10/10 - one of my favourite B&B's of all time!

Lovely hosts and amazing breakfast, all homemade with lots of choice. Cheese from local farms and always served with a funny story about the cheese or cheesemaker. Very nice couple who helped us with bus tickets and general directions and advice for making the most of Ghent. I travelled with my 2 kids (13 and 10) and the room was more like an apartment. Very cosy and nice views over the garden. Would definitely return!

It was all really nice and high quality. However, you aren't in the middle of town but you could walk there at a push and there is a bus nearby..Easy parking too and I was happy to not move my car for the whole stay and just walk and take the bus. Other than location (which I knew when I booked), it was perfect ♡

A very enjoyable bed and breakfast.

Host were super friendly and have knowledgeable about the local area. The location is pretty good if you have a vehicle. The best breakfast I have ever had at a bed and breakfast.

Not much to complain about. The only issue would be if you do not have a vehicle, public transit to the city can be a little expensive (3 euro each way).

A beautiful house full of character, warm and comfortable. As others have pointed out, an exceptional breakfast service with wonderful food. Friendly helpful hosts.

One small item: While it was possible to use the coffee maker to get boiling water, a separate electric kettle would have been useful.

Highly recommend!

We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Emma. The surroundings are peaceful and picturesque, offering a perfect retreat. What amazed us was the convenience—it took us only about ten minutes to get to the downtown area by bus. Best of all, the host was exceptional. They were so welcoming and attentive, giving us great local tips and making sure we had everything we needed. We felt truly well taken care of.

We had a pleasant stay in this beautiful house. The room was clean, recently renovated, and the hosts were exceptionally kind and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent, and free parking is available. The location is convenient — just 15 minutes to the parking area in Ghent or 15 minutes by bike.

it’s important to note that the toilet and shower are located on the upper level of the room and can only be accessed via a steep and narrow spiral staircase. This is not clearly stated in the property description and was a significant inconvenience for us. Climbing such stairs in the dark at night to use the bathroom was quite challenging. Future guests should be made aware of this in advance.

Lovely place that feels like 'home', only a short distance from Ghent

Lovely stay with lots of personal touches from the hosts i.e. candy left on our pillows, superb breakfast presented beautifully, our room was incredibly well-equipped with a super complete minibar and everything else we could possibly need, we also loved the books/pens provided to keep our toddler busy! This really felt like being 'at home' :-)

The rooms felt quite cold at night (the heating turns off automatically, as we heard from the hosts). This would not have been an issue for me and my husband as we stayed well covered under the duvet but this was not possible to control for our 2-year-old son. He already had a bit of a cold when we arrived at the property and the low temperature in his room made things worse. I believe the hosts would have accommodated if I had let them know in advance, unfortunately I realised the issue too late.

Amazing villa with a beautiful garden

This lovely family owned B&B is a perfect hideaway with an amazing garden surrounding this villa. Our host were very kind and the special breakfast was an excellent surprise for Easter :) The area and location is also very lovely.

Quirky room in a beautiful house with lovely hosts.

The house is a fabulous late Victorian era (in the UK it would be, I don't know what era that is in Belgium!?!) villa set in beautiful grounds. We had the Acacia room, it was lovely and clean and nicely decorated, with a sitting area with a couple of armchairs and a separate bedroom off this with a spiral staircase up to the ensuite. The double bed was big, (super kingsize I think), and there was a single bed on a mezzanine in the turret above the sitting area which is fun, but a little precarious to climb up, so not suitable for very young kids or elderly people. Georges and Hilda are lovely hosts and the breakfasts were fantastic, homemade bread, apple pie, yoghurt, pastries, cheese, charcuterie, eggs, bacon - we didn't need lunch. Hilda explained the buses, and it was easy to get in to the center of Ghent and back, on the no.10 bus from a nearby bus stop. It was a lovely peaceful location and the garden was beautiful with plenty of wildlife to watch - brown squirrels, ducks and birds.

not suitable for older guests four flights to bedroom , very narrow spiral staircase to toilet/wash room Shower was based on wet room but did not drain away. Be prepared to be pressed into contributing towards your carbon footprint (it is an option) at the end of your stay, this should be included in the promotional material or when booking is made

The building was very nice, I loved the room we had. The view, atmosphere and facilities were excellent. Room size was very comfortable. The bed in the top of the tower is ideal for a child.

Special bed and breakfast with all the right touches. I could not imagine staying in a boring hotel after one night at this place. An extra bonus for me was how comfortable the bed was and how much effort was put into breakfast. The hosts were very nice and accommodating as well. Just lovely!

Beautiful villa surrounded by greenery

The b&b is spectacular. It's situated in a very quiet area of the town, and surrounded by a huge garden that includes a small pond. We found it super peaceful here. The villa itself is stunning - high ceilings, embellishments, tons of charm. There was a lot of space in our room, that was actually 2 rooms. In the main room, there was also a sitting area, where we could drink a beer and chat or even enjoy a takeaway. The breakfast was very tasty and included home made bread, cake, jams, jellies, compotes, etc. as well as local cheeses and meats.

We only booked one night and wished we booked more!

Beautiful house in residential area near historic center of Ghent. Hosts were extremely friendly and made us feel very comfortable in their home. Nice people! Room was very comfortable and clean. Unique setup with bath and shower up circular staircase. Awesome breakfast.

More enjoyable than staying in a city centre hotel

Beautiful house and gardens in quiet suburbs, but within easy reach of city centre, either by bikes rented from the Villa or nearby bus. The owners were very knowledgeable about their city and had a wealth of information ready to pass on when we arrived. The rooms were spacious with a very comfortable bed and adjoining sitting room and the breakfast was locally sourced and delicious.

The very stylish bathroom in the attic is accessed by a steep spiral staircase, so not suitable for all.

Perfekt für den Besuch von Gent oder zur Entspannung im parkähnlichem Garten.

Sehr schön gelegene Villa mit großem Garten und altem Baumbestand, der schon alleine eine Sehenswürdigkeit ist. Georges und Hilde verwöhnen mit einem reichhaltigen Frühstück mit lokalen Bio-Produkten und hausgemachten Marmeladen, alles liebevoll angerichtet. Das B&B liegt absolut ruhig aber nicht weit vom Zentrum (10 Minuten mit dem Fahrrad, das an der Unterkunft geliehen werden kann) oder per Bus Nr. 10, dessen Haltestelle etwa 5 Minuten entfernt ist. Die Unterkunft hat ein "greel label" und bietet den Gästen die Möglichkeit, die klimaschädlichen Nebenwirkungen des Reisens zu kompensieren. Interessant ist auch der Garten mit zahlreichen Pflanzen, die auf dem "Genter Altar" abgebildet sind, und zu denen per QR-Code Informationen abgerufen werden können. Alles ist sehr gepflegt und lädt zu einem entspannenden Aufenthalt ein.
