Great place if you're looking for a bit more comfort when you visit Trier

Beautiful spa hotel, with spacious rooms, superfriendly staff, and parking. The restaurant was fabulous; the included breakfast was amazing, and the one time we stayed there for dinner was excellent as well.

The interior feels a bit dated, same as the bathroom, but it's in great condition and clean. It's a bit of a walk if you want to go to the centre of Trier, but we enjoyed it.

Great place to stay and really comfortable.

The welcome was really great: the guy took the time to show us properly around the hotel and made sure we could access the parking. The rooms were modern and comfortable with really excellent showers. The breakfast was a real highlight, with an excellent choice and really good service. I was very happy to be able to charge my car in the underground parking.

Beautiful, quirky hotel 20 mins walk from Trier centre

The room was beautiful with a lovely balcony. Breakfast service in the restaurant was good.

There was limited parking at the hotel. However we could park outside an annexe 3 minutes walk away for free. There is also payed, underground parking inside the building. The restaurant dinner menu seemed a bit limited, so we didn't eat there.

Can’t fault the whole experience

Spotlessly clean, exceptionally comfortable. Luxurious facilities. The indoor swimming pool was pure relaxation and on the evening we had it to ourselves. Highly recommend reserving a table to eat in the hotel restaurant, the food was delicious. Great service. Breakfast was also delicious with a huge variety to choose from. Can’t fault the whole experience and would love to return.

Very limited underground parking available so make sure you book!

Beautiful hotel, would love to stay again

Really enjoyed our stay! Beautiful location with amazing views into Trier. Amazing breakfast with everything you could want. The gluten free bread was so good (available on request). The staff were so friendly and kind. The rooftop pool and sauna are in particular amazing and a highlight!

I didn't love the radio speaker in the bathroom which turned on automatically needed to be switched every time I went into the bathroom - but it was a novelty!

It is easy to spend a perfect day off at Villa Hügel. We will be back for sure.

Villa Hügel is all about service. People really care. Our room was exceptional: Spacious, nice furniture, huge bath room with rain shower and extra bath tub. The sky pool has a comfortable temperature and you can watch the top of Trier from there. Breakfast has an exceptional number of choices. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We will definitely come back.

Amazing and serene

After an absolutely disasterous experince in another hotel for one night in Trier we found this hotel and had hopes that it would be stink free and clean. I should explain that my husband and I are extremely sensitive to scents and the previous hotel's "allergy free room" had used the world's most scented laundry detergent. My husband slept in a K95 mask. The Villa Hugel was our lifesaver. We even completely changed our itinerary so we could stay here two nights. The bed was a dream come true with a memory foam topper. The rainfall shower was a "terrifying and divine" experience, so much so that we may get one at our house. The staff were fantastic and showed us around the property and to our room.

This is not at all specific to this hotel, but the smoking allowed on terraces/outdoor dining areas is absolutely heartbreaking. We just wanted to watch the sunset, but we couldn't because of the extreme amount of smoke. I know this is prevalent throughout Germany, but for 2 people with asthma and who are sensitive to smell, it did cause a considerable amount of grief.

We loved the hotel. The location was convenient, the service outstanding, and the room clean and comfortable. We only stayed one night, but wish it could have been longer so we could have used more of the facilities. We also loved the breakfast.

Best Hotel!

Everything was so superlux!! I really-really love Hotel Villa Hügel - it is so pretty, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was sooo good and there was lots of food options, staff is so friendly and helpful all the time! And the view - there is no enough words to describe how beautiful it is!!! Great location, every person on staff extremely friendly and helpful. super clean, great breakfast and the two pools and saunas were fantastic.

The only criticism would be the Wi-Fi. it was very iffy, not a strong connection and didn’t work some of the time.

Breakfast, Pools, sauna/hammam and staff were all great! Nice view from te room. Room was very spacious and clean. Bed was great!

The bathroom flooded a bit after showering. Not a problem for us but it is a bit steep to get back to the hotel from the city centre on foot. People who are less able should know.

Absolutely wonderful hotel; you will not be disappointed!

Everything was above and beyond our expectations. We felt so pampered and spoiled by the staff during our stay. The hotel was quaint and paid exceptional care to details. Our rooms had robes, slippers, extra towels, relaxing spray for our pillows, and little extras that may not have made our bags for the trip. The property is very clean. Breakfast was amazing and had much to offer a variety of tastes. Dinner was fabulous (a reservation is required for dinner, but easily done). The staff that greeted and cared for us every morning was so personable, friendly, and attentive. The view of Trier at breakfast was peaceful and relaxing. We highly recommend this hotel! If we ever return, we will definitely be staying there.

There is not a thing we did not like about this place. They did everything so well, to point that we felt like we downgraded at our next hotel. Our only disappointment was there were no exercise facility outside of the swimming pools. We did enjoy the pool ; )

That hill is a killer to walk up, but that's not the hotel's fault and in any case without the hill you wouldn't get those views. In any case there are buses !

it was beautifully designed and laid out. it felt luxurious and the staff was top notch. we stayed in the Athens room and it was lovely. it was within walking distance to the old Roman bridge and the town center.

the terrace was spacious but it did have the smell of wafting garbage to no fault of their own but it was enough for us to go back in and stay outside.

restaurant and pool

the reception staff: we called 40 minutes prior to arrival (14.55) to ask if our room would be ready and it was indicated that we should come 5 minutes later as check was scheduled at 15.00. Upon arrival we still had to wait 10 minutes for our room to be room to be ready. Si far for German hospitality and grundigheit
