Perfect for a short stay and great base to explore.

That was my second stay, and I recommend the Devonian unreservedly.

The place is great. Kevin is an excellent host. Breakfast was highlight too. The Devonian is warm comfortable and the atmosphere is relaxed. A nice place to stay and set you up for the day is here. I also appreciated them catering for my late arrival on my first day.

Yes the staff in the Devonian where all really helpful, with myself asking were dp I get from A to Be , they were always asking if I need something, Very highly recommended the Devonian , will be back in March 😀👍

Extremely welcoming and in a perfect location

I had a friendly phone call from Kevin before I’d even left my house to travel, who was checking on my arrival time and gave me in-depth directions and important need-to-know information. I had a very warm welcome and was looked after exceptionally well by Kevin and Gillian. The location is fantastic - 2 mins walk to the promenade, 5 mins to the centre and 10 mins to steam railway, bus interchange or Manx Electric Railway. When I arrived, the heating was not working and they had the plumber coming so they provided each room with a very efficient heater and the radiators were on perfectly the next day (shower is electric so not affected). This therefore was not a problem to me at all and they had mitigated the issue very well.

I quite like having a desk or table in a room but this isn't expected in a B&B!

Devine Devonian

Our host was amazing! Very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The room was charming and nicely decorated, quiet and comfortable and clean. The location was great, 10 minute walk from the ferry and close to the main Strand and beach. Loved our 4 night stay at the Devonian.

Very handy for the theatre and villa mariner royal hall.

Everything was great, except for the comments below. I will point out at this point that we got used to the smell and it did become less obvious the longer you were in the room.

On arrival, at it was around 9.45 to 10pm once we entered our room (basement) it felt cold and damp. Even though the room was clean and tidy, there was a very musty damp smell which was very obvious.

A wonderful guesthouse, conveniently located just off the promenade in Douglas. Spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds. Breakfasts are superb with more choice than a 4star hotel.

I love everything about the Devonian, super people, the bed felt like a cloud, the breakfast was 5 stars. It was an amazing stay. Gillian was an absolute gem to communicate, went above and beyond to accomadate us. Linda was amazing and super friendly at the breakfast service and Kevin cooks up a delicious generous tasty breakfast. Thank you all so much for an amazing stay !

Great little hotel

A cozy hotel, extremely clean, full amenities offered, lovely hosts/cleaning crew.

The heater in my room did not work so I had to heat up my bed with the hair dryer, but this was not really an issue once I found the solution.

Very well managed place with outstanding staff (in fact: have hardly ever been to a place with an alike cleanliness), excellent breakfast.

The location is great. Next to the Gaiety Theater and the promenade. Breakfast was ample but not extraordinary

The rooms and facilities are shabby. This morning I was greeted by an extremely large spider in my bath towel. Bed was extremely soft and uncomfortable. Television didn’t work well and the remote button were worn out

Perfect stay!

The Devonian was fantastic to stay in. Very clean, comfortable. Breakfast was brilliant and varied to suit everyone. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Excellent location. Highly recommend this place and would definately stay there again.

Fab breakfast and good value

Good location able to walk to many amenities, shops, cafes etc. Fabulous choice of breakfast. Very good vegan and gluten free options. Small single room but everything you need and very comfortable.

Excellent choice for a short break

Location was excellent, spotlessly clean and amazing breakfasts, even sorted us a takeaway breakfast for our early ferry.

The room was a little small, though we had been offered an upgrade, we didn't want a twin room .
