Good value hotel

No thrills cheap hotel. Does exactly what you need to do. It has a bed, toilet, sink and shower. Is very competitively priced for the area (from £45 per night). Couldn’t hear any noise from neighbouring rooms

Great communication staff where excellent and helpful with the initial issue we had with one of the rooms given

The surrounding area immediately outside was littered with broken cars which had there for a while and not kept well at all… the initial room smelled of marijuana tho clean …. The staff were excellent in addressing as well as helping with taxis and local knowledge…. A credit to the company

Good location, breakfast was adequate.

Dirty run down. Scrap,abandoned cars in car park. The main car park is tiny so you park in unsecured area with no lights and loads of broken glass. Room was like a prison cell with metal bunk bed. Dirty corridors with stains on the wall and Dirty smell. Police were there when I was leaving as they were kicking some homeless out....avoid at all costs...

Sink in the room, not in a bathroom! Toilet was like in a cupboard/closed in cubicle. Ridiculous situation where the kettle is - as had to stretch up to top shelf to get it. Other than one small plastic stool, there wasn't a chair. Very tired.

The staff were very good especially “Brian” aka Helen. Nothing to much, very friendly especially as we were travelling with children.

Location was a little out of the way in as far as restaurants, bars etc as the hotel doesn’t have these facilities.

Pay for what you get.

Location/staff and value for money. Parking was limited, but safe to park. The room was pleasant and the bed was comfortable. It was a pleasant stay taking away the dislikes.

Hairs inside the bed and the whole room needed vacuuming throughout including the toilet. Found dog hairs. Breakfast choice was limited, staff were slow to top up on areas most needed.

Issue with main entrance door being locked at night. Which is for security which I get. But the card swipe does not work and u have to rely on someone being on the desk all time, which obviously they can’t be. Apart from that. Everything was spot on

Receptionist was lovely. Room was perfect for what we needed. Bed, bathroom, mirrors, aircon and tv. There’s loads of free parking and a lift up to the rooms. Clean and comfortable. Close to a Tesco express, icecream shop and Dominos just 5min drive up the road. Perfect location for the ICC the next morning. Would stay again.

One pillow each wasn’t ideal but we had a spare in the car so it wasn’t a huge issue in the end

Absolutely blown away by the experience- much more than expected

I was very impress with the hotel considering its status as a budget hotel. The rooms had absolutely everything you could need and every single member of staff went above and beyond to make you feel welcome and accommodate your every need where possible. Each staff member felt like a friend rather than a member of staff. Even though I didn’t realise the breakfast was continental I was more than happy with the choice and quality of what was offered.

Stayed in better/cleaner hostels

Location was OK. 25 minutes from Cardiff went to a concert in Cardiff, so it was easy to transfer to and from. Staff on arrival very pleasant and accommodating. Greeted with a smile.

The rooms were very basic, which we expected as it was a budget hotel but splashes of yellow/orange matter noted on both sides of the toilet wall, What can only be described as vomit were not expected !! I have stated in better hostels. Would definitely not recommend it for a family trip. Area surrounding hotel very dirty.

Alternative to Cardiff for gigs.

We stayed here to go to a gig at the Principality Stadium as hotels in Cardiff had hiked prices to over double usual rates. The taxi from Newport train station was less than £10. The hotel was clean and had basic facilities, including tea and coffee in the room. There was air-conditioning too, which we didn't realise until day 2 of our stay.

You can hear the motorway with the window open. This may disturb the sleep of some people. We are fairly used to road noise, so it wasn't an issue for us.

We payed before we got there, then to be told booking.com didn't send it to the hotel had to get it refunded so that was not the best start, for a budget hotel you get what u pay for, however they also took the decision to be opportunistic and raise prices because of oasis gig so it was not "budget" 1 spare toilet roll in the room, bathroom was tiny, no plugs near the bed, weird smell at the reception that really stuck in the throat

No sleep

Clean bed. Handy location.

Stuffy rooms with stained carpets. Bright light just outside the room with curtains that didn't block the light. Our room was linked to the adjoining room with no soundproofing on the separating door, so when the neighbours pitched up at 2am, it like they were talking and then snoring in our room.

Lavatory in a broom cupboard

Easy to find and get to . The room was cleaned every day and clean towels and bed made every day The lighting was good the shower was lovely the safety aspect of the window opening was good .and where the weather was so hot the air conditioning unit was a blessing at night . .

I didn't like the fact of the lavatory being very low compared to a normal sized toilet, and I felt that the toilet was put into a broom cupboard. The bed was a very thin mattress with a topper on top, which slipped every night.

Very small room, the shower door opened directly into the main room. Fortunately I was staying alone, wouldn't want to share with a friend in that room.
