Good vacation at a welcome place!

The hotel was cozy & quiet. Closed to many restaurants with 1 or 2,minutes walking distance. The staffs were excellent. Very helpful & courtesy. Definitely will come back here again 🥰👍!

A beautiful hotel in a great location, but also at a great price

The location of this hotel is perfect, with many restaurants and the cog railroad station a short walk away. A bus stop (service to Eibsee and Garmisch-Partenkirchen) is directly outside the hotel. Both bus and train to Eibsee and Garmisch-Partenkirchen are included with the spa tax. Breakfast was great, with a nice selection of meats, cheeses, pastries, fruits, and other items. Room was small, but very clean and comfortable, with an outlet right next to the bed. Perfectly sized for one person. Despite it being nearly 30C on one of my days there, the room stayed comfortable and cooled off quickly at night. The view from the room is spectacular, and the balconies are perfect for enjoying fresh Alpine air and evening alpenglow. The hotel is a beautiful building with classic Bavarian Alps architecture and bits of history scattered around, such as old advertisements for the hotel. Staff is quite friendly.

Great location, a short drive away from both Eibsee and Garmisch-Pattenkirchen. The room was clean and cosy. The owners were friendly and helpful. There was a table and a balcony in the room. Toilet was clean as well. Very satisfied.

The room was on the small side, and no hair dryer or shampoo was in the room. (However, hairdryers are provided at the reception if asked.) It was otherwise very good, and good value for money. I have indeed booked the smallest room which is also the cheapest one, which makes it perfectly reasonable. There are options with bigger rooms, which I am aware of and also kindly reminded by the owners. Still, it is my personal opinion that the room was on the small side. But the room was still absolutely lovely and clean, and I strongly recommend the place for anyone to stay, as can be seen by my 9.0 rating.

Cozy apartment in a wonderful location

Very helpful staff and a beautiful apartment in a wonderful location with good parking facility. The apartment is right at the foot of the mountain which literally starts from the backyard. Quiet and cute apartment with one living room, one bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. The room is equipped with ample storage space. Kitchen is very cute and lit up with lot of storage space, accessible shelves and good set of basic utensils. A cutting board in the kitchen would be great addition. Would be desirable to have a washing machine and drying rack for longer stays (dish washer and cloth dryer machines are not a big necessity) and a broom for dusting. A small soap holder or hooks for brushes is a good-to-have small addition inside the shower. Overall a wonderful stay which is close by to many awesome restaurants and bus stops.

An wonderful journey near massif Zugspitze

Everything was perfect as we expected - Bavarian hospitality, surroundings, staff, little Lű. The hotel is closer to the turistic bus stop, turistic train station, swimming pool, mountains (especially Zug pick), center of the village, restaurants, St. John church. Aldi and Edeka shops are 2 km away and Lidl (we especially love) is about 5 km in Garmisch Pt. The staff gave us a local turistic card and we could take the train and the bus without cost all over the region. We chose to go to the cable car for Zugspitze and Alpspitze and we took the cogwheel (the little turistic blue train) betweek them, for free. Also, we took it to Garmisch Pt. to visit, make photos and have shopping. Special regards to the young man from the hotel's reception and kisses for Lű.

Would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Grainau!

Loved the location and the breakfast included. We easily walked to many spots, including hiking trails, the swimming pool, and restaurants. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The views were amazing and we enjoyed hearing the cows on the hills

Good value for money, nice location

The hotel has a great location to explore the area, the rooms are big, some with balcony, beautiful view from the rooms, breakfast was good, however, no pastries.

We were happy with everything, however, here are some things that could improve...The television in the room is very small, there is only 1 socket on the bedside, you need to choose whether to charge your phone or plug in the nightlamp, curtains should be darker, no amenities in the shower, only handsoap.

The breakfast was excellent with different variations to the buffet each day. I enjoy eggs so the farm fresh still warm boiled eggs were delightful.

My pillow wasn't great, but I'm someone who enjoys hard or foam pillows over soft pillows to fold as desired, so this may just be my preference.

The breakfast was nice, everyday was something different, loved the homemade marscapone, it was delicious! Only one day they served scramble eggs and bacon which made my husband very happy, other than that day he only ate bread, butter and jelly. The bed was comfortable. Rooms are very small. Only hand soap provided, so ensure you have toiletries.

The room description said there were outlets on the side of the bed, maybe in the other rooms but not ours. We used the extra blankets from the cabinet, and one of them clearly hadn't been washed. All in all it was nice.

there is no Shampo, No hair Dryer, old towels and they don't change it for 3 days, verry poor furniture. the hotel was too old, and the floor make noise with evry step we did.

Real old school values in this hotel. Excellent breakfast -nice and fresh. Bus stop right outside hotel -so convenient. At the foot of the mountains the Alpine glocke and cows provided soothing peaceful background music. Very thoughtfulto provide a plate, knife and botle opener in the room.

A better quality towel would have been appreciated. Please seperate rooms whereone can smoke from non smoking. The room next to me was a smoking room : very unpleasant.

Excellent service and gorgeous views!

I was fully enjoyed 2 nights at this lovely hotel! Its locations is very close to the railway station (approx. 5 min on foot) and to the bus stop (just 100 meters). But the most important are mountains right next to the hotel. The hotel was founded in 1903 and inside the main hall, corridors and dining room you can see the really old (but in very good state) interior and furniture. My single room was quite comfortable. There were a bad, a wardrobe, a table and an armchair, a bath, towels, all necessary toilet things. And incredible mountains view opens from the balcony. There are no fridge and kettle but the breakfast is served (different kind of cheese, ham, sausages, omelet, yoghurts, fruits and so on). Very tasty coffee! Reception is opened from 6am till 6pm. The family Seufferth who run this hotel are very helpful and friendly, you will like them for sure. I would like to stay there again. Highly recommended!

I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again whenever I am in the area.

The hotel is accessible by public transport, it is located 3 minutes from the Bus Stop. It is also walking distance to the Cogwheel train station that goes up to the cable car station. A hike to the Eibsee and the Hollentalklamm is also possible. I enjoyed the breakfast and the hosts mixed it up everyday to keep it interesting.

A nice base from which one can explore the region.

Spacious apartments, nice view, close enough to the different ski-places. A nice family hotel, not too busy.

Pillows were too flat, insufficient filling, for us. Others might prefer.
