Simple and easy.

Central location for the being in centro. Clean room and bathrooms, and super awesome staff.

Room is a bit small and the air con wasn’t massively effective. A bit noisy but not surprising given the location.

Exactly what we needed

It was straightforward- nothing swanky but had everything necessary, comfortable bed, hot water, all v clean and pleasant welcoming staff

Our only criticism was the advice given to us by the lady on the desk when we asked for best way to get to Florence airport. She may have been right that the only way was to go back into Florence and take the tram. However she told us there were very regular trains from Prato to Florence and that the journey took just 20 minutes by train. As it turned out if we had not (thankfully) caught the one we did we would have waited over an hour for the next train and it took over half an hour on the train. I think it would be helpful if the staff there had precise information that they could share about this. (Up to date train/bus timetables etc). We find it hard to believe that Prato doesn’t provide an easy bus route to the airport. We had stayed in Prato that night instead of Florence precisely because we thought it would be easier and quicker to get to the airport from there! As it was we had to return to Florence. All the same it was a great experience to visit Prato, especially the duomo.

I really enjoyed staying here and will be back when I return to Florence.

I really enjoyed how the location of the hotel. It was about a 7 minute walk to the train station, with easy access to Florence via 20 minute train. The city of Prato offers an escape from the busy city of Florence. The hotel was very clean, and the staff were very kind.

Very good

simple and clean hotel . Though it’s not in Florence itself but train station from the hotel was easy excess (10mins walk Prato station . Hotel surrounding very safe with local people . There are also Halal shop just 3 mins walk ( Chicken Taste the shop name ) which is cheap and good . Hotel staff very friendly . Breakfast was consider good with the price we paid . €5 per person . Thank u San Marco .

A Surprise Find in Prato

Prato is not considered a tourist location especially when surrounded by the hot tourist locations of Florence, Lucca, Pisa etc. so finding a hotel as good as the San Marco in this somewhat 'out of the way' location was both a pleasant surprise and a bonus. The hotel is in a good location and easily accessible by public bus from the railway station. The rooms are excellent, very big, with good desk space and storage (wardrobes, drawers etc). The bathroom was very spacious with a good sized walk in shower and good sized basin. The room had a good AC unit which was very sufficient. Although there is no restaurant for evening meals the breakfast was excellent. Good quality fresh food. Overall the Hotel San Marco is a very good hotel and if you factor in the price it is a great hotel.
