The hotel was perfectly located for our first visit to Brecon. Warm and comfortable.

The room was warm and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really good - they catered for me as a vegan quickly and without any fuss.

Parking is not great but I know there's nothing you can do about that. What might be useful is if you could provide better information about parking options on your website or upon arrival.

Excellent value for money.

I was given a very warm welcome upon arrival, with a helpful explanation about the hotel and its arrangements for guests. My room was comfortable and quiet, I felt undisturbed and free to come and go as I wished. The breakfast buffet was varied and generous and the cooked breakfasts were generous, freshly prepared, and quickly served by helpful and attentive staff.

My most pressing problem was the absence of a lift to my 2nd floor room. The member of staff who welcomed me upon arrival did explain that this is due to the age of the building and she did offer to provide any assistance I'd need, but this still feels like a major problem for a hotel. My only other criticism is that the pre-prepared coffee at breakfast was disappointingly weak and tasteless. Coffee bags had also been provided, but they were also disappointing because the hot water provided wasn't hot enough for effective infusion.

The staff were great and downstairs was nice

The room was horrendous, lamps falling off the wall, bed was hard, mold all around the window. Shower was really bad and we paid £120 a night. They couldn’t accommodate us for dinner on the second night

Nice pub.

Room was hotter than hell and couldn’t turn it down. Radiators raging. And they mucked my bookings up, so one of the party had to sleep on the floor in duvets - no spare bed or camp bed. Pretty dire. As compensation they offered us discounted breakfasts, but said it was serving at 0700, but turns out on Sat AM this is 0800 and we needed to be away so didn’t benefit from this discount.

Would not stay again

The location was great and the pub was lovely. The food was very good.

The bathroom in our room was filthy ! Mould on seal around bath, bath taps did not work, hair all over the floor which was stained with yellow stains. Window in the room was rotten and covered in condensation which made the room feel damp. Mirror propped against a wall instead of hung. Mould on the ceiling in the bathroom .The staff clearing up at night were so so noisy, slamming doors, shouting to each other and constantly in and out for a cigarette or vape leaving the door to slam behind them.

No parking and you can’t pre pay for the offsite car park for the following day and the ticket expires at 8am. Room needed a clean in certain areas. Roast dinner wasn’t great.

The Wellington Hotel - needs updating & a revamp; a splash of paint!

It's central position, the food was also nice

Room 24, the side table was really rocky, a lampshade was missing off the bed light, the bathroom was extremely outdated, grouting black in places, the door looked like it had been well scratched by a dog? We had the misfortune to be in the Courtyard at the same time that there was either a staff meeting or a staff break time and the language around the table, within earshot of paying guests, was not acceptable. Likewise, pulling an absent member of staff to pieces behind their back was not pleasant to overhear. The bike shed was full of old bed bases which meant we had difficulty in getting our tandem in. I was advised that it was being cleared out by that weekend, but that was too late for us.
