Would definitely stay again

Check-in was easy with helpful and friendly staff. Room had a lovely view - a bit smaller than expected but well laid out with plenty of storage space. Great location for city even if you are not going to the Zoo and there are good bus connections to all parts of the city and airport.

Bathroom disappointing as shower very poor and no towel rack.

Very good, would go again

Hotel room very clean and very warm. Pool nice temperature wasn't freezing so big plus for us. Very clean and good changing rooms. Decent showers and provide towels. Restaurant spacious, nice lighting, small area with pool table, table football & colouring for kids. Nice calm environment. Food was lovely. Good choices for breakfast.

Felt there wasn't much communication with staff, reception informed room and floor, but didnt inform the basics like check out time / breakfast times. The information was on the TV which was good but would of been nice to of been told instead of searching. Also miscommunication/ lack of communication in restaurant as got seated and told to order from phone and where buffet for kids was. Caused a bit of confusion with kids food but staff fixed in end. Card only facility.

We have stayed a couple of times now, it’s a lovely hotel and great location especially for the zoo

We loved the pool and the hotel restaurant/bar! The staff are all very friendly and professional! The hotel is lovely and clean! My sons really enjoyed the buffet dinner and breakfast! It’s also a great location especially to visit the zoo and just a short bus ride into city centre

Unfortunately we had a bad neighbour who ruined our stay at the end of the evening but the staff dealt with it well the next day, I was happy with the solution!

Exceeded our expectations would recommend and return.

This hotel exceeded our expectations for the price we paid. We were on a dbb deal, excellent choice of food which was delicious. Room was comfortable and clean. Staff were friendly and polite.

The hotel exceeded expectations in terms of quality and standard of facilities; first class staff!

Breakfast was exceptional value for money; location was (is) perfect for visiting the zoo, but also really handy for accessing the city due to being close to transport links; room was clean and well appointed.

There is nothing to fault - and if I had to select one area that I would have preferred to be slightly better then, the standard room, whilst being clean and totally adequate, had a small bathroom - and although perfectly appointed it was a little on the small side; and only having 1 x towel each of hand and bath required having to request additional towels (a very minor point).

Excellent would definitely stay again

automatically given two adjoining rooms, without needing to specifically request this. Desk staff were all pleasant and happy to answering questions, and queries. Even the cleaners were friendly, and happy to help, making sure to check we had sufficient provisions in the rooms. Breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice catering for multiple needs and tastes.

As per normal the carparking .staff.and breakfast was good

we was upgraded room wise but bathroom door was rough on the inside paint missing and marked also when we pulled the curtains a tweed flat cap was on the radiator obviously from a previous guest

No parking, wait for check in was over an hour long, arrived to room to a foul smell, no pressure in shower and cold water, hairs in the bed, Bluetooth speaker did not work, carpet was un clean, baby oil bottle left in bin inside room from previous occupants.

We didn't get enough information about the pool opening time. We decided to go for a swim at 9.50 and we were told the pool would be closing at 10.15 for a class. In fact the patrons started arriving at 10 and the pool was rather overwhelmed with floats.

The staff were so rude. The woman working the bar didn’t even acknowledge me, she just served our drinks with a scowl. The food is also so bad.

Great family stay for 4 nights, visiting Edinburgh and friends.

Location great for us, and a short easy bus ride in to city centre. Clean, good size family room with good shower, wardrobe space and comfortable beds. Good WiFi and TV. Very good breakfast. Nice to have the pool and sauna to use. Pleasant and spacious communal bar/restaurant areas, with table football and pool table. Fast lift.

Nothing major, but could have been a bit warmer in the open plan dining/breakfast room / bar area. Jacuzzi in health club wasn't working. Changing rooms by the pool very cold also. Double bed mattress was a little bit saggy in the middle, although comfortable.

Breakfast was good. Staff were lovely and location remains excellent for the zoo. Buses into Edinburgh were easy and frequent

Hotel is very dated. Health club feels tiny and like its overdue a renovation. Pool is v small and 2 families at once made it crowded and the 2 loungers are right on top of it so not at all relaxing. The corridor our room was on regularly had plates and glasses sitting on the landing all day and our room was not turned down on one of the nights despite being out for over 8 hours that day

Was a nice hotel with minor issues.

Was easy to get to the city and back, very accessible. Parking is free and assessable. Got free tea in room the room was spacious

I only sleep in memory foam due to my bad back so bed wasn’t for me, but I’m sure others would find it comfortable. I was in an assessable room cause of my conditions and the bath was weird. The heating stopped working and it didn’t work throughout my 4 nights there, the room was freezing, we had to make do with a small radiator on the wall outside the bathroom which did take the chill off but the room was freezing. The noise is a big problem you can hear everything in the rooms next to you and above, I didn’t sleep well at all due to kids running constantly upstairs all hours and drunk people coming in next door. So the noise is a problem

Em and Nick's Christmas Experience

The view from our room across Edinburgh was amazing. I could have spent all day looking across at the hills and watching the world go by. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Both myself and my husband had a wonderful Christmas Experience in Edinburgh with the help of yourself and your hotel. We even managed to enjoy your pool and jacuzzi. Many many thanks

Ideal location, but disappointing conditions in the room

The location is ideal. Easy get a bus into the city centre. The hotel bar was nice, and the breakfast was good. We didn’t use leisure centre etc.

Wish they put as much effort into the room as they did the bar/reception area. Had stayed in hotel 2 years previous and the rooms were in much better condition. Our room this time - around the bath and window was covered in mould. Pubic hair was on the ground in bathroom behind bathroom door. Toilet didn’t flush properly for the first day, and after it was fixed the handle needed to be pumped a number of times to flush. The WiFi was not working in the room at all, and Netflix etc on TV couldn’t be used (we had it previously two years ago). A lot of paint work cracked and chipping. Particularly in entrance area of room. No amenities in bathroom except for body wash and shampoo. Staff were nice.

Brilliant staff from check in to check out and in between. Nice to have a pool, jacuzzi and sauna, but unfortunately the changing room floor in the pool was filthy and quite off putting. Good quality restaurant, good breakfast, good general toilets on ground floor. Free parking a huge plus.

Convenient location for Edinburgh sightseeing

Location is very convenient, sitting at Edinburgh Zoo between the airport and the city centre, next to a regular bus route. Staff were friendly and helpful and range of facilities are good. Price was fair, but not cheap, against other central options.

Hotel is looking pretty tired - in need of a refurbishment in many shared areas and the rooms. At breakfast, crockery was not always clean.

Long run. Excellent sleep

Havong run a 57 mile ultra marathon, hotel was 1.9 miles from rhe finish, glad to slump on the bed and sleep for ages. Pure bliss. Great breakfast next morning to refuel body.

Communal areas, bar etc were relaxing as I was meeting five friends there. Good places to relax and chat.

One of my friends was a bit immobile and we hadn’t realised that to use public buses involved quite a steep climb from the road.

Nice hotel, always question their allergy info

Nice hotel, friendly helpful staff, we didn't use the pool/sauna but the fact it had them was great, covered parking with spots that could only be used for motorbikes (which is what we were on) was a big bonus.

Plugs not close enough to the bed to use my cpap, only 3 available plugs for charging, the allergy matrix stated some items were gluten free however they weren't, luckily this was caught by asking rather than relying on their literally allergy information! Spot isn't convenient for local amenities like shops and will require a tax or bus in to town

very nice stay

The restaurant staff were excellent, most of the staff were lovely and helpful.

Our room was nt cleaned we were left without toilet rolls etc, this was soon resolved by reception.
