Superb location, right on the main square, opposite the historic belfry. Lots of history around, especially from the Great War. Easily accessible property, with good public parking available on the next street (Rue Albert). Comfortable room. Very friendly staff. Great in-house bar and restaurant, easily better than any of the other eateries on the Grand Place. Reasonably priced menu in the restaurant, with good quality cuisine.

Nothing too bad. The wonky curtain rail and the sliding bathroom door frame hanging off its hinges wasn't too much of a problem, other than messing with my OCD!

It’s location

Parking may have been tricky if we hadn’t arrived after 6.30 on a Saturday evening with parking free after that time and on Sunday but there are plenty of spaces in the square. The staff were OK, not overly helpful but fine.

Good value for money, however check whether the bathroom has a door!

Centrally located on the historical market place opposite of the carpark entrance. Restaurant with nice terrace outside and a good choice of menus. Lift. During our first 2 stays we had a convenient room and bathroom. Ventilator to keep us as cool as possible.

This time (3rd stay within a month's time) there was no door between the room and the bathroom facilities. Just a curtain. One can imagine the smells and sounds! The outside restaurant tables cannot be booked in advance, not even for hotel guests. The only tables left were for 4 persons, whilst other groups of 4 sat at 2 x 2 person tables. We were not allowed a table for 4, so we decided to have dinner elsewhere on the market place. Although in average this hotel is good value for money, this time's experience makes us think twice before booking again. On nice summer days, the noise from the lively marketplace continues until deep in the night, so difficult to sleep with the windows open in a hot stuffy room.

Great place for a short stay.

Great location on the Grande Place - plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. Although our room overlooked the square and it was Friday night, the noise wasn't enough to keep us awake. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was good and reasonably priced. There's an underground car park nearby. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, especially the guy on reception. We would stay again if in the area.

We're glad we weren't staying a few days earlier at the height of the heatwave as there is no air conditioning in the rooms.

Breakfast was plentiful, and a great menu for evening meals in the restaurant. Front row seats for the Tour de France were a wonderful bonus.

Wonderful location, staff couldn’t be friendlier, very clean, lovely to sit outside with a beer in the square.

Overall it was a good stay but the hotel management need to update their bathrooms and materials

Ithr rooms were fine. Just very tired with loose fixtures and old materials. Rooms were very cold and heating wasn’t on but there was a mobile radiator supplied in each room that helped a little. Value for money for the room only was good. The restaurant and breakfast was expensive for the quality given.

Short 2 day break away in Bethune

Our stay at Le Vieux Beffroi, as usual, was lovely. Sitting directly on the square in town, our view over the Christmas market was superb. We had an executive style room, which gave us more space over the standard rooms. Service at reception was very good staff were cheery and the meals in the restaurant were good. Breakfast was varied, and the buffet food was good. All in all, a great stay fere again.

The hotel is in the centre of town right across from the main square very handy for cafes/bars and shops, however be aware, it was weekend when we stayed and loud music, singing and shouting from outside these bars kept us awake until the early hours.

In the hotel description it said that parking was available, however this was definitely not the case. We had to use a public car park a few streets away from the hotel for which there was an hourly charge. There was no one staffing the reception when we arrived, someone from the adjoining restaurant helped us out with our check-in.

Exceptional

I was impressed with the amazing view through the window. Nice and clean room with VERY comfortable big double bed. And on breakfast I had the most delicious cappuccino noisette.

We pay extra for the breakfast but it wasn't very good. We would suggest to have your breakfast in the small snack shop that is around the corner.
