Very good quality for the price

The room was very clean and spacious. The staff were extremely friendly, especially the lady at the reception. The breakfast (€20 per person) was excellent and of top quality. We also used the property’s private parking (€20 per day), which was very convenient. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The only small issue was that although we requested a double bed and selected it during the booking, the hotel only had two single beds pushed together. However, the mattress quality was very good, and we still slept comfortably throughout our stay.

Quiet location ( room 55). If one has a room overlooking the beer garden, it be rather noisy during the season. Pretty dining rooms with excellent cuisine and very friendly staff. Perfect parking in a private garage with elevator up to the room. Well located historic buildings.

Being Right of The Sights

The hotel’s location is very good. It’s within walking distance of the train station and also in the Altstadt area. The funicular to the castle is just a few streets away. It’s both a restaurant and a hotel. I stayed in September, and perhaps for that reason the tables in the central courtyard were set out but not in use. Some reviews mentioned lots of noise, but during my stay it was very quiet. The hotel has a very famous restaurant. I stayed in a top-floor room in the main building. The room was quite spacious, and both the room and the bathroom were very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. I’d like to thank the tall young staff member who carried my suitcase up to the top-floor room when I checked in. The hotel is right in the heart of the sights. With its staff, cleanliness, and location, it’s definitely a hotel worth staying at. If I go again, I’d want to stay here. There was nothing I disliked. My only regret is not dining at its lovely restaurant.

Room was characterless, a little too warm, bed was small and uncomfortable, pillows were AWFUL. No tea or coffee facilities in the room. A little noisy during the evening. Overall pricey for what was on offer.

Disappointing

This hotel was extremely poor value for money. The room was so basic, and not what we expected at all - all the Booking.com images have a filter on them that makes them look a lot nicer than they actually were. Booked a double room for me and my husband, but it was just twin beds pushed together, so we basically slept in separate beds the whole weekend! They had music blasting outside the hotel until midnight on our second night, which made it really difficult to sleep. The breakfast was so expensive (€20 per person), but there wasn't much choice; the cooked breakfast was unpleasant, plus the coffee was bitter. The waiting staff had poor English skills, so they made several mistakes when we ordered our food or coffee. In all, I would not recommend this hotel nor stay here again.

An amazing place

The location was great, the staff were really friendly, and the whole atmosphere was very relaxing. The food and beer were exceptional.

The breakfast quality and quantity of cheeses, hams, and fruits were amazing. However, it was a bit too much food for us, and we couldn't eat it all, plus it wasn't really what my teenage son liked. A simple buffet style would have been better for us as you only take what you need and can also have the option to vary it from one day to the next.

Very hot / very loud / expensive

Good location

No air conditioning!!! Very very hot !! - what looked like a nice outdoor coffee spot when we booked was in fact part of a 400 seat restaurant that rocked hard till 11:00 each night - very very loud !! - can’t even get a coffee in the am and staff hang around and smoke at the front entrance - worst stay of my 3 weeks in Europe!!

Breakfast was a tad expensive, €20 per person. No coffeemaker in the room. Stairwell was very dark, almost missed a step, had to put on our flashlight from our phones so we didn't fall.

The staff was very helpful, the check-in and check-out process was efficient.

I wasn't able to obtain more than one cup of coffee at the paid breakfast which, at 15€, was a bit expensive.
