The staff is helpful, accommodating and friendly. There are lifts, good facilities. Room is clean.

The location was a bit difficult to find. Uber drivers often dropped us off about a block away from the hotel, which meant walking, sometimes in the rain, especially challenging when we first arrived with large luggage. The view from the family room was acceptable, though the surrounding buildings had noticeable vandalism and graffiti, making the area look a bit dodgy but it wasn’t. The location wasn’t what I expected. Despite the name suggesting it’s in the city center, it doesn’t really feel like a central city area and appears to be about three train stations away from the main city.

The air system they have runs all night, and you can’t turn it off. In my case, it was difficult to sleep because of the noise, but it’s something personal. The kitchen and the number of tables felt insufficient for the number of guests the place can host.

Good for a stopover

The cleanliness of rooms. The rooms were actually very big. The best part was that itvwas The very few places which offered 24 hour check in. Especially since I already had a late flight and it got further delayed. But check in experience was hassle free.

The staff and management of this hotel went above and beyond for me and my family. There was a problem that couldn't be resolved until the next day. However, the hotel still accommodated us. Our appreciation goes beyond words. We loved the spacious family room, the quirky but modern decor. The staff were lovely and made our stay comfortable.

There is a lot of road works around the area, and it is not easy to access the hotel (even with the uber). The hostel is ok, a bit old and damaged in some aspects, but what I found the worst was that in the morning (2 hours before the check out) that was people trying to come inside the room, and some of them really managed to enter (maybe cleaning staff) while I was still in the bed.

Fantastic funky, friendly hotel in a great location.

We loved our stay in the Meininger. The staff were always helpful and cheerful, everything was clean and well-run. It was great to have use of a kitchen to prepare our own food and drinks. Equally we loved the bar area - so well designed, with a cool, industrial vibe - and hung out there at the end of the day, playing pool and drinking Belgian beer! The location is fantastic, easy walking distance to the centre. Would definitely recommend.

The only niggle was the lack of control over room temperature. You can’t open the windows and a constant temperature of - I think - 22 degrees C is maintained. Most of our group found this too warm overnight in a room of 6.

Amazing location and standard!

Amazing place to stay, room was really clean and modern. Every day we got clean towels which isn't very often in hostels. Place also has a bar and cafe so you can spent time there and meet amazing people.

Decent stay for young travellers and families

A great hotel for young travellers. Family-friendly too - my daughter loved little the play area. The shared kitchen was clean and convenient. Beds were comfy. Location was ok. About 20 mins walk from the city centre, there's a tram stop very close by.

The water temperature. It kept fluctuation between hot and cold on its own while we showered, which is quite dangerous. Would have been nice to have tea and coffee facilities in the room. I feel it's a basic courtesy.

Very clean, friendly staff. Great Wi-Fi and amenities. Was great for a family stay, nice to have available parking right there.

The breakfast was not great, not good value for the cost. The pub was so loud with techno music you couldn’t sit and have a drink and conversation.

A pleasant surprise

Amazing stay. Nice structure, bar, and other amenities. Not far from Grand-Place, and really close to tram station. I ordered the breakfast for a day, and it was a pleasant surprise how good it was! Rooms are huge!

Lockers in the room were not locking properly. I thought it was me in the beginning, but then the others in the room mentioned the same.

room was great and clean, also it was huge and fresh, the beds are comfortable enough for sleeping well and you also have a place to put your stuff but you have to bring your own key and lock

the bar was too loud and sometimes it not allows you to sleep in the middle of the night
