- Wonderful experience - Hotel is located right behind monkey forest - Great environment if you like nature and forests - Monkeys would come around in the garden, unique place in Bali - Staff are friendly and helpful - Room was large and comfortable - There was refrigerator and AC in the room - Breakfast was good - Make sure you try the hotel’s restaurant, amazing food, the tastiest meals I had on my trip in Indonesia - Excellent place, highly recommended

An ideal location to stay in Ubud

It's so lovely to wake up and see the monkeys hanging around the hotel. The service is top-notch, it's incredibly clean, and the location is spot on.

Best for monkeys

Get a room facing the jungle and you will have a better monkey experience than the Monkey Forest offers; and yes I'm serious. Breakfast was fine, the paid meals good value. Not in the busiest part of town but walking distance to the popular restaurant alley up the hill. Clean, cool, swimming pool.

Can't really fault the hotel, but Ubud could do with wider footpaths and less manic bike riders. Got sick of shared walkways with bikes flying past pedestrians.

So great seeing the monkeys from our room. Very entertaining. The pool and garden surroundings were lovely. Breakfast pancakes delicious.

Most staff very helpful but we wanted help organising our laundry and front desk staff wouldn’t help. Fried egg at breakfast a bit undercooked.

Cheap but dirty and smelled of mould. The location is great, the staff are friendly.

We were in one of the pool facing twin rooms and it was very pretty. The monkeys running around is really cool. The food in the restaurant was tasty and the location was fantastic. Staff were very friendly!

The bathroom had not been cleaned properly on our arrival, including rodent droppings. The room reeked of mould, to the point that I felt slightly nauseous. While the sheets were clean, they were slightly moist, and there was no quilt cover or top sheet on the quilt.

Nice location next to the Monkey Forest. The rooms are big and clean, and the staff is really nice too. You can see monkeys from your window :)

There is a small street next to it that is highly transited, so you hear the motorbikes all the time

Relaxing!

Wenara Bali Bungalows are such a hidden gem. Basic accommodation but with beautiful jungle feels, relaxing pool and the food was great. Clean rooms, clean restaurant and the staff were fabulous. The location isn’t far from ATMs, coffee shops or a small grocer. We were collected at the airport by a fantastic driver called Kimot, he was organised by the bungalows and was an amazing caring chap.

I enjoyed it all. I think if you are nervous of monkeys, then I wouldn’t recommend you stay here. My kids thoroughly enjoyed all the monkeys causing mischief and the various lizards and geckos at the site.

Monkey noise on the bedroom roof - unexpected the 1st night but soon get used to it! Motorbike noises as the alley alongside the accommodation is a shortcut and they all beep to warn others they are coming! Shower was a little weak.

staff very nice easy to deal with would stay again ! Great price for my room thank you so much... Door to the balcony needs a handle out side could not close ! a problem with all the monkey's It would be good to have 10 coat hangers as cant bring from home :)

The only thing that was a problem was the shower really needs a curtain , as the water went all over toilet and floor .

Monkey Paradise

Location was exceptional, living with the monkeys was just wonderful. Value for money. Pretty place. Staff friendly and polite. Pretty gardens and pool.

A little dated. Could use some TLC. No soap for use. Empty Shampoo and conditioner containers. Mould in the bathrooms.

Nice place to stay with a convenient location

Location was great, walking distance to the shops and Ubud Monkey Forest, but not so close to the noise of the main area. The pool is nice and serene. The room was clean and spacious. There is no elevator, but the staff were very helpful and helped to carry my luggage up to the 3rd floor. There were some monkeys on the balcony or just across on the roof of the next building.

They will store your luggage for you before/after check-in, but it is just in the open behind their counter and not really secured. Monkeys were fighting and running across the tin roofs in the middle of the night.

Great location, monkeys at your back door , was priced appropriately, nothing flash but reflected in the price. We had a great view of the river and lots of monkeys came to visit

Good price, good stay

- The place is next to the Monkey Forest, basically in Downtown Ubud, close to many other tourist spots. There are monkeys around the place in the evening when tourists are not in the forest to look for food but the place does provide a long stick to scare them away if need to 🤣 - Staff is friendly, very helpful, and on site to watch out for the monkeys.

Basic, budget, but beats a hostel

Great location for shopping, the palace, etc. Pool was decent and breakfast was included. Close to Monkey Forest. Staff was responsive and armed with a slingshot to fend off the monkey business.

Some updating needed. Monkeys can become invasive due to proximity to the sanctuary. My unit had a pretty musty smell and the countertop in the bathroom had a large crack.

Beautiful accommodation

Wenara Bali Bungalows is beautiful. It's so clean, with great staff and lovely food. The location was great, right in the middle of everything, but yet still provided a lovely tranquil setting. Would definitely recommend.

Great location for being immersed in the Monkey vibes of Ubud

The pool was a great size, staff were friendly and location was central - very close to the Monkey Forest. Simple breakfast included.

Rooms were very basic and included towels but no hand towels, face clothes, or body wash. Some of the doors were hard to close (my bathroom door didn't close properly). We loved the monkeys hanging around but they were VERY LOUD on the roof, and the traffic on the road also woke us up at times. Simple breakfast included - would have appreciated non-dairy milk as an option for the coffee.

Stayed in twin room with pool view. Awesome location. Loved watching the monkeys everyday. Very comfortable lounge chairs around the pool. Beautiful helpful staff. Loved the banana pancakes. Great value for money. Enjoyed my stay here immensly.

Accessible and relaxing place

The most desirable feature is the location; since it is located just in the Ubud center, it is easy to access all the attractions and easy to get transportation. Some monkeys also frequent the property especially on early mornings which is a delight to watch (I never approached them and just watch them through my window). They provide housekeeping everyday which is why I had a very comfortable 5-night stay.

Great value, lovely staff, noise, and monkeys

In central Ubud, the hotel complex building was beautiful.

There were monkeys from the sacred forest, on the property a lot of the time, so it’s risky, leaving things like sunglasses and phones beside the pool while you swim, or outside the door of your room on the balcony .There is constant noise of motorcycles passing from early morning to late evening. But it is quite a sleeping time.

Amazing stay!

We loved the monkeys even if they did steal our crisps. The pool was lovely and the room too. The staff were super friendly and helpful.

There wasn't a high chair or a cot. This was not a problem as we have our own basic cot we used and made it work without a high chair. Also there was no shade for deck chairs by the pool.

Excellent location!

Location outstanding for activities like riverrafting and excursions. Monkey Forest is in the back of the hotel so monkeys are running around in the back. Mr Ketut at the hotel is more then helpful in helping to book tours.

Wonderful , charming location

Amazing outlook over the monkey forest with plenty of opportunities to watch them from your room. Very good location to walk around town. Lovely charming little no frills hotel. If you don’t like monkeys in your space this isn’t the place for you. Staff come around and shoo them away but they do spend a lot of time on the grounds and some may fight on the rooftop.

My only criticism was the bathroom was quite mouldy , no TV in room but overall it was a great place to stay for the price . Breakfast is very basic from a set menu.
