My wife and I stayed in Varenna for 4 nights. Paolo and Fabio were fantastic hosts. We had an early issue getting into the apartment (our issue, not theirs) and they were so helpful in getting it sorted. The location of the apartment is amazing. It is close to the train station and the ferry terminal and it has the most brilliant views. The apartment itself is spacious and comes with all the amenities you could reasonably expect. We could not have enjoyed the place more than we did.

-This was not the apartment shown in the photos (only the last 3 pictures on booking.com with brown furniture are of this apartment; the other photos show a completely different flat)
-No terrace
-Only very basic equipment in the kitchen and bathroom
-Very weak Wi-Fi in the kitchen (none at all in the bedroom)
-Old, broken hairdryer unusable (plug held together with tape)
-Very cold in the apartment in the evenings and at night
-We were never able to open the gate with the provided key and had to use the large car entrance instead
-Check-in time listed on booking.com was 14:00, but the owner stated it was only possible from 15:00
-Early check-out time (10:00)
-Only very basic toiletries provided in the bathroom
