was discounted to £15 for 24 hours. The hotel was aesthetically pleasing and clean. The room was a decent size and all amenities.

We only found out the following morning on a sign that the breakfasts were only continental due to some issue. The coffee machines worked intermittently and not a nice taste. Not particularly happy with the breakfast and ended up at Costa for a decent coffee. Also they advertise offers on cocktails yet when we went to the bar we were told they couldn't make us cocktails as they had no ingredients to make them. Again very disappointing. Seemed things were just falling apart and poorly managed.

No soap/hand wash upon arrival, no water available, TV didn’t work and needed staff to resolve, no privacy in the room as it was visible from the street, loud music from the bar late at night.

Superb building, great remodel . Good location.

Some maintenance was lacking. 1). Light on right hand side of bed didn't work (new bulb needed?). I was told that nobody would be able to fix it during our stay. 2). TV didn't work. The Aloft symbol came on but so did the 'no signal' warning. 3). The desk lamp seemed to be short circuiting. 4). Only two tissues left in the large tissue box when we arrived. 5). The three wall dispensers on the wall of the shower enclosure consisted of two shampoos and one conditioner, no shower gel. 6). No hot breakfast available as kitchen was being refurbished.

The room was t big enough for 3 beds. The other room with the two beds should have had the third bed in it as it was bigger. There wasn’t 3 mugs in room, shower gel wasn’t filled up. Not enough towels ….

The location of the room is very convenient and the rooms are spacious.

The room was too dark, not enough lighting. Also, the breakfast could be improved - better quality and variety. Bathroom could be cleaner too especially the shower and the sink kept flooding with water.

Comfy, clean, central hotel with lovely breakfast.

The card system to access rooms was down. Despite this staff were excellent in accompanying us to rooms when we required access. They never complained or looked fed up or frustrated with this. Well done to the front desk staff.

Having a key that worked but it couldn't be helped as the whole system was down for the duration of our stay.
