Good central location.

The location is great, have stayed here a few times since 2007 and the rooms have been upgraded. The layout of the bathroom was good.

Needed shelves or a cupboard in the bathroom (and there was plenty of room to put something like this next to the sink.)

An excellent hotel in a good location. We stayed on the way to the Dordogne area. The town is beautiful and quiet.

It was a good location, we had a nice welcome and given the opportunity to check in early. All the staff were kind and friendly. The air conditioning in the room was excellent and a joy after a hot drive. We also enjoyed an excellent and generous breakfast.

A pleasant stay in a hotel that desperately needs some TLC. The restaurant is amazing though.

Lucullus restaurant was absolutely top notch.

Lack of air conditioning - apparently it was broken. No attempt to repair No kettle in the room Bathroom needs up grading, although it was clean No English tv channels No staff to serve drinks in the bar. The bar was open, but we waited 15 minutes before someone appeared to serve us. On departure we were charged for breakfast that we didn’t have despite me having told the man that we did not have it.

Terrible rooms in this hotel - I would not stay here again.

The breakfast was good - albeit late on that morning - advised 8am however no staff there to provide this until around 8.30am.

The room was awful. Decor terrible - poor attempt at shabby chic. Only one bedside table, one bottle of water although two of us. The shower head was DISGUSTING - with green mould and when I mentioned this to reception I was just told that he would tell the cleaner. I did not have a shower during my stay as I was so afraid of Legionnaires disease or similar!

The breakfast was excellent - there was so much choice on offer and it was very delicious Also the breakfast service was warm and friendly - the staff during breakfast where so kind and friendly and would answer any question I asked.

for the entire duration of my stay I was unfortunately unable to access the wifi. Also the room was a little smaller that I expected and had no comfortable furniture such as a small sofa or comfy chair to sit in and watch tv. There were no instructions on how to switch the tv from French to English so I spent the whole time watching tv in French which was great but I cannot yet understand French fully.

Best restaurant attached to a hotel in the whole of France

The location is excellent for Montmorillon, but the best thing about this hotel is the restaurant LUCULLUS The food is the best in France I have ever had anywhere and the bonus for me is that they have always done a vegetarian set menu, which is unusual for France. We have eaten in this restaurant every year for 18 years, many times a year, sadly for us it will be the last time, because we sold our house and it was our very last evening in Montmorillon, but we are so glad we stayed here, it made leaving easier somehow!

The very dated rooms with stained threadbare carpet. The smell in the room which we had to buy air freshener to mask. We stayed 5 nights and nobody checked are room. There was a used bottle of water left on the toilet floor and a toilet that kept flushing when used.

A very picturesque town, hotel quite close to things. Pity we were a day too early for the market!

The dinner was excellent. We weren't very hungry so just had a 'plat' - mine was the best steak I've had in a long time, perfectly cooked, and my husband was impressed with his salmon.

The parking is a little risky as it's public. The main problem in the town is the dreadful one-way system, so once you find the hotel, you are nowhere near the parking. Our satnav was not working, so we got lost twice, once trying to find the hotel, once trying to get to the parking. A little map on the one-way system would have helped. The lady on reception was not interested in our problem, although she was very nice later on, I suppose because we were no longer a nuisance. It this dismissive "not my problem" attitude that gives French people the bad name they really don't deserve!

One of our rooms overlooked the street outside and there was some noise in the evening from a nearby bar but it did not continue for too long, so a minor issue.

Une chambre agréable mais au niveau de la ventilation (?) et donc assez bruillante. Le personnel est agréable quoique un peu distant. L'emplacement est parfait mais ne dispose pas de parking (ou je ne l'ai pas trouvé). Le petit déjeuner est parfait, ainsi que la formule du dîner.

Le bruit [mon sommeil est de piètre qualité]. Les équipements sont corrects [aucun endroit pour poser ses affaires de toilette et seche cheveux très basique].

L’état de l’établissement, la décrépitude du lieu, la sdb non qualifiable, la peinture abîmée sur les plinthes, les murs, les fenêtres , le plafond, la moquette limée et salle, les appuis de fenêtre marqués et usés… Tout est à reprendre ou à refaire. Il n’y a rien d’impeccable. A notre étage les plafonds étaient éventrés pour des passage de Clim. Avec la chaleur de ces derniers jours, juste un petit ventilateur dans la chambre. Le pire étant l’odeur de brûler et de soudure, bien tenace et présente suite aux travaux sur l’installation de Clim. Il aurait été plus honnête de fermer cet étage et de régler ces travaux . Il n’est pas pour autant fait de remise sur le prix de la chambre
