Does the job at good price, but monkeys are a real problem

Excellent place to stay in Ubud

The location was perfect for all the amenities in the town and an easy walk to the Sacred Monkey Forest. Our room was beautifully made up and very clean. It was a bonus to have a kettle and fridge with a selection of coffee/tea The swimming pool is beautiful and clean The staff were all friendly and helpful.

You have to be careful as monkeys can steal things from your terrace so that stops being able to dry clothes outside.

Tales of the monkey hotel

The amazing views and the monkeys! Yes the steps were many but no pain no gain. The staff were above caring. The amount they helped in areas that i never thought were possible was exceptional.

Staff were friendly, great location, hotel is beautifully aesthetic

1) the sheets were filthy, one stain even looked like blood. I had to ask them to replace the sheets and they did, however these sheets shouldn’t have been used in the first place 2) the pool wasn’t super clean, I’m unsure if I went in at a bad time, but I had to fish out and extremely dead frog and there were a lot of dead flies and leaves floating about 3) at random points through the day there would be no water as the pressure was so low 4) there were random signs and broken handles left in the draws in my room 5) to lock the room door, it was a huge padlock with a key which is a faff to deal with in the dark 6) there was about a one inch gap in the door when locked, that you could easily see through straight onto the bed. As a solo female traveller this wasn’t ideal so I had to stack my suitcase and bags infront of the door each night 7) the aircon was rubbish, luckily was fine for me however if you’re in the room in Balis hot season it will definitely be a sweat box 8) the bath had a big green (assuming limescale) stain in it where the water has dripped over time and not been cleaned 9) the mosquito net around the bed (which in principle is a nice added touch) had all sorts of yellow stains on it, dread to think what they are

Luxury for a budget price in a top location.

Ubud terrace is an oasis of tranquility and beauty in crazy traffic busy Ubud. Once past the reception you step into a different world. The pool is lovely the gardens precious and all the different buildings beautiful well maintained and kept up to date. Rooms have everything you need and each on has either a terrace or a spacious balcony with beautiful views. Everything in Ubud is within walking distance and the best restaurants and bars with live music are nearby. We feel very lucky we choose this place. If you want to feel you are in a fairy tale abode book the rooms all the way in the back with exquisite woodcarvings crossing a little bridge over the stream. We got our family room 2 hours before the official check in time and could leave our luggage in the reception area until we left in the evening. The staff will do their utmost best to accommodate your needs and wants. Budget price for a luxurious experience. Great beds, bathroom and airco.

I did not want to leave that’s the only downside.

An ecdellent relaxed stay marred slighlty by the Booking.com handling

Everything was good -- up to the usual standard (we have stayed in Ubud Terrace many times before).

The only problem was with the Booking.com handling, in, for example, offering free airport pickup when this was not available from the resort.

Amazing location, nice rooms, lovely garden and friendly staff: highly recommended!

Highly recommend this place. The location is fantastic, right on the main street, yet you can’t hear any noise in the rooms. The beautiful garden is full of playful monkeys, so you always need to keep doors and windows closed, but it’s fun to watch them. The staff were kind and helpful. The design of the property has a royal, elegant style, and it’s more beautiful in person than in the photos. I was so satisfied with everything that I ended up extending my stay twice and tried three different rooms and I was completely happy with each of them. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and I would gladly return.

One ground-floor room had a slightly unpleasant smell, but as soon as I mentioned it, the staff immediately came to clean it. It didn’t really help so this was probably due to the age of the building.

Perfect

Everything. It was perfect. Beachfront, with 2 pools, one of them decent length for swimming and another one for diving training. The staff are wonderful, really friendly. There’s a beach volleyball if you fancy it and diving courses. The beach bar next door is perfect for the sunset. Room was good size, in good order and nice big clean bathroom. Breakfast was functional, but perfectly fine. Fantastic for the price.

If you don’t like monkeys, stay away!

The area it is in is quite close to a lot of things! The staff were helpful and helped us immediately whenever we needed something. The room itself was massive.

I didn’t realise being so close to the monkey forest would mean there would be many monkeys around the hotel. It was kind of scary as someone not used to it! Although all was fine and none came near us. Our room was way back and had to take a lot of steps to get there. Wasn’t an issue for us but could be for someone with mobility issues. The lock in our door also broke and wouldn’t open so we had to spend a while waiting outside for someone to fix it and in that time got bitten alive by mosquitoes! Staff worked as quick as they could to fix it and were helpful with the issue!

We were placed in a room with no security. My daughters room door had no internal lock. The oversized shower head fell of onto my shoulder. There was a construction site next to the villa and they ran a compressor well into the night. And so much more. The young girl attempted to get more money from us as we left and it was a big argument.

Great hotel. Will reconment

It was a beatiful room. Also very big. As you are being escorted to your room you'll see the nice scenery around the buildings and the swimming pool. We felt like royalty. The location is in the center of ubud so eazy to get anywhere from the hotel. We did not have any noise complains.

The only real complaint was the lack of hot water. The was a nice bath and shower we had like to utilize more. Also watch out for monkeys. Do not bring any food to the pool.

Kind staff, lovely pool, loved the carved wooden comfortable beds, nice “feel” to Ubud Terrace . Garden was restful and well maintained. Loved the pool and greenery around it . Quiet but so central as well. Having stayed in a few places I enjoyed this location. As an aside make sure you have a meal in 3 monkeys . Amazing rice paddy out the back, fish ponds, wood fired pizza. Enjoyed coffee here each day.

Location is amazing. We loved the monkeys. The rooms are stunning and we loved it here in Central Ubud. Pool was terrific.

The bed sheets, whilst clean, were old and tattered and felt like they needed to be replaced. A little more effort here would make this place a 9-10.
