We loved that it showed its age and wondering who had been there before us. Also the staff were excellent.
Just one thing - the shower didn’t work.

The breakfast was good and the hotel is close to everything. Which is handy when you don't have a car.
Can't really think of anything as it was such a pleasant stay.

The property is wonderful. The room was amazing and so clean. Such old world charm. The history of the place is fab. Every member of staff was so friendly.
Nothing apart from I didn’t spend another night.

Central location, lovely staff, lots of history! Bedroom was clean and bed comfortable.
The breakfast room and staircase were in feed of a good refurbishment and clean up. Yes it’s a very old hotel and needs to retain that atmosphere but peeling plasterwork on the stairway and marks on the breakfast room walls could easily be resolved without loosing character.
Spiral staircase may prove difficult for some .. suggest check location of room if you have mobility issues.

Didn’t have breakfast
Our room was badly furnished with old tatty furniture, the carpet was dirty there were cobwebs over the bed there was a broken floor tile in the bathroom, there was no toilet brush the bathroom extractor fan was very noisy bathroom door did not shut the room needed a redecoration black mould on the bathroom ceiling
Outside our door in the corridor there was plaster from the ceiling cracked and wet from a previous leak bucket to catch dripping
Pillows too hard
The whole place was dreary it needs a complete upgrade

Bed was comfy, good facilities, attractive rooms and building, friendly staff, nice bar and restaurant. And generous amount of towels in the room.
With the bathroom taps, the cold tap water was actually warm. Also the shower was at an odd angle and it wasn't possible to adjust it. But they're only minor things.

The hotel and bar were absolutely gorgeous, so much history! It felt very warm and cosy with a lovely atmosphere. We stayed in the confessions room which was really nice.
The toilet's were not the best in the down stairs but I appreciate its a very old building

I stayed in the Henry 8th room. I got to stand exactly where he stood 600 years ago when he watched the destruction of Glastonbury Abbey. Like him, I was naked. What an opportunity!

Great location and fascinating building. Staff were friendly.
Rooms are not soundproofed so could hear other guests.
Food service was slow. Sausages at breakfast wasn’t cooked and items missing.

It was central to everything staff friendly
Didn’t like the heaviness of spiritual presence that was felt at the hotel which definitely was a concern. It left me when left hotel thankfully.

This is an ancient building with history
It was a delightful place to stay for a short visit in Glastonbury
Location, price, ambience all good
I chose to eat there on my night of arrival due convenience
There food I had was a very meagre portion and when I saw it I ordered a side of 'skin on fries ' to go with my Thai red curry and 3 table spoons of rice ,but they where just a small portion of bog standard but expensive french fries.
At twenty pounds for those 2 items and not feeling well fed I was less than happy.
The quality was fine just small portions.
I am expect that the meat options where more substantial

Without a doubt, the most incredible hotel I have been lucky enough to stay in. The history of The George and Pilgrim is, quite simply ,fascinating. There are no words to describe the feeling you have once you open the front door and literally step back in time. Book a room... Trust me you will never want to leave!
Departure day... I didn't want to leave!

The Hotel has a great central location for visiting Glastonbury. The double bed was clean and extremely comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. We both had the Eggs Royale for breakfast which were excellent; the Hollandaise sauce was delicious.
The Hotel is looking quite tired and in need of redecoration. The heating in our room wasn't functioning particularly well; the system probably needed bleeding as it was quite noisy when on. The room facilities are a little on the basic side, it would have been helpful to have charging points for digital items. There is no free parking connected to the Hotel, however we were able to use the adjacent pay and display carpark.

Room spacious and clean. Central location
The property is beautiful and full of character.
We had bad experience at the breakfast. Long waiting to be served, also did not know we could not help ourselves to the coffee machine which was in the breakfast area. I was helping myself to a late when the host informed me the hot drinks from that machine was not included in the breakfast, however he did not charge us extra, us we did not know it was not included. Perhaps it is a good idea to put a sign on the machine to indicate extra charge…?

Love the history and location
Breakfast was limited and on this day they had a broken coffee machine and they lacked some items.
The walls are very thin - I had no concerns but the pub closed at 9:30 and had to leave so we went to our rooms then guests complained because of the noise

Great location in the centre of town. Parking very near to hotel entrance
Bathroom layout was poor. Toilet up against the wall very uncomfortable

Clean room, friendly staff
Christmas meal was poor value for money and not hot. We had been moved to a sitting at 3pm which we were not told about and eventually had our starter at 3.30. We were given complimentary drinks as an apology.
None of the breakfasts were hot either.

I love the building, it has so much history and ambience. Lovely to see it dressed for Christmas. Cosy warm fire in the bar. Lots of charm and character.
The stairs which is spiral can be difficult to navigate with luggage.

.Lovely bar area beautifully decorated for Christmas
Dog friendly, btea and coffee making facilities
Quaint old building - very charming
The restaurant area was basic and we were told we had to have dinner at 6 or not at all Limited options for vegetarians. It was a Sunday though so maybe that's why..The bar closed early too..

Location, atmosphere, friendly staff.
Although the staff was short in numbers, those that were there worked very hard to ensure we had everything we needed. Knowledgeable, friendly and accomodating.
Room was great with period furniture, and bed was comfy too.
Location for us was just where we needed to be, although we did find ourselves listening to the music that played out several buildings down
Hotel in general was 'tired'. Understand it is a very old inn/hotel, but wallpaper ripped in places, carpet looked worn, and plenty of scuffed walls, paintwork, and holes in walls where pictures/fixing once was.

Staff location
Bit run down wrong food at dinner
6.0 / 10.0
Maybe it was just a bad day but they has run out of eggs, which made up a significant part of the menu. The staff were very apologetic and explained they were not allowed to buy from elsewhere but offered extra of another breakfast item to compensate. The coffee machine was not working so just filter coffee available.
Not major issues but disappointing.
Very basic for the price.
I think they rely on the age of the place its history to impress.
That said, the building is very old so I would imagine upkeep is costly.

Felt the extension could have done with a bit of a an upgrade, I appreciate the hotel is a grade 1a listed building, but the extension could do with better windows and a general makeover.

Beautiful historic Inn. Staff were amazing and it was right in the center of everything!
My room was in one of the older sections along the street and above the Pub. Naturally sound was an issue until about midnight, but didn’t bother me. For some however a room in the back might be a better option.

This is pub accommodation with some serious (15th century) history behind it - and even more around it. The pub sits right in the heart of iconic Glastonbury and is within walking distance to everything of interest, including the Tor. My single room was cosy, comfortable and fully equipped with the usual essentials - and a few steps to a bar and restaurant with unique heritage. I recommend staying here - you can't help but feel part of what makes 'Glasto' special.

Location was great. The pub ambiance is lovely. The bar servers, Sunday roast dinner and morning breakfast and staff really great. Check in was ok.
Room doesn’t actually have a number but a name which was a bit confusing. The room we booked and requested was to have a king size bed which we didn’t get. The bed we did get was only a full size and was so very hard and uncomfortable, neither of us slept well. Unfortunately the pillows too were old and hard. The room looks so cute but that means nothing if you can’t actually sleep. The showered head also would not stay up.
