Most Enjoyable, Staff very Helpful & Friendly. Comfortable Rooms & very good Amenities.

I live in the South & Travelled up to Middlesbrough to see my Family as I wont see them over the Christmas & New Year Period. I Booked a Table for us all to have the Christmas Menu together. All my Family enjoyed the experience, the Food was well Cooked & Hot when delivered to the Table, the portions were huge, none us cleared our Plates as there was some much food on the Plate, what was eaten was delicious.

There isnt any fault I can find with this Hotel, I stay regularly because of the Staff/Comfort & Cleanliness of the Hotel. I would certainly recommend to anybody travelling & staying over night in Middlesbrough.

Location is Central for all amenities. Free Car Parking & lovely Cooked Breakfast to set you for the Day. A wide choice of Evening Meal on the Menu, Cooked to your preference. Wide Range of Beers/Lagers & Wines etc.

I could not find a fault with my Stay, if I can have one niggle, as a Smoker I went & sat outside for a Smoke & a Coffee @ 08.00am when I went back to my Room, I was locked out & had to go & find a Staff Member to revalidate my Card Entry to my Room.

I would say my stay this time was just ok , however we’ve enjoyed it more on previous visits .

We paid for breakfast in the morning separately and really enjoyed it !

We was disappointed with our room size as we’ve booked on 3 other occasions and had a bigger room given to us . We found it was set up for single occupancy for our stay as only one off everything in the room . Towels / tea cups . I booked a meal online for 9pm dining eating / drinking and when arrived at the bar at my booking time was told all food stopped at 9pm , very confused as I showed the bar staff my booking slot for 9pm and was told nothing he could do as no staff cooking after 9pm .we did get a takeaway and was able to use facilities down stairs and enjoyed a drink from the bar ! Shame really as we always enjoy our stay at this hotel when visiting for the parkrun and the football at the riverside stadium.

Staff very polite and helpful. Plenty of choice at breakfast.

Shower kept going hot and cold, this fault was reported. Found the breakfast greasy. Fan in bathroom was noisy had to turn off to get some sleep.

Altogether pleasant facility in Middlesbrough

Room was very large, beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of natural light on arrival. Staff were demonstratively competent, and open to a bit of banter which is always appreciated. Food was well prepared and tasty, and breakfast was generously apportioned.

Self-service elements were taken a bit too far in my opinion, and the fact that the building is a pub first, hotel second, did mean that until the pub closed there was some audible noise from the TV that happened to be installed immediately beneath my room.

Great value accommodation and food with nice staff.

This is a large hotel with significant public use of the bar and restaurant. I was very surprised in a good way that a main course of Steak and Ale Pie and chips and peas was only £8.99. What a bargain and it was nice too! The room was comfy, the staff were good and there is lots of parking.

Dog friendly and helpful staff

The radiator in our room seemed to be damaged and the heat was unbearable, the reception said there was no heating on ! Our dog was in distress she was so warm. We were given a different room and all this was 1am, not what we wanted after a five and a half hour drive. No compensation was given.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, easy parking.Good choice items for breakfast hot and cold. Restaurant at hotel had good choices reasonably priced. Central enough to explore an array of surrounding locations within an hr drive.

A few of the chairs in the pub were stained on seats, but easy enough to swop over for a cleanet one.

We got a lovely welcome, room was nice, clean and the bed was great. We had an evening meal which we thoroughly enjoyed and the breakfast was very good.

The only thing we thought was that there was only one bath towel for two people. It might have been an oversight.

Plastic left on the carpet. Room was prepared for only one person (1 cup, 1 towel set) but we booked for three - had to ask for 2 additional towel sets. Room on top of the entrance, could hear the conversations below. Could hear the bar below - even if the noise didn’t last long.

Lovely clean hotel nice cheap price and allows dogs

Room was lovely and the price was really good, also was dog friendly , we had our French bulldog with us and he was allowed to be in the restaurant with us when we had evening meal and breakfast, usually dog friendly places make you eat outside or separate area so this was a bonus for me

Hotel is ideally located to suit the reason for my stay, which was visiting Family & Friends.

Room was Clean & Warm with fresh Linen. Bed was very comfortable with additional Pillows to suit requirements. Breakfast was delicious/well cooked & hot when served to my Table, with plenty of options for Breakfast.

Nothing really spoilt my stay. Perhaps a little busy in late afternoon/early evening with Children having meals. But I stayed in my Room on these busy periods, so no affect on my stay.

No power in the shower water trickled out cold tap on the sink was both hot and cold even without moving it bin men emptying the bottles at 6.45 outside my bedroom window doors slamming all night cooked breakfast would not fill a child i would not stay there again for free....
