Wonderful. Will be back.

Staff are lovely. The kitchen always clean and ready to use. Fantastic breakfast buffet. Clean bathroom amenities. Always felt safe - gate and door locking mechanisms very secure. Good solid vibe - the place attracts down-to-earth, authentic clientele.

Wonderful Cape Town

The facility is excellent, clean and well maintained. It's in a very good location within walking distance to restaurants, stores and nightlife. It has a lounge area outside and a swimming pool inside. The staff is available 24 hrs and very helpful.

I would have preferred to have a non-shared room but there was none available because of a big conference/ convention in Cape Town.

My bag was stolen

The rooms are spacious and cleaned everyday.

My bag which had all my clothes and important documents was stolen in the luggage room while I was still there.I went to reception to fetch my bag as I was shocked to be told they coould not find it,it seemed that the luggage room was cleaned but no one told me who cleaned.I waited to whole day for them to check the cameras and the came later to tell me she could see anything on the camera but she will keep checking. After a while I went clto check the progress again and she told me she is still checking and she had informed the owner but the owner never arrived or even called me . I called later again and wa told by the lady that they will inform me if they find something .Till this day I had never received a call ,no email ,nothing from Ashanti. It seems to me that someone working there took /stole the bag because I don't understand how apparently nothing is showing on the camera when I had given all the necessary information. I'm very disappointed as I thought it was a safe place stay in.

Genuine, Comfy, Well Located and Quiet.

Honestly, this place was perfect. Comfy, clean, quiet and people just come and go, no social pressure or forced backpacker vibes.

The communal kitchen just needs a level up to the hygiene. Its perfectly fine, but could be better to make the overall experience better. things like santizer spray bottles and clean the microwaves daily.

Good option

The place is very nice and comfortable. There is excellent wifi, enough shared bathrooms and toilets, and a beautiful swimming pool. The staff is colaborative and you can have a good paid breakfast or meals at the restaurant.

I paid 35 US dollars (ZAR 606) for a single room with shared bathroom, which I think is a little excessive price compared to other similar places and overall value of money in South Africa. I was expecting a little more from the place. The shared kitchen is specially very messy and with lacking of utensils.

Quiet and peaceful, all guest respect one another and the staff were helpful so I will be back.

I liked the pool. The bathrooms and showers. The combination locks on the dorm rooms. The onsite bar is also good, with a pool table you can use by inserting a coin. The food options the bar offers and the small tuck shop at reception. The communal kitchen was adequate for what I needed to prepare and store food. I appreciated the Lodge offering guest the option to store their luggage in the store room until their check in. Thanks

I didn't like that the staff who welcomed me didn't introduce themselves or have any name badges for me to meet them. The bunk beds doesn't have a place to leave my electronic devices, water bottle, spectacles or a charging point close to the bunk bed. Otherwise, all essentials were provided.

staff were very helpful and the location was very nice. My room was very spacious.

the booking was misleading, because a photo of a lavatory in the room made me believe there was a private bathroom. i checked the booking again and it does not say that the bathroom was shared. Also, the walls are very thin and there was a lot of noise from the rooms upstairs and next door.

It promised much but ultimately failed to deliver on almost all counts.

The location is the big draw; a close shot of Table Mountain.

The toilets were not regularly cleaned. Very disappointing. And the basin in the room, for the 7 days I was there it was never cleaned. The bed curtains were stained. The kitchen often looked rundown.

Everything was very good thank you. My only complaint is the fact that the wifi in my room was not working properly (I am a student and had to access the wifi in order to study). I will be visiting you guys again very soon and also recommended the accommodation to friends and family

It was a good and easy place to stay.

Breakfast was excellent and I really enjoyed meeting the staff and making new friends in the hostel. The location was perfect, and the ambiance was very comfortable. I would recommend this hostel to anyone who wishes to stay in Cape Town.

Affordable Place for a Night or Two

You couldn't ask for much better for the price. A night in a private room is about $30 USD. Knowing that, you shouldn't expect 5-star accommodation. If you plan to explore the city and surrounding areas, this is a great place to stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms and showers were clean. The breakfast was really good. I didn't use the kitchen space, but it is available. I found some guests had left the kitchen quite messy. Also, security of the building felt good. There are also safes in the rooms if you need them.

The one downside was the small window in my room above the bed that banged open every time the wind blew. I had earplugs and was so tired that I slept through it, but I could see it potentially bothering some people.

It's just right behind table Mountain. The place is a street away from long street. The area is safe. It's just beautiful. Nezisa is an amazing caretaker.

The room was cold 😩 even though the heater was switched on most of the time. It may be because cape Town is a chilly place and the ceiling is high.

great stay for cape town

very clean bathrooms and showers, kitchen was well equipped with 2 fridges to make use of. rooms were clean and had lockers under the bed to fit the backpack in, also had a safe for each bed in the dorm. not far to mall and to a good restaurant street.

it’s not specifically about the property, but be sure to be home when it gets dark as there are mobs around the streets.

Great stay

The bathrooms are cleaned every morning. The kitchen has everything you need to cook. The neighborhood is walkable, restaurants and grocery stores very close. The staff are super friendly. Arrangement in room with a safe and a sink is very functional.

The noise at night. Had a room near the swimming pool, and constant chatter late at night (2am sometimes) and starting 7 am makes it difficult to get a good night's sleep.

Very good

I loved the house and the facilities (garden, pool and balconies) and the view of the mountain.The location is great, Kloof Street with restaurants & cafés, supermarkets is just around the corner, you can walk into the city center. I arrived on an early morning flight and really appreciated not having to wait until the afternoon for check-in (Thanks again)!!

Rooms towards the pool can be loud. During my first two nights people were partying at the pool until late at night. A blouse I gave to the external laundry service got lost, however Ashanti organized a refund.
