Modern and clean and good enough for one night's quick stopover

Simple accommodation but all very modern and clean. Great TV and relatively quiet for it's location

Staff were not very welcoming... Not sure if it was because reception is basically the bar, but I didn't feel hugely welcomed. Luckily I was too tired to care, but others might find the greeting a little aloof!

An overnight stay on route to Shetland. It was perfect for a stopover.

The location is easy to find. Checking in was easy with friendly staff. A huge car park and great bar and restaurant. The room was large and well fitted. A perfect location for one night if going on another journey. The main street had places to eat and drink. I did not take meals and decided to eat out instead. A big comfortable bed with large shower/toilet room.

Great location for Edinburgh sightseeing

Stayed for 2 nights for the Rugby. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Location is perfect for Edinburgh sightseeing. The fact that there is parking is such a bonus. Rooms are spacious with kettle tea and coffee. You also have a hairdryer Breakfast is large with cooked and continental options.

Found it hard to regulate the heating in the room which was extremely warm The bed was good size but unfortunately not the most comfortable bed or pillows.

Free parking with a comfortable stay.

Free parking with the bus stop right outside to take you into the centre of Edinburgh. The rooms are compact, but extremely comfortable . Really nice beds. The restaurant is really good and we enjoyed our carvery. The staff are really friendly, and went above and beyond to help especially Angela and Amy.

It would be nice if we could have watched Netflix but I couldn’t find the option to cast.

A frequent visitor. Very handy for buses, shop, restaurants etc.

Unfortunately on my 1st night a couple in the next room woke me up and after that at 11pm I got no more sleep at all. I could have called the night porter but didn’t want to attract attention to myself as they were obnoxious and extremely loud in more ways than one! Unfortunately their antics caused my headboard to bang frequently 😱

One of my favorite stops this year.

The buffet at the Carvery is loaded with tasty selections that looked so good I had to try a little of everything every time and I was never disappointed. Tender meats and roasted veggies were so good. Lots of shops to walk to in the area and also a bus stop out in front. The staff are friendly and helpful and that lended to the wonderful stay I had there for 3 nights.

There's nothing to not like. What more could ya want; good food, great cocktails, warm room, 15' to the bus stop.

Edinburgh Christmas market weekender

Friendliness of staff and the welcome given. The food was lovely and plenty of choice. Transport into the town centre was also plentiful and right outside the door! Lovely weekend.

Enjoyable

Comfortable bed, room was on the small side as was the bathroom but as you are just sleeping in it, it did not matter. Bathroom was very clean and there was housekeeping each day.

The cooked breakfast was all cooked at the same time I expect. There was lots of it but mostly felt it was all a bit dried up. So did not partake apart from the first morning.

A great place to stay

The hotel room was spacious and comfortable. It had everything we needed for our stay. Bus stop right outside was very handy. Staff were amazing and so helpful especially Aimee who was extremely helpful to us. Food was amazing and plentiful. Can’t fault this place and would stay again

A nice place with good bus lines.

Breakfast, bed, bathroom, room etc were all good and clean. A nice family friendly restaurant with good cooked breakfast. Some shops and restaurants nearby, and buses to the city centre departing just outside the hotel.

The room was very hot during our stay in the middle of the summer because of incredibly good weather.

Toby Carvery is my wife’s favourite restaurant. Breakfast was amazing as always. The room was small and compact but high quality. 10 mins from Edinburgh airport. Room was clean. We advised that it was our 12th anniversary and Angela, created a romantic experience for our room. She was so lovely and even wished us a happy anniversary the next day. All the staff were lovely, including the young lady at the front desk who told us of all the great sights to see in the city. We took her advice and we were so glad we did. she also allowed us to store some of our luggage after checkout whilst we went sightseeing.

Nice, friendly staff but room was too warm for comfort and was overpriced.

We did not have breakfast there but went to the airport after the one night’s stay. The staff was very helpful holding our luggage early for us since we needed to return our rental car well before checkin time. Another positive note was the king sized bed was comfortable.

The main problem we had was that the room was very hot and stuffy. The window could only be opened a very small amount and there was a very small fan in the room, but it did not move much air at all. When I went to the desk to ask if there was any air con, the young gentleman politely said that there was not due to it being a very old building and he offered to bring a fan up. He did bring a larger fan up right away but the room never did really cool off throughout the night which made it not a restful night. The room was overpriced for what was provided also.

We were in Edinburgh for my son to see Oasis, his favourite band.

The staff are wonderful, Pamela and her team looked after us! The food was amazing (as expected). There is a bus-stop right outside too with buses right into the City, as well as a bus-stop to and from the Airport just down the road.

The only negative was paying an 'Oasis are in town' premium for the room. Everything else was perfect!

Had a very nice stay here, with friendly staff

The location of the hotel was a little far out but very easy to get to with the excellent bus service. The room was lovely and quiet at the back of the hotel, nice big comfy bed, could do with some better pillows they weren’t the best. Good shower. Food was not amazing, have had better at other Toby’s. The staff in the restaurant however were very lovely.

Did not meet expectations

Shower pressure is great and warm so great. The bed was comfortable and linen was clean. Bus stop at the hotel with multiple bus lines bringing you to the city centre in 15-20 minutes.

But; The room was not clean (floor, mirrors, wall etc), teacups were not clean, dust collected on top of things. After complaint, they vacuumed and cleaned some areas, but not everything was clean. The personel was very nice and tried their best to improve the stay. Little to no space to put personal items in the bathroom. Little to no space to put your suitcase. There is a desk with a chair, but you can't sit comfortably behind it because the space between the desk and the bed is too tight. (and I am a thin person). Breakfast has some options, but many is of poor quality. (for example, bacon was dry and tough). Unfortunatly I would recommend to eat out. We asked for a quiet room, but were placed above the car drive-through. We were woken up every morning between 5.30-6 by either trash collection or delivery. Especially the delivery was annoying as it took 30-45 minutes.

Good stay for Edinburgh

It is located on the outskirts of Edinburgh, but since we had a car, it was convenient, as it offered parking, and with the bus, which stops right in front of the hotel, we could easily get to downtown. Key cards allow for easy access for the guests. As it has a restaurant attached, it was convenient to have drinks or dinner right at the guesthouse.

The room was quite small and faced the street. But the traffic at night was not so bad.

Slightly pricey but good location

The location was convenient for us because there was public transportation just outside the hotel. A bus to the airport also stops on the hotel's street.

To use hotel Wi-Fi, you have to make an account. Breakfast was a choice of Scottish buffet breakfast or continental. It wasn't the best buffet we had but the food was edible. We don't have mobility difficulties but it is worth noting there is no elevator.
