Great, we'll visit this hotel again !
The rooms are comfortable, the staff is very friendly and prices are reasonable.
The last morning there was no hot water in our room.
The restaurant "La Principeauté" could do with a warmer form of decoration ; at least the "hospital white" lights should be changed immediately.

A great one night stay in fabulous surroundings.
Room and dinner were excellent as well as the surroundings. Despite a large group having dinner we were squeened in by the very accommodating staff.
Nothing!

Great location and impressive buildings. You are passing for the location and building facade
Building was impressive. Very clean.
Breakfast was disappointing. Mostly cold cuts and some cheese. Not a great variety of produce. Tables were slow to be cleared for other guests to use.

Nice idea to stay in an old fort but expensive for what was on offer.
Room was pleasant.
Breakfast - limited with empty baskets - had to ask for bread and croissants when there was still 1 hour left for breakfast!

'Upgraded' to a SMALLER room but still charged £217 for a non-existent SUITE!
The hotel looked nice from outside
I booked and paid for the best room in the place - a suite - described on the booking.com list as 'a suite with a lounge on the ground floor and a mezzanine with bedroom'. I paid £217.20 for this room BUT on arrival I was allocated a normal room with a bed and - oddly - an 'interview desk' with a chair either side. When I explained to reception that I'd been given the wrong room, I was told - bizarrely - that the suite was already booked (double-booked?) but this one-room was also a suite even though it didn't actually have the two rooms the hotel described.
Follow-up. I have now received an even more bizarre pair of excuses from the hotel. 1. The suite I'd booked was NOT available because it was too hot so I'd been moved. 2. The room I'd been given WAS the suite I'd booked. Even though the room with the desk I'd been given wasn't a suite, it still was 'in a way' (what way?) and in fact (they were getting excited now!) the room I'd been given was an UPGRADE to a SMALLER room and ...errr...it WAS ACTUALLY THE BRIDAL SUITE! Oh dear it's almost laughable were it not so irritating to pay £217 for a night in the wrong room. Presumably the bride will be interviewing the groom at the desk before looking for the lounge and mezzanine that don't exist. What an insult to my intelligence that I'd even swallow some nonsense like this.
If you plan staying here, pay for the cheapest possible room because whatever you upgrade to, don't believe it. They'll take your money and then the excuses start. Your room not available...or room too hot so you're 'upgraded' to a SMALLER room (how does that work?). And for goodness sake don't book anthing that they call the 'bridal suite' that's not a suite and will make any bride scream and walk out.

Between 3 and 4 stars.
The way the hotel looks is very pretty both inside and outside. Checking in and out went efficiently. Why a picture of passport is necessary I don't understand, it is not usual in Europe. We did get the copy back on request when leaving. The beds are comfortable. Hygiene is perfect. Room looks nice.
Room is small. Shower to be used by standing in the bath tub is not comfortable and not expected in a 4 star hotel. Foofd in the restaurant is mediocre and personel control of English not there, also not in line with what one expects from a 4 star hotel. Small things are not in line with that as well like not changing cutlery when used. The termerature in the room is in the winter no more than 19C and in the summer you have a fan to your disposal which does not lower the termparature.
Parking and parking instructions. Between 10 and 18h one parks outside the inner courtyard of the castle, where all the visitors for the castle itself park. Room enough and wide, so no problem there. Inside the court yard there is room enough as well. But this arrangement is not clear, so we drove around the castle because we could not find the entrance to the hotel. So go to the parking place for the castle and for checking in and dropping luggage you are allowed to enter the gate and move out again. At 18 h you see all the hotelguests move their car inside. This is not communicated properly.
All in all 4 stars is too much.

Unique setting for a Hotel.
Amazing setting for a hotel, stunning views and a unique experience to be in an old Fort ! Front desk staff helped me make a dinner reservation at a local walkable restaurant , as they couldn’t accolade my last minute request. Absolutely worth the money paid. Breakfast was fantastic too.
Nothing, absolutely would stay here again!

Great castle setting but breakfast needs improvement.
Fantastic setting in a medieval castle. Grand room. Helpful staff.
A very disappointing breakfast, especially given the price and the grandeur of the castle setting. The other chateau we stayed in (in Namur) offered eggs freshly cooked to order and an excellent choice of fresh fruit, as did a much cheaper business hotel in Libramont.

Don't bother with this hotel.
Location of hotel in the fort of Sedan was great. Unfortunately that's where it ended
Hot room, poor cleaning, terrible and expensive breakfast. A supposedly good hotel with paper cups for tea/coffee in the room.

The room and overall setting in the castle was great. Just don't eat there.
Small but well fitted room overlooking the castle square. Cheery staff
Worst part of the stay was the food. Dinner was just acceptable at best, given that it was a high class restaurant. Poor attention to detail. The breakfast buffet was very sparse and meagre, with an inattentive server.

Good place to stay whilst visiting Sedan
The restaurant was excellent, lots of parking for Motos.
Room window very small ,I guess castle had small windows.

Whilst it was an interesting property, it didn’t feel welcoming or friendly.
The chateau fort was interesting and the location was great
It felt a little sterile and unfriendly.

A formidable night in a Castle
We loved that everyone could bring their classic cars and Park them to give a round around the Castle without worrying at all. The location is definitely key.
The dinner was another score 10 star. The attention was excellent, and we rarely have had experienced such exquisite experience with food as with the menu choices that the chef suggested.

A very special experience.
It’s a castle!
It was hot inside. it would have been nice to have a thin sheet to sleep with rather than a thick duvet.

The room, breakfast and dinner met our expectations.
We had no complaints.

Pretty good hotel but let down by the wine.
Location close to town, very distinctive building - a castle. Food at dinner was excellent.
The wine - a limited list and only French to choose from - was unexceptional to say the least, and expensive; poor value for money. Breakfast was OK.

Amazing location - great quiet rooms too. A fabulous start to our trip...
Amazing location and super friendly staff. Loads of parking and it was a great start to the trip!
Check out could have been a bit faster but that is being ultra fussy!

Sipping wine on the ramparts of a castle right outside our room. Unique experience!
Was a unique experience to stay in the top of a castle. Our room had a door that opened onto the ramparts allowing us to walk around in the evening. It was off season so hardly any other guests there. Restaurant and bar were closed but a short drive put us at a recommended restaurant. The room was modern and comfy and quiet.
The remainder of the castle was not open in off season so we could not go to the museum.

Lovely stay as always. No complaints. Will be back in the summer.
Excellent hotel with a lot of character. Nice friendly staff and large rooms.
Bar was not always maned and the restaurant was expensive.

excellent stay in a fascinating medieval fort
The hotel is in a truly amazing fort in the centre of Sedan, the staff were very friendly and the rooms were good if with slightly small wondows (but it is a Fort....). The breakfast was very good with a wide choice of cheese, pastry, cake and fruit. I'd stay here again without a moments hesitation.

Fabulous
Amazing location, nice team and spotlessly clean, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The room size was quite small (but then they seem to be in most French hotels!)

Modern comfort in historic setting
Lovely room and very large choice for breakfast.
This place is a perfect example of modern comfort in a historic setting
Apparently we could not get more than 19 degrees in the room due to energy measures

I was very impressed with the building and the layout, very historical and much of that charm has been retained.
A fabulous restaurant with a great menu and clearly a very good chef. 👍
Can't think of anything I didn't like.
