Check in was easy.

The property had a raised bathroom floor with no “Watch this Step” sign. Which caused my girlfriend to trip, sending us to the emergency room for four hours and her acquiring stitches in her head and a trip to the dentist when she would return back to Colombia and a black eye. She hit the toilet lid so hard it cracked. The delay in care was so slow, we used towels to apply pressure. When someone showed up it was a maintenance guy, who looked around the room with no medical necessities. Soon the second person came, but no medical necessities and was in a rush to clean the room. However, I had already taken photos. When the first aid finally came, they didn’t have the bandages necessary. We went to the hospital and spent four hours there and we came back to the hotel to rest and check out in the morning. Overall, the experience was terrible.

A great stay with a war,m welcome to Rio.

We had a wonderful stay at the Novotel RJ Santos hotel. Without exception all of the staff made us feel very welcome. We don’t speak Portuguese but everyone made a great effort to either speak English to us or to understand what we wanted. We had breakfast and our evening meals at the hotel every day and both were exceptional. The food was delicious and great value for money. Our room was spotlessly clean. If we go to Rio de Janeiro again we will definitely choose to stay at this hotel.

Novotel Santos Dumont in Rio made for a very satisfactory stay. The rooms were clean and cozy, creating a comfortable environment to unwind after exploring the city. The staff proved to be a highlight; their friendliness and flexibility stood out, always ready to assist with our needs. Breakfast and lunch at the hotel were exceptional, featuring a wide variety of dishes that catered to all tastes. Both meals left us delighted and eagerly awaiting the next. In summary, Novotel Santos Dumont provides a pleasant stay with commendable services, delicious food, and amiable staff. I would definitely recommend it for a stay in Rio.

While the check-in process was slightly longer than expected, it was a minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of the enjoyable stay. The staff managed this situation well, ensuring it didn't overshadow the overall experience.

Rude staff who used the language barrier to not extend customer service

Very close to the airport which is why we picked this hotel since we arrived late we didn’t want to stay far from airport.

The staff. They used the language barrier to completely ignore guests. The staff had just closed the bar and told us we could go to room and call for room service. We did call for room service which took us about four calls because they kept transferring us and then hanging up. After requesting cocktail which the front desk said we could order and staying up for over an hour they never showed up. We called them and they acted like they couldn’t understand us even though I tried to speak with them and the person spoke Spanish which I also spoke Spanish. Just horrible staff. No accountability whatsoever.

Very convenient for an early flight at Dumont airport. Bed is super confortable, the shower hot and pressure really nice. staff is also super reactive and helpful.

The shower was a bit old, but nothing bad. if you’d like to explore Rio, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel as the location isn’t the greatest (from my POV).

Close to the airport, but do not trust the staff to be neither helpful nor efficient.

Walking distance from SDU airport.

Possibly the slowest check-in process I've seen. No English spoken. Wrong information about facilities. I chose this hotel to use the gym between an intercontinental and a national flight... in the morning the gym was closed and no staff had a key, and made up all stories about maintenance shutting the room and leaving the hotel. Hardly believable, really disappointed. I recommend you go elsewhere if that's important for you. Furniture is tired, in-room safe was broken (in?)
