Good for leisure and fitness activities and short stays.

Clean, comfortable, good sized pool, steam room jacuzzi and sauna. Easy to park near main entrance and no traffic noise. Spacious grounds and lawns. Television in room was excellent.

Some of the furniture in the bedroom was dated and tired. Most chairs in rooms and restaurant were worn out and uncomfortable. Bar area not cosy or inviting.

The pool is a good size and the steam room was also great. The Breakfast was good and all the staff were very nice and helpful.

Things do need a bit of an upgrade, bedroom cupboards, carpets. But I enjoyed my stay so will revisit for sure.

Lovely place to stay

Room size was larger than I expected. Staff were polite and helpful.

Unfortunately our stay was only for one night, we would look at staying for longer.

Probably the worse hotel I have stayed in.

Breakfast is good and quick service.

Hotel no longer clean the rooms or replenish tea/coffee. No longer any biscuits in room. This is a low quality hotel in need of renovation so to no longer service the rooms during the stay is the final nail in the coffin. Our company will not be staying there any more. Fire alarm goes off most nights and staff just ignore it (usually people smoking in their rooms). Boiler makes loud thudding noise about every 2 mins all through the night. It sounds like someone in the next room is slamming their door as loud as they could. I was due for 4 nights but left after 3 and found a better option.

I will not be back

To be perfectly honestly nothing .

The hygiene in the rooms are shocking for arrival hairs all over bath and sink along with nail clippings on the floor . Having to leave a shower running for 10 15 mins just to get hot water to shower 2 adults and chilled no hot water running through sink for at least 20mins of leaving the tap running. No fresh towels were brought in or room cleaned either.

Have always stayed these annually over the years with rooms due an update.

Access to the gym and pool facilities was a big plus. Food in the old post breakfast and lunch were great along with staff service. Housekeepers were also very friendly. Tea station in room was great including mugs as option.

Housekeeping were knocking on doors very early with noise traveling down hallway. Would recommend the property to consider a water dispenser station and ice machine for guest use. Electrical outlets in room very limited, would recommend updating electric ports to accommodate more universal chargers.

A disappointment from the start

Nothing.

Hotel is vast and if your at the furthest point it's a long walk to reception because there's no telephone to ring them. I had to do a 200m walk several times in the first hour I was there to complain about the room.. The curtains were hanging down, no plug sockets near bed.. No heating in mid November. The furniture is all dated, scuffed and scratched. I was charged an extra 50% of the cost of the room just for an early check in and my little dog making the cost of the room in total over £100 for one night. When I checked in I was told my room was at the furthest point in the hotel and that it was best for me to drive my brand new car down a pot hole ridden dirt track to the skips at the back of the hotel... What a first impression.. Not. Would never stay again.

The staff were all very helpful, especially ruby at reception. The breakfast staff were excellent and very helpful and friendly.

Uncomfortable beds and rock hard pillows and worn duvets . No mattress protectors or pillow covers. No ventilation in the bathroom . Which meant the floor got slippery and you then couldn’t use the mirror

Functional, but not a great experience overall. Additional charge for dog makes it not cheap either!

Staff were mostly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very nice. Nice to be able to take our dog with us anywhere in the hotel, including for breakfast.

I was annoyed to be charged an extra £15 per night on arrival for our dog being with us. This additional charge was not obvious while comparing prices with other dog friendly hotels in the area on Booking.com. First room we were given had twin beds, not a double as we had intended, but worse than that there was a very strong smell of smoke in the room. We could not have slept in there. Second room was better, though still pretty tired looking with stained carpet and a very tired bathroom nothing like the images we found online!

It served a purpose.

All the staff were very helpful and polite, room was a good size, had a lovely swim in the pool, delicious breakfast. The 2 members of staff at breakfast were exceptional, working like trojion horses, so nice.

The bed in the room was pushed up against the wall, so one of us would of had to climb out the bottom of the bed, plenty of room to of put the bed central, we actually pushed the bed away from the wall, but headboard is screwed to the wall. There was a musty smell about the room. The plastic toilet seat broke, and the bathroom was small, so it was hard to manoeuvre. It would be better to take the bath out and just have a shower in there. Disappointed at breakfast to see hotel guests coming to eat in their nightwear, one in particular had a very skimpy nightie, have never seen this before, should be a no no.

Convenient for our needs. Driving from Kent to pick up my aunt from Northallerton and return the next day.

The fire alarm going off at 4am. With a 5 hour drive the next day it wasn’t good. No apology given at check out.
