Staff friendly and efficient but the place itself is a bit tired and shabby.

Maybe it was just a bad day but they has run out of eggs, which made up a significant part of the menu. The staff were very apologetic and explained they were not allowed to buy from elsewhere but offered extra of another breakfast item to compensate. The coffee machine was not working so just filter coffee available. Not major issues but disappointing.

Very basic for the price. I think they rely on the age of the place its history to impress. That said, the building is very old so I would imagine upkeep is costly.

Beautiful historic Inn. Staff were amazing and it was right in the center of everything!

My room was in one of the older sections along the street and above the Pub. Naturally sound was an issue until about midnight, but didn’t bother me. For some however a room in the back might be a better option.

Stay here to soak up the history of Glastonbury around every corner

This is pub accommodation with some serious (15th century) history behind it - and even more around it. The pub sits right in the heart of iconic Glastonbury and is within walking distance to everything of interest, including the Tor. My single room was cosy, comfortable and fully equipped with the usual essentials - and a few steps to a bar and restaurant with unique heritage. I recommend staying here - you can't help but feel part of what makes 'Glasto' special.

Not a great place to sleep but a good place for a drink and a meal

Location was great. The pub ambiance is lovely. The bar servers, Sunday roast dinner and morning breakfast and staff really great. Check in was ok.

Room doesn’t actually have a number but a name which was a bit confusing. The room we booked and requested was to have a king size bed which we didn’t get. The bed we did get was only a full size and was so very hard and uncomfortable, neither of us slept well. Unfortunately the pillows too were old and hard. The room looks so cute but that means nothing if you can’t actually sleep. The showered head also would not stay up.

Disappointing

Amazing historical building, great to experience the history. Perfect for centre of Glastonbury with easy access to pay and display car park at rear, only £6.00 for 24 hours. Staff were really helpful

The twin room was really disappointing in size and standard. Pillows hard. The noise was terrible from below, we must have been above the bar. Beer kegs moving woke us up at 7am in morning. A lot of noise from the corridor and passing foot fall. They did provide ear plugs so they must know about the noise. If we had known we wouldn’t have booked. Food very disappointing, evening meal was terrible as only 30 per cent of menu was available. We were just told the majority of menu was off??? Not up to standard and expectations from website.

Excellent old pub!

Fabulous old pub! This is one of the most stunning old pubs I have stayed in! We were in the Henry VIII room which had an amazing four poster bed. The staff were friendly and the facility were good - highly recommend!

Great staff, poor food choices

The hotel is a 15th Century building. it has crooked walls, creaky floors and flagstone flooring downstairs. It is quirky and atmospheric. I'm not sure its very accessibility friendly. The bedroom we had was huge with a very large four poster bed. The furniture was dark heavy wood and period. The bathroom is modern and the whole room was clean and well presented. The staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful. The bar area is cosy and there's a wide range of drinks

The central core of the building appears to be a corridor/alley linking the High Street to a car park so whilst having dinner there was a constant stream of non guests passing through. We decided to eat and having checked the menu we chose only to find our first four choices were out of stock. This is unacceptable on a menu of about a dozen items. When I asked what is available there were three other items out of stock but we weren't likely to order those. Effectively we had to choose steak pie, fish and chips, trout or three vegetarian/vegan meals. The Fish and chips was fine. The staff were lovely. After a night in the beautiful room but made less good by street noise because the double glaze panels were only attached to two of four windows and the very hard pillows, we went for breakfast. There's a good range of foods at varied prices. The full English was good but about a pound more expensive than on the Booking.com site. They only had white bread to toast. The coffee machine only had decaf coffee. Whoever orders food items needs a rethink as stock is poor and this detracts from a lovely stay.

Staff great room dismal and overpriced

The staff were welcoming, the service was good and the food although slightly pricey was tasty.

We felt the accommodation itself was poor value for money. I appreciate it's a very old building but it was also very shabby. There was a window broken in our room taped up. A pane of double glazing was missing, the mattress was uncomfortable, the pillows hard. The carpet next to the bed was filthy. The walls were scratched. The shower was disgusting, the bathroom ceiling marked and the hairdryer attached to the wall from 1984. We had noisy neighbours until the early hours on both sides. One side a woman laughing for hours like a chicken laying an egg and the other having a full scale row which continued in the morning at 7.30am. The language was disgusting. We paid £175 fir the night, I think they must have booked through booking.com. I know the hotel cant vet the clientele but we certainly won't be going back. The room could do with a thorough refurbishment for the cost.

A quaint, but dated hotel

Someone carried my case to my room. We loved the history and the age of the building. Our bed was comfy and the room was clean.

The hotel wasn't as dog friendly as it could be ie no dogs in the dining room. Bar shut at 10pm on Sunday evening. Our room was very dark. Hotel needs alot of money spent on it.
