Accomodation is very clean and staff great.

We had an issue getting in as Booking.com did not send us a keypad number to get in. It took us over an hour to contact the staff to let us in. This was not the property but booking.com not supplying us with the code.

Warm and comfortable within easy reach of Oxford town centre.

The rooms are sufficiently spacious, even the smaller ones. Additional coffee etc can be collected from a table in the entrance area without having to contact staff. The rooms are warm.

There was some confusion about room keys. It was difficult to contact anyone using the mobile phone number on the documents. The landline number on the sign outside was answered.

It was a comfortable and good value room.

I was allowed to check in at 11.30am when I had thought I could just leave my case and collect the key. There was good lighting by the bed for reading. The decor was smart and the TV large. The mattress and pillows were comfortable.

There was no hot water in the bathroom washbasin hot tap. I wished to have a wash instead of having a shower and had to have one in cold water.

Ideal for Christmas shopping trip

Excellent location which means you can walk into the centre. Nice pubs locally with friendly staff. This is the second time I’ve stayed it because of the location. It’s extremely good value for money but not luxurious which you should expect. Water hot, room nice and warm. Really comfortable beds (on the top floor). Parking spaces make life easier. Sophie was lovely and friendly and we enjoyed our chats with her.

Nothing about the property it does what it says on the tin so to speak. We had to leave night early due to family emergency. We left an expensive phone charger. Rang Martin and he was less than helpful. However, we had to drive back to Oxford from Cardiff to collect something from a store. The staff again were brilliant and we retrieved the charger. I hope the staff are appreciated 🙂

Really comfortable stay with everything you need

I stayed at the Premier Inn the night before and Newton House exceeded the venue. I arrived very late and spoke to the manager by phone to advise who was really friendly and helpful with instructions on how to gain access. The room had everything I needed, really comfortable and clean. Altogether a really easy stay.

Cosy and comfortable great location only 10-15 minutes walk from City Centre. Perfect!!

It was very clean, very cosy and had facilities for making hot drinks with teas & coffees & hot chocolate provided … I was able to leave my overnight bag during the day after I checked out which was marvellous whilst I explored the City! It was in a good location too, only 10-15 mins from City Centre.

Excellent.

Clean and comfortable room. Had a front bedroom but heard no traffic noise even though it was a busy road. Parking was a bonus and only a 10 minute stroll and you were in the centre of Oxford.

Convenient pleasant

Pleasant room and comfortable bed convenient location great temperature abd lovely to have opening windows.

I hadnt picked up the email and therefore couldn’t get in when I arrived later than intended. So I rang and the “I sent you an email response was not helpful” he did eventually gave me the instructions to enter over the phone but when I asked for next steps I was just talking to the phone with no response. At that stage in the light and inside I was able to open my email to know where my room and key were. I ran out of milk pottles but no one to ask .

Compared to other places I have stayed on my 30 day trip, I thought the room was not quite up to the standard of refurbishment I expected. My London hotel was a similar price but much better standard.

Pleasant but unfortunately we won’t be returning as checks had not been thorough.

Great location, 10-15 min walk to the town. Quite clean and a decent enough bed.

Unfortunately, our smoke alarm started going off in the late afternoon. We spoke to the owner who removed it and didn’t return it till the next day. We thought this was a major health and safety issue as it seems they had not been checked in a while and we were in a room with no alarm if there was an emergency. We were then awake up all night when everyone else was going off till 3am. We later found out the alarms were faulty. We didn’t have a good nights sleep at all. My other half needed to be up for 5:30am. With barely any sleep it was a big inconvenience.

The accommodation had free parking, if you manage to get a space, which was a plus as parking in Oxford is so expensive. Bed was comfortable.

Newton house is a basic room at very reasonable price with onsite parking

Location is excellent for visiting Oxford 800 metres to the centre .A 20 minute walk to the New threatre .The room was clean and ideal for a 1 night stay .There is also a car park on site which was very good .

Only about a 15 minute walk to central Oxford. Comfortable rooms.

Quite noisy from people walking around the hallway of the hotel and as our room was on the street front it was very bright as there was only sheer curtains in the room.

My family and I stayed for one night and then checked out into alternative accommodation.

The guest house was reasonably clean, and I guess the facilities were ok for the price and location

This is partially my fault for not looking up the details. that said Newton house is a guest house, not a hotel. There are stairs which are difficult if you have suitcases. The room itself was horribly hot, with an extremely small bed. The bathroom is like a swamp after one shower.
