Disappointing but close to the motorway so met our needs

It was clean & very close to the motorway

Very disappointed. We’ve stayed here before but it was very shabby & not well kept. Firstly on our arrival there were no outside lights to the hotel so difficult to find our room. There was a large chunk of concrete missing from the wall. Inside the room the mirror rattled when you opened & closed the door. In the bathroom the toilet flush was ineffectual & there were cracks in the washbasin glaze. Finally there was a hole in the quilt cover

Clean room, stayed here many times before so everything as expected. Excellent for overnight stop just off motorway. Evening meal good, limited choice but very adequate. Good breakfast.

Only 2 teabags and 2 milks in room. A bit mean for two people! Probably could have asked for more but after long day of travelling too tired.

The hotel served it's purpose and was cheapish.

The room was comfortable but very basic.

It could have been cleaner. I found cat biscuits on the floor and a baby cockroach ran across my bed and onto my partners bed. Also Camponile hotels I've stayed in before have been good, this one left a lot to be desired. I would think again before booking a Camponile based on the experience here.

Location is handy for Calais

Room smelt very strongly of body odour and cigarettes, animals. I’m not usually able to detect smells that well but the room was so horrible. I felt like I could barely breathe. The room was disgustingly old and grimy. Nothing worked. The shower cycled through being burning hot and freezing cold . The sink tap sprayed water on you. There was mould in the bathroom. I have used Campanile hotels before and they were okay, but this one is absolutely appalling. The hotel is not like other functional chain hotels. The staff were not very friendly. We booked a family room with a double bed and a single bed. The lady at reception said they had given our room to someone else and we just had one bed. It was only when I was about to contact booking.com that she reluctantly added a guest bed. What is not clear as there is actually no space for the extra bed so you could barely get to the bathroom also the guest bed kept collapsing.

Location was perfect for our journey. Good value supermarket nearby. Polite staff and free WiFi

The bathroom sink had cracks than a builders convention. Toilet seat was broken and had a huge black hair on it. Towels clean but like sandpaper with holes in. We could hear people snoring in the next room, dogs barking and sounded like lord of the dance rehearsing upstairs at 6am

Budget, but great for the money and location

Location was perfect for getting to early shuttle, just off the motorway. Fast food walkable for dinner and Sophie bakery open at 6.30am for breakfast. Rooms well equipped, tea (black and herbal), coffee (regular and decaf), hairdryer, hand soap etc. Will be coming back next time.

A lot to improve to get back to the old days

I'd stayed at Campanille Bethune before in 2013 and the layout of the building had changed very little since, but it's still quite smart and at a great price. The lady on reception was very friendly

When we arrived on Saturday evening there was only one employee in the whole of the hotel. The choice of food in the restaurant was extremely limited - main dish of fish and rice, which when it arrived was only luke warm.

Great place to use as a launchpad into France and beyond.

Staff were brilliant, very friendly and accommodating. They brought breakfast times forward to accommodate my early start. It was very easy to reach from the N26 toll and felt safe, and it's less than an hours drive from the ferry port. The bar/restaurant has an external seating area which was welcome on such a warm evening.

The rooms are basic but functional. A few of the fittings are in need of repair/replacement but nothing that is going to ruin your stay.

Location and ease of parking

The toilet was stained brown. At round 10pm the toilet broke and would not flush. It was too late to ask for a change of room so we had to use the toilet only when necessary.

The property has dated from the photos, and in parts a dangerous state of repair needed with exposed screws. The hotel building seperate from the reception is accessed through external spiral staircases- family room with pull out bed was not made up and was located in the attic space. Sheets were dirty and although two rooms were booked together we were advised that we weren’t allowed to have rooms together as we have booked the rooms on a saver rate. As a good location it is used by tradesman and working persons - and is clearly more suited to this than tourism guest. Staff were short in number meaning guests were left waiting and breakfast was slow to be replenished. Avoid is you have mobility issues.

Convenient location just of A26 motorway. Good parking near to room considering my disabled wife. Staff were friendly and helpful. Girl on reception made us some food due to restaurant being closed.

Location.

There was only one member of staff, working very hard, but it isn’t possible to run a hotel/restaurant on your own!. If you are doing one thing you can’t be found another!. The evening meal was pizza or meatballs, not good!.

A very basic level of accommodation, that's not expensive, but consider eating elsewhere.

Wifi was free. Bed was comfortable. Kettle worked well. Tea, coffee and biscuits were replenished daily. The room appeared to be clean. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The sink in the bathroom looked like it had previously been smashed and stuck together with glue. The TV that looked good, had loads of international channels listed, but only those in French worked. Breakfasts were very basic. The only fruit available most days were apples, and on one day there were a couple of old-looking bananas; because of this we didn't eat there in the evenings.

Not geared up for large parties

The room was clean and tidy

We were part of a large group, they knew we were coming and yet they did not have to staff to accommodate us, there was one person on reception, one working the bar and one chef when we arrived, we paid for a 'meal deal' so buffet starter, buffet dessert and a choice of mains, we ended up not ordering mains as the staff weren't set up and waited an hour for them to take our order so gave up!!! On leaving, I handed my key card into Recep and left (like I would in Premier Inn as everything already paid) 2 hours later I had €37 taken from my bank account and have no idea what it's for, I'm still waiting for them to reply to my emails. Others in the group also had charges they weren't expecting on their bills and monies taken.
