2 friends on an overnight stay enroute to the UK from Italy

Lovely quiet location on a nature reserve with ample free parking and plenty of walks around the reserve in amongst the lakes off the Rhine river. Good size rooms with big windows and full length sutters to keep the heat out when it's hot. Good breakfast and indoor/outdoor dining spaces. We had the evening buffet with good salad options

A vegetarian option on the buffet would be good - there was only a meat grill to go with the salad & potatoes

Perfect of-road stay at the lake!

We were looking for a comfortable and quite place ( allowing a small dog ) and it’s exactly what we got! Easy parking, dinner at the terrace with lake-view, a spacious room and an abundant breakfast. Last but not least: very friendly welcome and friendly hotelcrew!

Short stay during my travel

Nice located, big room, breakfast was fine, nice people at reception- big plus that they speak English

Food in restaurant was horrible- expensive and not tasty. If you order tagiatelle aglio olio you will get overcooked dry pasta with one cherry tomato, two pieces of dry zuccini and you will pay for that €18- hudge mistake, does the chef know how to make aglio olio? If not, why it's in menu and why a little bit of pasta with some spices is sooo expensive? It's a really big missunderstanding.

Beautiful for a confortable stay

We love this hotel where we come for the second time (and a special thanks to Mr. Wonerow who gave us the same room as the first time - we appreciate that) : The rooms are big, confortable and with a beautiful view on the small lake and nature. It’s perfect for a long stay and a visit of the surroundings.

We were disappointed with breakfast : Poor, compared to other hotels of this category in Germany. One coffee machine for all the guest is not enough. And there was a lack of staff ; only one waiter ! the ingredients were not replenished ! Sad, but considering the overall, we’ll come back.

Clean rooms, friendly staff, pet friendly

I was able to stay there in a comfortable room with my dogs. The room was large (free upgrade to comfort room) and clean! Staff was helpfull and responded quickly. It was quiet and I would stay there again when I’m traveling through Mannheim.

There were no garden rooms at all, which would have been nice seen the location and pet allowance. The room service was only available till 20.00 and card was limited/no good snacks. No coffee or tea maker in room.

It was good overall, only the restaurant could improve

The location was fine , we were breaking a journey so could not enjoy it properly. Breakfast was good.

Dinner had a not great menu, a lot of meat, not economical and we waited for a long time to make and receive our order.Staff were nice but very slow.

Too hot with no facilities to cool the room. Breakfast was basic. Noisy parties couldn’t keep windows open to cool the room.

Be warned, more a wedding venue than a hotel

I have no criticism of the fabric of the hotel, or the staff, who were pleasant and as helpful as they could be.

Potential bookers should be aware that this is a very popular wedding venue. The weddings can and do go on all night, with loud thumping music etc. We were upgraded to a Comfort room upon checking in, as clearly they knew we were not going to get much sleep. Luckily, the loud partying only went on until 2am, but the room itself was also incredibly hot. So, a lousy night's sleep was had by all. A shame really, as in all other aspects it could be a nice hotel. Bookers.com really should have a filter option to guard against such experiences.

Good for a night but no idea what would you do there

location of the hotel, close by water (sort of lake) remote and green so we could relax. Still it was relatively easy to reach it from the highway. Just keep in mind it is in a vacation park area with campings and little and big vacation homes / caravans / sheds / all sorts of‘vacation homes’

Hotel is a bit outdated, I guess it had its best times 20 years ago. It’s clean and well maintained but it had its best years long time ago. Restaurant menu and quality was disappointing and the service was… different than what I am used to. Wine bottle was just left unopened on the table. Breakfast was OK-ish but just basic, jams were good :) Also the place is really oriented for local people and other Germans. The whole area and surrounding and the hotel are saying: Germans only! Nothing with this- they target specific customers Temperature was 38 degrees and they don’t have airco!!!

The bathroom was enormous but there was not enough room (shelves, table or cabinet) space to leave your stuff. There was a bath but the shower was mounted very low and was not adjustable.

Very bad experience

The breakfast was okay

We booked this hotel based on the reviews about the quietness as we were on the road back to home. When we arrived after a long car trip with our 2 year old daughter the room was not ready. Check in was from 14.00, we could enter the room at 16.00 o’clock. The reason was 2 organized weddings the day before. The suggestion was to wait in the lobby. No other offerings. When we entered the lobby we saw that there was one other wedding and 4 birthday parties organized that evening. It felt really like we were entering an event location. The noise from the wedding was very loud until 2.30 in the night, even with earplugs and closed windows you heared everything. There was no airco in the room and felt like a ‘sauna’ because of 30 degrees temperature that day. Also no communication beforehand about the scheduled events. Overall a very bad experience and not expected after reading all those positive reviews.

Nothing

The staff does not wear mask but ask you to wear it. Unfriendly personal. I arrived in the evening, no lighting in the parking. Even though It is a big hotel, no staff to welcome you in the evening. A staff member asked me my covid certification while I was heading in the restaurant for breakfast!! Almost nothing in the buffet. A disappointing stay, unfriendly staff.
