Clean and comfortable, nice surroundings. Nice to have a coffee with the view over rice fields. Nice building
A bit hidden, and a bit far from city centre.

Compared to the places around Ubud, good value for the price and great view.
Geckos are literally everywhere, at least six seven🤷‍♀️. I understand that it’s in a forest, and it’s expected to have some. But that many is simply outrageous.

The Wadari Retreat Villa Ubud is nothing short of magical. From the moment you arrive, you’re wrapped in a sense of calm that feels uniquely Balinese—peaceful, lush, and deeply restorative. Nestled among rice fields and tropical greenery, the villa offers the perfect balance of seclusion and luxury.
The villas themselves are stunning: beautifully designed, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully curated with natural materials that blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. Waking up to the sounds of nature and the soft morning light filtering through the trees felt like a dream. The private pool is an absolute highlight—serene, refreshing, and perfect for unwinding at any time of day.
What truly sets Wadari Retreat apart, though, is the exceptional service. The staff are incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely kind, always going above and beyond to make you feel welcomed and cared for. Every detail is handled with grace, from delicious breakfasts to helpful recommendations and seamless arrangements.
Wadari Retreat Villa Ubud isn’t just a place to stay—it’s an experience you carry with you long after you leave. I cannot recommend it highly enough and would return in a heartbeat.

The hotel is super comfortable, with a stunning view and peaceful nature all around.
Perfect spot to relax and unwind. The staff is incredibly welcoming and helpful!
The internet was not reliable at least during my stay, which was not good as I had to work.
Food was okay.

The setting and the scenery are stunning. It is exceptionally clean and well kept, the rooms are amazing and decorated well!
The cabins are situated between a rice field and a forest/jungle. Whilst that makes them very picturesque it also means an exceptional amount of bugs and wildlife.
The bamboo villas mean this is a particular problem. None of the doors close “flush” and the bathroom has parts of the roof which are open. Meaning all wildlife can come and go as it pleases!

The resort was clean.
The staff were incredibly sweet, kind & always helpful.
Our massages were fantastic.
There's an amazing restaurant at the end of the driveway with a fabulous bakery & coffee for breakfast & fine dining for dinner - most enjoyable.
It's getting very tired & old.
The pool was small, narrow & shallow at one end.
There's not much space to sit & enjoy a drink outside your room between ground floor rooms & the pool.
The pool chairs in the pool sunk below water level so you got a wet bottom.
We moved to the stand alone villa's which were nice but the power kept going out in the night leaving us with no air conditioning. The path to the villa's was treacherous in the rain - definitely do not recommend older travellers stay here.

Great location, just outside the hecticness of Ubud, but close enough to town so you don’t feel too remote.

Amazing energy. Dita really emulates such love and care to all of the guests as she welcomes you in, provides such an excellent service through your stay, and sees you out. The massages are amazing, the Pool is a gorgeous area, the deluxe rooms were beautiful. Exactly what we needed. Perfect to have such ease of transport arranged via the hotel.
Slightly more varied food for dinner menus including some more vegetable based options and some more Indonesian /.Balinese dishes.

The property was hidden away and around so many other food places and near a great coffee shop
9.0 / 10.0
I absolutely loved the staff. I cut my hand on a glass that broke, and Dita was so attentive and put me at ease. I also liked that my room had high ceilings, and a kitchen to cook a few meals for the days I wanted to stay in. The view of the sunsets from my balcony were just amazing. I had a great dinner one night in the restaurant. Very good food and a great cocktail with great service. I liked that there was a coffee place nearby (Rusters) that also had a good restaurant with live entertainment on certain nights. The ac working really good. The black out curtains helped with sleeping in. I could walk to two nearby markets market as well. Even though it could take anywhere from 20-40 minutes to get into the center of Ubud, I feel like the peace of the area the hotel is in made it worth it. And can’t beat the rate I got.
The bed was not comfortable unfortunately, woke up sore and had to get massages to help with the discomfort. Very poor sound proofing in this hotel. You can hear everything. I could hear the guest in the room next to me talking on the phone until late at night and taking a shower, etc. When he got up so did I basically. When he opened his door or closed it sounded as if it was in my room. Just loud all around. The guests above me had kids who ran and jumped for hours on end everyday for what felt like over a week. It was awful. The hotel staff offered to move me but I didn’t like the twin room option, and the view from this room was of piled up, ugly rubble/trash and an unkept field. The landscaping was nice around one area of the property but a quarter way threw it’s like they gave up, as the majority of the property overlook a sad, wanna-be rice paddy field that is completely overgrown. This hotel could be such a shining star landscape wise. Wish the owner would show it some love. Lastly, the pool has almost zero sun exposure due to the rooms above covering it. So if you’re wanting to languish in the sun poolside this is not that hotel.

Staff were friendly and hospitable, they catered to my dietary requirements and was a wonderful and relaxing stay. I stayed in a suite on the ground floor with pool and garden views and the room was spacious and had its own kitchenette attached. There is a local shop up the road to buy items to make your own dinner (however I didn't use it as ate out most of the time). There is also a cute tea house and Rusters restaurant to eat at just a minute walk away as well.

Liked the rice fields, staff was courteous and guided us to the important places. We hired scooters to move around. Didn't order much, although food was good. Pool is nice, warm water to swim.
Feels cramped, entrance is small, easy to miss

It’s clean, bright, modern and the staff is wonderful - kind, helpful and available at all times. The menu and food are great.
Connecting room can be issue because of noise, beware. Location - narrow roads, not very appropriate if you will go to the Ubud center every day by car.

Brilliant friendly staff, great breakfast and ideal location! Couldn’t recommend this more.

Spacious & well-lit room that was similar to the photos, which i appreciated. The bed was super comfy! We also called the front desk a few times to request for extra items and they were very efficient and polite about it. Although its a little towards a quieter area, Grabcar/food was still v accessible and response was always quick.
Towels had stains for 2 days so consider bringing an extra. Bugs and lizards were expected since its close to nature, however the staff were very quick and nice to catch the huge flying insect that were in our room.

Nice view from room.
Nice small area for relax near pool.
Small portion in breakfasts
No fresh juice but stuff says it is fresh squeezed (for breakfast).
Slow service for check out.
Need more directions notes on the way. A bit frustrated to find the place at the end of small roads.
Too much bright light at night on the ceiling.

Great and quite place to stay, not crowded hotel and a little bit away from the main street what we liked. Entering a peacefull and calm place to recharge and to spend a relaxing day at the pool. Kind and supporting staff, very helpfull.
Unfortunally we missed the Rice fields due to harvesting , but even without the ricefields still a lovely view to watch

The hotel is nice, breakfast was delicious, especially pancakes.
Staff is friendly and helpful
Spa and massage was below my expectations.
Location is far from the center, had to take a taxi.
Hotel provided taxi was twice more expensive as the grab rate.

The staff was really welcoming, professional, happy to help! View was nice ( however I’m not sure if the field in front of the hotel is still a rice field, doesn’t look like it now), breakfast was good, nothing special.
The place might need a bit maintanence but overall it was a good price-value ratio

âś… Friendly and helpful staff, always there to greet us, towel swans and welcome sheet for our honeymoon, fresh towels everyday, fresh water in the bathroom (in re-usable bottles but presumably still mineral water), clean and well-kept shared pool, beautiful views of rice fields, large fridge in room, quiet location
❎ Room needs a thorough clean, room smelt of damp, very thin walls between rooms with a joining door to the next room (this was locked but it sounded like we shared the room), would prefer to stay more central to Ubud next time

Great hotel, great staff, great location.
