Comfortable room, perfectly located very close to the main square. Reception staff were really friendly

It was a base
It was soulless, lightning in the stairwell dangerous, hole in ceiling and the whole place felt tired and run down and there was a very unpleasant smell.

This was our first stay in Bethune and we found the hotel to be ideally located for access to the main square and bars and restaurants. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Our room was comfortable and very clean. The only slight issue was the fact that the separate toilet facility was in a very small space.

Nothing. This is a hostel, not a hotel. The room was not as described whatsoever. Small, dingy, smelly hovel of a room. Corridor to room and stairways down to ground floor pitch black. Bathroom ok. Hostel shut on arrival, have to call to get a code, very late check in.
Description of room stated soundproofed, private entrance to executive lounge and hot tub in room with wine/champagne. No idea what that was about but as you can guess this wasn’t in our room.
All in all, advert showing room we booked nothing like what we got. See pictures. Will never darken their doors again. Buyer beware!
€80 for this hostel is a ludicrous overprice.

Pleasant hotel in good location, two minutes walk from main square. Good buffet breakfast. Secure parking for motorbike.
Small room with no external window (although I did choose the budget option.

A very good-sized room with a comfortable bed.
The location is extremely convenient to the main square and there is quite a lot of parking nearby (the time and day of arrival will dictate what time the parking needs to cover up to the next morning, or if not required e.g. on a Sunday).
Hotel receptionist was friendly and polite (limited English-spoken, however, to be fair, not much communication is required to check-in or out!).
There was construction going on around/next to the hotel which meant its street entrance was not accessible by car and we had to carry our bags from the nearby street - over gravel so not wheel-friendly!. I suppose this will change once works are completed.

The location in a quiet area but steps from the shops and bars
Coffee machine in room
Dated hotel but clean
Our bedroom, although called Superior, was very small and had a very small double bed for 2 people, was ok for one night passing through
Did not use the shower facility as the buildings opposite look right into the bathroom, toilet is separate but can touch the door with your knees
There was no one there at check in (opens at 5pm) so had to wander around by ourselves trying to work out where everything was
The hotel does not mention that the square in front is closed at the moment for building work, so is very difficult to access, but we eventually found paid street parking very close by

The hotel is close to the main square in Bethune, a town we know well having stayed there many times. Other than that, there was nothing to recommend this hotel.
We were told that we couldn't arrive before 5pm, which is pretty late for a hotel and especially after a long drive. At 5pm, there was no-one in the hotel. We phoned the number on the door and told to let ourselves in and how to find the key to our room. Very shabby.
Just a few days before we arrived, we were told that there are roadworks outside the hotel and you can't access it by car. Luckily we found a car park close to the hotel and walked over dug-up pavements to the hotel. All-together a really bad experience which we will not repeat.

The bathrooms need renovation…

Staff were excellent. Easy parking, free 6.30pm-8am. Great breakfast. Great location. Very quiet at night due to room overlooking courtyard not street. Good shower and bathroom.
I thought I had booked a bigger room with booking.com upgrade so was surprised to be in a very small Budget room. The bed was pretty hard (although, to be fair, that's better than too soft).

Patricia runs an affordable , home from home , stylish hotel which is welcoming ,practical and well situated within the town. Breakfast is simple , self service buffet style competitively priced , with no staff intervention which was tranquil and worked well. The hotel although aged is well maintained and has everything you need for a pleasant stay and has a certain ambience . Patricia works hard with a minimum of fuss to maintain the high standards she sets and is a very approachable hostess.
We would highly recommend Eden as a lovely place to stay for however long your visit 😀
Bravo Patricria! 👏 Jusqu'à la prochaine fois!
Vic et Anne ❣️
Although paid parking ( free overnight) is available adjacently , we used the huge free car park at Place General de Gaulle which is a 10 minute walk away , which was fine for us able bodied adults but maybe not so good for more infirm or little ones but certainly not insurmountable. -20 minute drop off available!

The continental breakfast was very good, Staff were lovely, great relaxed atmosphere. Hotel was in excellant position, a few minutes walk to the the Grand Place which had lots of great bars and restaurants and Bethune itself is a good place as a base for the area.

Location being very close to the hub of the city, with bars and restaurants a plenty.
No air con (fan provided) but this would not stop me from booking again or recommending to others.

Perfect location right in town centre and additional secure courtyard parking offered for motorcycles. Good breakfast and good value overall
Nothing bearing in mind the price

Wow! What a fabulous welcome and a special place for us to park our motorbikes. Our rooms were spacious and nicely decorated with all amenities. Comfortable beds and quality bed linen and towels. Brilliantly close to the central town square where there was so many bars and restaurants to chose from. We ate seafood at Yes & Co.
We couldn’t stay longer.

The hotel staff were so helpful we arrived early and was able to check in straight away, we were also upgraded free of charge and had a lovely room
We were able to park our motorcycles in the inner courtyard
The room was lovely and clean, the hotel was in the town centre and close to the main square for restaurants and bars etc all in all a great stay

Terrific location near main square and next to a car park
The room and bed were small, we were told we had been upgraded to a standard double. Lord knows what we were going in originally then.

Very lovely lady on reception, invited us to park our Vespas in the courtyard! Simple hotel in excellent location. Very close to the main square which was a pleasant surprise. Good breakfast at reasonable price.

An excellent location that is less than a minutes walk from the main square. Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Staff were very helpful and allowed me to park my motorcycle inside the courtyard. The breakfast was also very good. I will stay again later in the year.
Nothing. Everything met my expectations.

location - right in city Center
just an earlier breakfast option. as it was a Saturday morning breakfast started at 8 AM. Too late for us as we lad to leave to catch our ferry.

lovely helpful staff, the location was excellent and the general areas of the hotel were pleasant.
beds were small, in tiny rooms with little space and the mattresses were short and not that comfortable - too old/soft

Great location close to A26.
Public parking outside hotel. Great breakfast v comfortable room, nothing to reduce satisfaction with an excellent stopover.
Also Bethune is a fine city/town worth a visit on its own account.
The grand Place is genuinely impressive.
Room was perhaps too warm and it was hard to open the window.

Ibis have retained the classic décor which fits well with the beautiful surroundings. Bethune has a charming atmosphere and the main square close to Hotel Eden boasts the best French restaurant I've encountered in that country. My room was comfortable and well equipped. The breakfast was adequate and the staff efficient.
No hotel restaurant or bar, although within very easy walking distance there was an excellent restaurant. Breakfast, which is reasonable, nevertheless comes with a surcharge. The staff, as with most Ibis hotels, were coolly professional, but not overtly welcoming, and the rooms can be a little hard to find (mine was amongst those to be found in a passage entered by a closed door with no markings on it. I only tried it because it didn't have a No Entry sign or a room number).
