Sayong Wooden House

Really nice place with three villas only. Good for long term and away from ubud crowd.

U can hear everything from the rooms so u can easily annoy or get annoyed by the sounds of the neighbours

The bungalows are quite spacious and overall nice. The small integrated kitchenette is perfect, so you don't have to cope with a messy kitchen (unless you yourself leave it messy 😉). The bathroom is clean and quite ok. The pool is small but deep and nice for a dip. The location is fine, very close to 4 big supermarkets (Pepito, Frestive, Clandys and Coco), close to the main road towards Ubud centre, but far enough away to not be caught in the bad traffic all the time.

There are a few things, why I only gave 8 stars: - main issue: the wooden walls are very thin, there is no insulation (sound or heat) whatsoever. This leads to two main issues: noise from other occupants or neighbours is heard quite loud, and the bungalow heats up a lot in the sun, causing the AC to go to the limit. Since it is a quiet neighborhood and I was lucky concerning other occupants, the noise issue was ok though. - smaller issues: the water pressure is low. It's still ok, but a bit less and showering would be difficult. The design of the bathroom is flawed. The tilt of the floor is not enough for the water to flow off completely, keeping the lower part of the door being soaked.

Cute and clean little house, in a quiet location, away from the noise of the road. Lovely and helpful staff. Will always stay there from now on when I go to Ubud.
