House of Sun visited by a Prince of Darkness: a love story

This hotel showed me the system of the future: no active staff but the guests themselves keep the House of Sun a place to be. To be honest: it's a magical place. The interior is decorated by a fairy or other kind of magical being. Antiques and paintings in my room and the commons not only fit together but create an unbelievable atmosphere. On my last day I had the honor to meet the House of Sun's proprietor. I felt in my bones she is the mastermind behind this great place to stay, enjoy and dream.

One guest was somewhat intoxicated and told me in a rough post-alcoholic stupor he would not accept me opening the door to my room at 8 am too often. Probably, he wasn't going to visit the great Peter & Paul Churches mass. Well, it wasn't the House's fault but I suppose he had problems with his partner as well as she was hungrily looking at other male guests and me... Oh dear...

lovely, calm, relaxing

Kitchen was very clean and comfortable to use, dishwasher, coffee machine, everything you need for cooking. It was very quiet, we couldn't hear our neighbors. Nice and peaceful.

Not right in the center, but the place is beautiful, walking distance from center. So it was actually something we liked.

Not what the pictures show

It was fairly quiet even though not all guests respected the quiet hours.

Mould in the bathroom and in the coffee machine. Shower head hasn't seen bleach in ages. When you look at the place in detail, it is disgusting.

room was nice and cosy, bathroom was great, layout was fine, bed was quite comfortable. overall pretty clean,

the room itself was pretty good honestly, but everything else was pretty annoying, the neighbours inside the facility were extremely noisy during night and day and made no effort to control their family in a space with other people around. ontop of that the staff member was very rude, we arrived about a couple hours earlier just to drop our bags off, and were instantly met with rudeness. this happened both when coming and leaving the property, didnt appreciate the way she was speaking. kitchen facilities were amazing when cleaned up but there was a very big lack of respect for the place by other residents, and we would come up for breakfast finding the whole place dirty with food and plates strewn everywhere. last thing is that the location is pretty strange.

Ok location, free parking, about 30 min walk from the Old Town. Decent room, kitchen available, very quiet.

You can hear everything happening in the hallway - quite annoying if you are not the one getting up at 5am. Bathroom felt outdated.

Nice and cosy

If you'll have a room near the kitchen, it's a matter of other guests if it is quite or not (as doors is not so noise-proof as we would like then to be): we faced with a big company that decided that 4 am is a good time to spend it with a joy in the kitchen). Also, please note, that tourist city fee is not included in overall summary (thankfully, owner added this in a description later).

Quiet and clean, everything is new

Hosts were helpful, kitchen was good, everything clean, bed comfortable, lots of tv channels, quiet safe neighborhood. Shower was hot and good pressure.

getting there from the bus stop on foot was challenging, including a steep climb and descent. We had room 7, which was very small. The bed is in a corner, making if difficult for the inner person to get out. Our room had a skylight so from 530 the room is no longer dark. The door is not soundproof so you hear everyone in the kitchen.

Really nice property in a quiet neighborhood

The the room was spacious and comfortable. I especially liked the rustic vibe as the whole house is tastefully decorated. The self check-in is very convenient and communication with the host was as smooth as can be. I would definitely stay here again!

I had disabled neighbour for the night who was speaking loudly for few morning hours and could not let me sleep. The hostess picked up the phone and came to help me at 4 a.m. and eventually refunded my stay for the troubles. Perfect hospitality.

A beautiful place near(ish) to a gorgeous city

It’s in a beautiful building with lots of exposed wooden beams and tiled floors. There are lots of paintings and tastefully chosen art pieces dotted around which give the place a personal touch. It’s very quiet at night. You can enjoy the morning birdsong from the balcony. The shower is hot. Host kindly replaced towels after the first night. The bed was really comfy. It’s near to the arty Uzupis neighbourhood with lots of trendy restaurants and coffee shops (and a magical cat).

The property itself was lovely but it’s a bit of a trek from the city center (maybe 30 minutes walk). I love walking so it wasn’t a problem for me, but it may be for others. The road leading there is also a little quiet and dark - recommend timing your arrival for the daylight hours.

-We had problems finding the location of this house, the location is good, but it was difficult to find the first time. For those who will be settled - do not be afraid of a long mountain passage, you need to go there. -There was no clear signage, it was not clear where to go. -TV-wasn't workin (or we didn't understand the system of this TV) -It was also a little disappointing that the photo apartment on the site and our real apartment were different apartments. I understand the number on the site is a nice example, but it would be nice to attach a photo of all the rooms that can be provided.

The place is very clean. Great location. Staff is very good although we didn't meet anyone in person but had to deal over the phone and they were more than happy to assist. Love the idea of checking in and out yourself. All the instructions are very clear and easy to follow.

Very quiet area and the B&B itself is very cozy and clean and decorated very nicely. Thank you. Will be back again.

Staff responds very quick when you contact them. Problem get solved easily. Nice, large rooms, sweet decorations in the common area.

The windows in the room weren't very secure, it felt like there was always a slight air of cold wind. Also, there is just one, undefined bottle in the shower, unclear whether that's soap, shampoo, shower gel or all in all.
