The location is what we needed.

Room was set up for 1 person. Room menu was literally covered in food. The shower was like a intermittent with hot then cold water. Kids playing in the corridors early mornings.

Fantastic value for money and a very warm welcome!

After a very long day, I didn’t arrive til after 9pm so it was straight to bed for me! I was given a warm welcome by an efficent receptionist. although travelling alone I booked a double bed for a comfort the room was warm and cozy with every facility needed for a short stay - a clean and very comfortable bed, large tv, ironing facilities, lots of hot water and refreshments on hand. Despite being over a bar, I was not disturbed at all and the corridor was very quiet. I awoke refreshed ready for my long journey home. I chose a continental breakfast which was well- set out and plentiful. A helpful and friendly waitress assisted me with local information. I have no hesitation in recommending this central hotel - it was excellent value with extremely helpful staff.

It wasn’t a matter of disliking it but I would always prefer a ground floor bedroom simply because side I had a lot of luggage a d a recent knee operation and I struggled a bit with the stairs - I wasn’t aware that they had a few bedrooms downstairs and I will certainly be enquiring the next time I book there.

Comfortable, warm and great check in time.

Very comfortable room, liked the check in time, clean and top floor so was quiet. Heating was great and the room offered real comfort from the horrible weather outside.

I was given a key card for room 31 that opened room 30 and had to make sure they didn't allocate someone to room 30 due to the card key issue.

I live in the South & Travelled up to Middlesbrough to see my Family as I wont see them over the Christmas & New Year Period. I Booked a Table for us all to have the Christmas Menu together. All my Family enjoyed the experience, the Food was well Cooked & Hot when delivered to the Table, the portions were huge, none us cleared our Plates as there was some much food on the Plate, what was eaten was delicious.

There isnt any fault I can find with this Hotel, I stay regularly because of the Staff/Comfort & Cleanliness of the Hotel. I would certainly recommend to anybody travelling & staying over night in Middlesbrough.

Location is Central for all amenities. Free Car Parking & lovely Cooked Breakfast to set you for the Day. A wide choice of Evening Meal on the Menu, Cooked to your preference. Wide Range of Beers/Lagers & Wines etc.

I could not find a fault with my Stay, if I can have one niggle, as a Smoker I went & sat outside for a Smoke & a Coffee @ 08.00am when I went back to my Room, I was locked out & had to go & find a Staff Member to revalidate my Card Entry to my Room.

I would say my stay this time was just ok , however we’ve enjoyed it more on previous visits .

We paid for breakfast in the morning separately and really enjoyed it !

We was disappointed with our room size as we’ve booked on 3 other occasions and had a bigger room given to us . We found it was set up for single occupancy for our stay as only one off everything in the room . Towels / tea cups . I booked a meal online for 9pm dining eating / drinking and when arrived at the bar at my booking time was told all food stopped at 9pm , very confused as I showed the bar staff my booking slot for 9pm and was told nothing he could do as no staff cooking after 9pm .we did get a takeaway and was able to use facilities down stairs and enjoyed a drink from the bar ! Shame really as we always enjoy our stay at this hotel when visiting for the parkrun and the football at the riverside stadium.

Altogether pleasant facility in Middlesbrough

Room was very large, beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of natural light on arrival. Staff were demonstratively competent, and open to a bit of banter which is always appreciated. Food was well prepared and tasty, and breakfast was generously apportioned.

Self-service elements were taken a bit too far in my opinion, and the fact that the building is a pub first, hotel second, did mean that until the pub closed there was some audible noise from the TV that happened to be installed immediately beneath my room.

This is a large hotel with significant public use of the bar and restaurant. I was very surprised in a good way that a main course of Steak and Ale Pie and chips and peas was only £8.99. What a bargain and it was nice too! The room was comfy, the staff were good and there is lots of parking.

Dog friendly and helpful staff

The radiator in our room seemed to be damaged and the heat was unbearable, the reception said there was no heating on ! Our dog was in distress she was so warm. We were given a different room and all this was 1am, not what we wanted after a five and a half hour drive. No compensation was given.
