Location, walkable distance to st marks square! Beautifully decorated rooms w thoughtful goodies like toothbrushes, sandals, and robes. Had a cute window too. White sheets! Felt very safe too! Would stay again.
A little on the small side but worth it to me for the location.

Great location, close to center and walking distance to attractions. My room window opens to the smallest church in Venice.
Good exercise up the stairs with luggage.

Right from the off the staff in San Gallo could not have been more helpful. We changed our booking a couple of times and it was never a problem, and they kept us up to date on everything right up until our arrival, including great info around the visitor tax, and the best way to get our bags to the hotel from the Alilaguna airport water shuttle.
Always friendly and welcoming and super-keen to be of help, the staff in San Gallo go way above and beyond what's necessary to run a great wee hotel.
The location is fantastic, between St Mark's Square (San Marco) and Rialto Bridge, with only a short walk to either. The room is quaint and quirky but also very comfortable with excellent air conditioning and a great powerful shower. The bed was firm and comfortable - for us at least - as well.
If we make it back to Venice, which I hope we do, we would certainly book again at San Gallo!
The nearby bars close too soon - but that is not the fault of San Gallo!
