Bed a bit stiff.

The property was comfortable and well located for walkers and photographers. It is close to Longshaw Estate which was a pleasant visit and seemed popular with walkers.
Carpark can get full with walkers and runners not guests.

Very little soundproofing so neighbours woke us up.

The staff were very welcoming and couldn't do enough,,very polite and attentive.
The Food was of very good quality and was delicious! Both evening meals and Breakfast.
Lovely and cosy atmosphere.
Would definitely recommend
The only negative from our 2 night stay is our room was not cleaned and coffee, etc was not replenished.
We have stayed in many different establishments over the years ,and have never had this happen . The bed has always been remade and coffee etc has been replenished and clean towels if needed to have been changed.
Aside from this ,we had a fantastic stay and would return.

Location.
Where to start...
The carpet was filthy, and the room was not set up for children despite my requesting this twice in advance. When a crib was eventually provided, it was grubby, the sides were loose, and it felt like an obvious safety risk.
Although we had our monitors and were in close proximity to the rooms, we were told that children were not allowed to be left in the rooms. We were informed this was “company policy”, yet there is no mention of such a policy anywhere on the website. Had this information been available beforehand, we would not have booked. We needed to take it in turns to eat in the restaurant.
Customer service was equally disappointing: it took almost a week for anyone to respond, and when they finally did, they addressed me by the wrong name.

A bit remote but nice property. Easy access for walkers to the surrounding countryside.
Lots of parking and outdoor area will be lovely in the summer. Staff were helpful but a little young and inexperienced.
Very poorly stocked soft drinks at the bar and bar staff had to go to stores twice, one for sparkling water and other for crisps. You’d expect these to be restocked before opening. Food was good but not great. Room was cold but staff brought me a fan heater. I paid for bed and breakfast but when I went to the main building 2 hours after they were meant to be open the property was locked and due to a staff member having a car issue no one got their breakfasts. Someone opened the door for me after 15/20 minutes when the chef unlocked the doors and served me my breakfast which wasn’t hot considering I was the only customer! Understand problems can occur but spoilt my experience considerably. Was called by the manager who apologised and offered a £15 refund which hasn’t come through as yet.

Lovely pub in a lovely setting with very comfortable accommodation. Food was good and staff were friendly and the pub had a real homely feel.
Rooms are outside in another building so it's a bit of a trek if you have a lot of luggage or small children. Thought the prices for the rooms were a little high but this might of been the time of year

The location was fantastic with views of the dales from the beer garden, the room was clean, comfortable and warm

Awesome pub, felt historic. The food was also delicious albeit slow,. probably due to the busy Christmas period.
The food was really tasty, the rooms were top notch. Clean, cosy and warm.
Food took a while both at dinner and at breakfast to arrive. Like about 30 min after ordering, normally not an issue but with impatient young children it was tough.
There are no shops nearby so you can't buy a bottle of water. I drank the tap water which was fine, but my kids and wife didn't like the taste.

The staff were very friendly, the room was warm, the bed was comfortable.
The restaurant and bar were very busy in the evening and there were not enough staff to cope. Service was very slow and the food was just OK.

A beautiful old building with live fires. Spacious bedroom and oomfortable bed. The staff were friendly and welcoming.
They seemed to be short staffed and so they were working hard but attention was minimal. Our room was tired and there was little if any soundproofing between us and the room upstairs. We heard every footstep, water flowing, voices on the phone. . . from 6am.
Breakfast was mean. Charge more if you have to but be generous. The waiter was charming but didn't make up for the meagre overpriced offerings. We slipped it altogether on our second morning.

Rooms, food, drinks, ambience, area, we got a free upgrade in room and early check in.
At breakfast it was tea and coffee out and juices. I think you should have a choice of the hot drinks menu when breakfast is included in room price.
But they did kindly give my wife a cappuccino when she asked for one no charge.

Rooms were cold and slightly dirty.

Location is perfect. The Longshaw Estate is but a stones throw away and all the walks/views of the surrounding countryside is exceptional
Unfortunately the weather. We stayed just as Storm Claudia was heading over the country. There's nothing not to like about the Fox House.

Big spacious room
No heating, room was cold. Breakfast service not great, and muesli/fruit served with some gone off syrup of some sort
8.0 / 10.0
Location was good, room 1 was light, spacious and generally clean
Long standing mould at the bottom of the shower screen.
Some sleep disturbed because the people in the room above had to take the dog outside around 5am. I suspect they were trying to be quiet but it sounded like a herd of elephants pacing about, skipping down the stairs and shutting the door to outside, bless em.

The room was very clean
The bed was rock hard, the room was stifling even though the radiators were turned off, we ate in the restaurant and waited 45 mins before any staff decided to tell us they didn't have the starter we ordered, when our mains came my food was really dry, I had to eat it as no one did a check back, we didn't even get offered another drink, on check out we didn't even get asked how our stay was

Dinner very nice we enjoyed. Breakfast poor bacon and with eggs over done both mornings.
Just the breakfast. No Brandy available in the hotel so wife unable to have a French coffee.

Great location
Very small room, staircase outside the room was creaking every-time anyone was walking on them and the walls are very thin - could hear others next door and on the landing

Good location for visiting Chatsworth. Check in was painless, and the room was a very good size too. Well equipped bathroom, BUT the loo seat was obviously missing a bolt on one side so kept slipping off when you sat down on it!
Unfortunately we are used to a king size bed, so did not sleep very well in what is classified as a 'double'. The comfort was not an issue, just the size of the bed!
the breakfast menu the next morning could have given us a few more 'egg' options aside from a 'full english', and also perhaps some fresh fruit of some kind would have been welcome.
See above - the loo seat which had a major wobble , bed size and the lack of choice for breakfast.

Location and hotel were great .
Breakfast we had one day was awful. Addressed well by the manager .
