A new home away from home

First of all, the location. Long Street is the epicenter of everything, the cultural, touristic and night-life throbbing heart of this amazing city. Secondly, the facilities. LSB features everything a working traveler like me needs. From the big, super equipped kitchen to the leasure/TV room, but the highlight for me was the actual working space, where I could spend all the time I needed, including during the night, to perform my duties. Third and most important, the staff. Friendly, communicative, attentive, pro-active. They promptly and professionally took care of every single request I had, and they ensured to make it personal, making it feel like they really care about you. I can say that at LSB, "feeling at home" is not a cliché, but a reality I happily experienced for over a month.

A lively, well-located backpackers ideal for social travellers who don’t mind a bit of city noise.

Great central location on Long Street, friendly staff, and a social atmosphere that made it easy to meet people. The common areas were lively and convenient, and everything was within walking distance.

It can be quite noisy at night due to the location, and some rooms could benefit from better soundproofing and mosquito repellents.

Position of toilet paper holder at room 14 bathroom makes it hustle to use the the toilet , please place it opposite the toilet

Costly of daytime activities

Very kind to upgrade me to a female dorm; the mixed dorm was full of men in boxer shorts. They organized many activities though I dint participate.

Roaches in the bathroom and bedroom. Noise from the pubs till 4 am so it is impossible to sleep. To block out some noise n light, curtains were drawn by others which made the summer heat even harder to endure. I couldnt function well and had some wasted days. Considering safety, I Uber everywhere so the central location doesn't matter much. Staff couldn't find my deposit and dint have cash to give me. I was rushing for the airport n had to insist that they coughed out my deposit. Bit of drama in the wee hours.

I was very impressed as this was the very first time I Nicolette Louw made use of a Backpacker facility The lady at the reception her name was "TALENT "very cheerful, helpful and knows her her way around the premises. She took time and showing me around and my room and bed .

The bed sheets were dirty, the walls were dirty and the whole room looked like a motel for prostitutes, I also felt unsafe. The area is also very unsafe especially for a solo traveler. I do not recommend going here because their rooms look nothing like the pictures and the staff was too corny. The music was so loud, I ended up leaving the same night I arrived I could not stay here.

Shakers for the WIN!!

Some staff are very friendly and welcoming. Shakers is amazing, the most kind gentlest person I've ever met at any accomodation, he makes everyone feel at home, this guy is a real asset to your business, this place is like home away from home, amazing vibe. Rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable.

Cannot fault anything apart from the bathrooms being a bit out dated and gets really wet or leaks past the screen. But understand that renovations are in place so hopefully there'll be some change.

It was not too bad,but can improve.

The location is great!The room I was had small coackroaches because the floor is old wood I think they live in it.The bathroom had a window that if it was open people could see inside and if someone took a shower the floor were completely wet.The kitchen was very organized and I apreciated it.the bed was comfortable however the bed sheet was too thin.I suggest they cold make the bed with a thick bed sheet like a duvet.I personally like bed sheet and wall in white colour ,It brings a sensation of cleanliness.The bed sheet was white then it was positive.The room's window had a view to a space where people can see you inside ,so I didnt open it.The staffs are amazing and very helpful.My advice is only to renovate some rooms or spaces in the building.But I liked the rooms was in na place just for women and the share bathroom was only for girls, so it made me feel safe.Because I dont like to share bathroom with men.

I dint like the small coackroaches in the room even the staff could spread pesticide to kill them,but I think they live in the old wood floor,so the problem is the floor and the bathroom can improve because after someone take a shower the floor became completely wet so it was hard to use it.

What I liked most about the hostel was the service from the staff! Always energetic! Willing to help! The activities are also incredible (dance, typical food, games, city tours), I made a lot of friends and had the opportunity to improve my English with the travelers at the hostel! The meeting and work space helped me a lot! I stayed for a long period of time, I stayed at CPT for more than 40 days to study English. At the hostel, I initially stayed for 5 days in a shared female room and then another two weeks in a mixed room! I also stayed 2 nights in a private room! All the accommodations are great and are cleaned very well in the morning by the cleaning staff! The kitchen is super equipped and helped me save a lot during my stay! just thank you for everything ❤️

It is perhaps important to say that despite the hostel's responsibility to carry out pest control, there are cockroaches in the accommodation, and yes, we are in a central area of the city (privileged location) this will inevitably happen!

Fine for a short stay, but bring your ear-plugs if you want to get any sleep!

My dorm bed was comfortable and I liked the room that I then moved in to.

It was extremely noisy until very late at night, although the dorm was quieter than the room I moved in to.
