We had an absolutely fantastic family stay here – honestly one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had. From the moment we arrived, everything felt welcoming, which makes such a difference when travelling with a child. The room was excellent: spacious, comfortable, and set up really well for a family base between sightseeing and downtime. The little touches were great too (our 10-year-old was thrilled with the hot chocolate in the room!).
The facilities were a real highlight for us as a family. We spent a lot of time in the pool area and the jacuzzi – it was the perfect way to unwind after a busy day walking around Oxford, and it kept our 10-year-old happily entertained. The sauna and steam room were also really good (though a bit small given the size of the hotel), and it was great having all of this on-site so we could mix sightseeing with some proper relaxation.
Location-wise, it couldn’t have been better for a family trip. It’s ideal for exploring central Oxford and all the main tourist hotspots, and being right by the River Thames was a huge bonus. We loved being able to walk behind the hotel and follow the riverside path – such a calm break from the crowds and a lovely way to round off the day together. Breakfast was also very good, with plenty of choice, and it made mornings simple before heading out for sightseeing.
What really sets this hotel apart is the team. Everyone was genuinely friendly and incredibly helpful – especially appreciated when travelling as a family and want things to run smoothly. We did have an issue with the AC unit, but it was handled by Vik and we were moved to a new room. A special mention also to Claire on reception, who was so helpful and welcoming. We also loved the WhatsApp messaging service for for anything we needed during the stay – such a personal touch, and it really felt like the hotel cared about making our visit the best it could be. We’d happily stay again, and our 10-year- is already asking when when we can come back!
Maybe a few more pastry options at breakfast and definitely pancakes should be included for the kids in the regular breakfast and not separate as a paid add on. My 10 year old loves his pancakes with chocolate drizzle but we had to purchase them.

The £25.00 over night per night parking fee - really? We were staying there - why - never before have I been charged for on-site parking in a car park where we were staying.

Good location for our plans.
Having to pay additionally for parking. Staff welcome etc. not great - they were consistently straight into asking if we’d paid the parking, registered the car, checked in online, or if we wanted to check out - not smile, good afternoon, welcome, good morning, how was your stay niceties. Disappointing given the fee. Whoever dusts the room needs to do better:
