Very good location, the hotel's proximity to the Monkey Forest that allowed us the experience of naturally interacting with the monkeys was a major highlight of our stay and of the hotel's attraction in general. We did not need to leave the hotel to see the monkeys as they were just around our bungalow (you would literally wake up to seeing the monkeys).

Staff super friendly, great breakfast, monkeys on your balcony, clean rooms
There is a bit of road noise but it didn't bother me as I'm a heavy sleeper.

It had everything I could have wanted for a quick two day stay as part of a bigger trip to Bali. Friendly staff, great central location yards away from the Monkey Forest and street with many restaurants and shops, nice clean and quiet room, fast WiFi, good breakfast … and MONKEYS!
When I booked the two day stay I didn’t know that Wenara was Indonesian for Bali but I only really needed to be in the room for 5 minutes to see the monkeys. They were worth staying at Wenara Bungalows for alone and were great entertainment and I found them a case of if you left them alone they’d leave you alone.
If you’re looking for a central place to stay in Ubud then I can highly recommend this place. If you don’t like monkeys then, yeah, maybe not so much!
There was nothing that I did not like about Wenara Bungalows.
