Ubud overcrowded but not the fault of the hotel

Great place to stay, good property, well maintained, caring staff. Well suited for people who like calm and pleasant stays. A free shuttle to the ubud centre helps your transportation.

Absolutely stunning..real Bali

Our stay at Tanah Gajah was a wonderful experience; it exceeded our expectations. The entire team was very attentive to our well-being, always friendly and eager to help. We were celebrating an important event, and the entire team remembered this and prepared a picnic for us. We also enjoyed the spa and the excellent restaurant overlooking the rice fields. The entire resort is spread over a very large area, so we didn't feel crowded or surrounded by other people. We will definitely want to return—we already miss it.

Everything was absolutely amazing! Most beautiful and serene hotel grounds. Lots of space and different areas to relax in. We stayed in villa with pool and was absolute luxury. Beautiful communal pools also. Food was amazing and such genuinely lovely and friendly staff. Spa was superb and lovely little gym overlooking rice fields. Lots of lovely little touches and enjoyed afternoon tea and having pre-dinner cocktail watching the hot air balloon. Want to come back as could stay forever in this little gem!

perfect location for a calm and relaxing time, offering excellent food in Villa breakfast and a great selection of drinks and wine. Attending the Tuesday and Friday night Kecak dance is an absolute must when staying at Tanah Gajah resort. The resort is far enough away from the bustle of Ubud but just a short hotel car ride away to go shopping or exploring art and culture. It is so good that we have returned at least once every since our first stay in 2014 (except for COVID shutdown times) Definitely worth the travel. The ideal place to stay.

I love the landscape there

Overall is good

The grounds of the hotel are very beautiful, with several sculptures. The room was of a good size, nicely decorated and comfortable. And the staff was just superb - really helpful, quick to react, polite. It is rather small hotel so it feels very private. Their whatsapp 'concierge' was very convenient, and the staff responded promptly.

The pool is located in a nice area, however, it is not heated.

Location and grounds were amazing. The pool in particular was gorgeous. Staff very friendly and helpful. The activities like the rice paddy walk were a highlight. Our guide from the hotel was wonderful taking us through the rice fields and the local village. The morning Yoga sessions a great start to the day. Loved the Breakfasts'.....knockout smoothies!

Beautiful grounds, amazing staff and great food! Drinks in the room were a very nice touch. Fantastic spa. Very relaxing place to stay.

We as a couple stayed at several luxury resorts in our extended Bali trip and our favorite is Tanah Gajah. Their hospitality is the best. All the staffs are personal, warm and the happiest we've seen compared to other resorts. We are amazed that the management team find time to greet and chat with guests while staying on top of everything. The grounds is beautiful, authentic with traditional Balinese touch. Every corner seems to be well-maintained and cared with love. The villa comes with its private pool, outdoor courtyard, complimentary liquors, complimentary daily laundry service, daily fresh fruit basket. Each request like extra towels, drinks, food, spa availability/booking, tour seamlessly delivered within minutes. Some of our favorite moments at Tanah Gajah: pleasant walk within the beautiful and massive grounds (the property is huge); quietness overlook the peaceful rice paddy field while having breakfast; Balinese massages by Manik; morning yoga with Dewq; amazing dinner customized by head chef Dean on our preference; rice paddy walk with Agna; They also provide complimentary private rides to/from uBud town but we enjoyed our time at the resort so much we didn't make it to the town during the stay lol

Amazing staff that went above and beyond. The Club Benefits were a brilliant idea. Amazing food and the breakfast was delicious. The villa was so spacious and the outdoor bath is incredible.

Food option. The restaurant has very limited options. Breakfast was good but gets boring if you are staying long.

We stayed with two young children. Beautiful place, professional and lovely staff, attention to detail. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful gardens, and views of the rice paddies really made for a relaxing stay. Photos on the site don’t do justice to the property or rooms. Excellent staff, the use of a WhatsApp group as a virtual concierge was a great idea. Loved the afternoon tea.
