Got food poisoning multiple times couldn't eat anything there as the kitchens were disgusting

The staff were first class, very responsive and helpful, exceeding our expectations in our requests. The breakfast was great with a wide variety of choices. The morning yoga was great. The beautiful beachfront and lawn furnishings were a great draw too.

We did stay shortly after some flooding. The staff were exceptional in ensuring we were looked after despite the local area being affected.

Wonderful boutique hotel where life is tranquil and perfect. Staff are outstanding. Liked free morning yoga on the roof and the healthy food choices. Life is pretty perfect at the Royal Purnama. Love the black volcanic sand. We ate at the restaurant most nights, and loved the food and free entertainment (dancing, singing ... they go to some effort to do something low key but nice each night). Liked 'no kids' aspect as pool was tranquil.

It is not really near anything for tourists (wasn't a problem for us as we were SO happy to stay in this little resort, swim, read, eat, and do yoga or gym). One night we ate next door ... not so impressed. Much prefer the Royal Purnama. Beach is not so clean and no hotel lounges on the beach ... it is a community beach. But we were fine at the pool and just looking at all the locals having fun flying kites. Kind of nice that tourists haven't got priority over locals for the beach.

The property is so pretty. Beautiful and spacious room. The breakfast buffet menu was just amazing. Loved it!

Exceptional stay at The Royal Purnama – pure Balinese magic! Our stay at The Royal Purnama Luxury Adults Only was absolutely unforgettable. The spacious and cozy villa, beautifully designed in traditional Balinese style, immediately made us feel at home. We were mesmerized by the powerful ocean just a few steps away, and we truly enjoyed long walks along the shore with its unique black volcanic sand — a rare and beautiful sight. The morning yoga sessions were a highlight, especially thanks to the serene location of the yoga space. Everything about the resort felt carefully curated and deeply relaxing. The staff were always warm, welcoming, and attentive. Afternoon tea was a delightful daily ritual, and the evening programs — including a private cinema experience for two — made our stay even more special. A very special thank you to the General Manager, Barry, whose professionalism, kindness, and genuine passion for hospitality left a lasting impression. It’s clear he puts his heart into everything he does, and it truly elevates the entire guest experience. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a peaceful and luxurious escape in Bali.

It was a beautiful property and the villas absolutely gorgeous. The food was really good and the staff very friendly.

Location on a beautiful black sand beach. Great if you are looking to get away from the busy areas, meaning not walkable to central locations but not a far drive to Sanur Beach restaurants and shops.

Breakfast was absolutely amazing but some work could be done on dinner. Extremely overcooked chicken and fish and lacking flavor with the ribs. A good marinade would help that.

Everything was fantastic. The staff especially were so friendly and helpful. The room was awesome and food was very high quality.

- Hotel is quiet far from the attractions - A/c didn’t work well, so most night we slept without blankets taking in consideration that there was mosquitoes around us . -bathroom and shower room was opened directly to the swimming pool and garden without any door ,Which allowed the entry of lizards and Centipede insects, it was really difficult especially at night as they enter under the doors Into the room were we are sleeping. There was no variety in breakfast. It would have been better if it was a buffet.

It’s far from most places

Quiet, very personal. The property is stunning and the staff were just beautiful. The location is a little out of the way, but that was exactly why we chose it.

The showers. Ran hot to cold you couldnt regulate the temperature.

When we arrive at the resort, the management team upgraded our room to a villa and the villa was beautiful! We even had our own pool which was a bonus!

The staff is extremely nice and helpful, the food is very good, the atmosphere is lovely, the common spaces are high quality and the amenities satisfy every need you might have. The staff gives a lot of extra during your stay to make it more memorable.

The birds were very loud and made it hard to sleep during the night. The lack of proper soundproofing is very dissapointing in such a high quality hotel (open bathroom, slidings door without proper closure).

Great place to unwind and relax. No screaming kids, delicious food from the restaurant, very accommodating they will definitely make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. Very pleasant staff.

The view of the ocean, the pool and garden was superb. The food was excellent with a great menu. All staff were very helpful and extremely friendly. Rooms and pool were amazing, everything was comfortable and relaxing.

Probably the only downside is that you are staying quite remote, however this wasn't a problem as we were happy to be away from the hustle and bustle, and just relax and enjoy the scenery. Just something to be aware of

Although the location is far from Ubud, the location is amazing in calm area and straight in front of the ocean. The team was helpful and generous.

They did not offer shuttles as assumed when booking, as quite a remote location. More variety needed on menu, as only one restaurant. Mix up cuisines.

The services price are a lot dearer that other resorts in Bali and also shops in the city. for example, we stayed in another resort, massage prices were 3 time cheaper that this resort, we tried another luxury message and spa in city which was 5 times cheaper.

The price of living amongst nature - the birds were very chirpy all night long so bring ear plugs if a light sleeper

Amazing food and the kitchen was very open to accommodate a vegan friend in our group. All staff were exceptionally service minded and made our stay so comfortable.Faboulous Spa treatments on offer. Enjoyed sitting at the bar in the evenings overlooking the ocean. This is the ideal place to stay if you enjoy pure relaxing at the pool side overlooking the ocean with lots of good food.

It would have been a 100% perfect stay if the beach was more accessible. There isn't any beach lounges or any possibility for swimming due to the strong currents.
