Brilliant short stay at The Penta

Due to a mix up booking the ferry we arrived at 6.30 am . The Penta very kindly allowed us to check in and have a bit if breakfast . On departure they opened the breakfast room especiially for us as we had to leave early.. The staff were so friendly and pleasant

Definitely recommend - half the price of the place down the road that I usually use.

Good value for money - large rooms - clean. Basic breakfast but that’s what I wanted and was included anyway.

A Perfect Stay at The Penta

The staff were great, even checked us in at 11am as our rooms were ready already - what a service. Rooms were nice and big, so was the bathroom. Beds were very comfy too. The hotel is in a great location and despite storm Amy raging outside we felt very safe and comfortable . Have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. We are planning to return to the Isle of Man next month and will be staying at The Penta again.

Convenient comfortable stay

Located on the prom. Very clean and comfortable room. Free wifi. Lift available if needed. Simple complimentary breakfast was unexpected but appreciated.

Disappointing

Room was large.

Very uncomfortable bed and smell of diesel in room. Never anyone on reception. Breakfast staff were lovely but no one around the rest of the day. Nowhere to sit in the evenings. No bar. At the wrong end of the prom for town.

Incredible value for money and immaculately clean.

Pleasant stay

The room was huge and had lots of space. The bathroom was also large with great water pressure in the shower. There was complimentary continental breakfast we weren’t expecting.

The room didn’t have a fridge which we really could have used in the heat of summer for water and our snacks. A fan would also have been lovely as despite the great windows there wasn’t much airflow into the room. Also we had a strange letter under our door day 2 insisting we take down our Do Not Disturb sign as it was policy to service the rooms. The staff was amenable when we said we didn’t need our room serviced as we were checking out the next day but they were welcome to check the room if they must. We put up a do not disturb sign for security, no other reason. We have never come across this before

Easy check-in even late in the day. Close to the beach. Complimentary breakfast did not have many options, but was satisfying. Big room!

it was brightly coloured room clean, only seen one staff member who was nice and checked us in we arrived early and only called in to see if we could leave are bags in and she said are room was ready and gave us the key which was nice.

we had a side room with a view of the neighbouring hotel windows, which was a bit gloomy as we had to keep the curtains closed on the 3 windows in are room as you felt like people could see in at you as when i looked out i could see someone having a shower and quickly closed the curtain🙈 just glad we were only staying the one night , when booking it it didn't show in the description of the room you select if it has a good view or not.

Clean spacious room at a good price

Spacious room was very clean and comfortable. Check-in was easy with the room key available in a coded box at reception as we didnt arrive until about 8pm. Nice location on the sea front and easily walkable from the ferry terminal if arriving as a foot passenger

Good location, cute place, but don't expect much from the breakfasts

Good location Pleasant staff It shows some signs of ageing, but it is nicely renovated and very peaceful

Continental breakfast was good and the breakfast room was pleasant. The location wa good.

The room was very warm during our stay and as we were on the seafront it was too noisy to open the windows. A cooling fan would have been good.

Quaint and quiet

Right by the promenade, easy check in and check out. Quiet and peaceful but not too far from town centre- lovely restaurant and cafe nearby

Fantastic place to stay!!

The location of the property is excellent, all the staff were lovely and the room was spacious and very clean - the bed was huge and very restful with comfortable pillows.

Overall we had a very enjoyable stay but 2 simple issues could be improved. 1. A central handrail at the correct height is needed as rails at sides of stairs are too low and not user friendly. 2. Do not allow smoking or provide ashtrays at hotel entrance as this is unpleasant for guests who have their windows open.

The Penta is nicely situated and great Value for Money

The Penta is situated on the Queens Promenade. Easy access to the Electric railway and Bus stops that take you to other places. We had a complimentary breakfast and the staff are friendly and very helpful

The staff are lovely at this hotel & work hard keeping it clean. The hotel needs a bit of a face-lift, bed & carpets.

spoilt by the wrong room

I had written agreement from the hotel that they had given me a first floor room. I requested this as an 80 year old who does not use lifts after previously being stuck in one. I was given a 3rd floor room and the stairs proved difficult for me

Wasn't for me

My fault for not mentioning before arrival. Was very warm weather but bed duvet had a winter feather duvet on. Was swapped for me 2nd day but the cover absolutely reeked of a very strong laundry softener. So strong, irritated my asthma. Bed was also uncomfortable, hard and lumpy. The duvet cover was was changed so my 3rd night i slept a little better. Breakfast, not much effort put into the continental. Had a lot better. Shame as rooms very spacious, hairdryer supplied although mirror no where close to an electric socket. Shower was great and a rubber bath slip mat was quickly supplied on request Plenty of teabags and a kettle in rooms.

As mentioned above.... Winter feather duvet in hot weather. A duvet cover that reeked of laundry softener Continental breakfast poor, very limited Tea and coffee available from a very high cupboard which for someone my height 5'1" was actually quite dangerous

Lovely and clean and comfortable. Although the hotel didn't have an all-day reception open we were easily able to leave cases at their sister hotel The Regency just up the road where the management were very friendly.

The Penta is about a mile from Douglas. The breakfast was cereals, toast, tea, coffee and juice. Would have been nice to have some cheese, meats and maybe a boiled egg

Perfect Penta is worth a visit

Everything, our welcome,the room,location,breakfast.... We had a room at the back so it stayed cool. The breakfast room had one of the best views ever, we were looking out accros the bay at the big cruise ships anchored off shore. Our 6th floor room was very spacious with everything in it. Nice clean comfy beds to. Lifts go to very floor.

Can't think of anything, for us the walk from the ferry terminal was 20 mins or so along the prom, people with mobility issues could get a taxi or a bus.
