Gorgeous venue, drinks expensive and breakfast underwhelming.

Only one thing, but small. Could do with coat hooks, in the room, so you don't have to hang in the wardrobe, when damp or wet plus, condensation on single glass windows, spoilt the amazing view.

Breakfast was lovely, not enough staff on duty as we had to wait a while for juices to be filled. Evening meal was quite expensive.

Very comfortable stay with a great breakfast choice and friendly staff.

Room was a warm small apartment with kitchen, lounge , spiral staircase and bedroom with an en-suite shower room (including a rubber duck.) Very pleasant bar area with several rooms attached to the main bar, one with a wood-burner another overlooking a garden and the distant hills. Dining room with booths , high ceilings and an "interesting" decor.

Having to log in to my home account to watch the BBC news. The TV in the courtyard room seems to be internet only and also having to use name, DOB and home email just to use the guest Wi-Fi was excessive, so I didn't. There seems to be a little too much harvesting of guest contact details.

Location was great, short walk to the theatre. Parking was really good. Venue was very nice and so was our room. The lady in the breakfast room was very friendly and attentive. We will return again.

Lack of communication from the bar staff as in where to go for evening meal when i said we had booked a table. No one came to offer dessert.

The television didn't show terrestrial TV. An information sheet in the room would be useful with the wi-fi details and how to operate the television and the coffee machine.

Good; pleasant ambiance, good reasonably priced evening meal and excellent breakfast.

Friendly...especially towards dog; which makes a difference...fine detail and cooked breakfast on order (not pre-cooked) making it one of the nicest full English I've had in ages.

Would have liked gym and pool, but guess too small for latter. Also lack of writing paper (or pad) in room was frustrating as had to make do with scraps that I could find.

Nigel and Heidi's Anniversary Stay.

Beautiful décor and ambient music welcomed us on our arrival at The Cathedral suite, situated within the courtyard of the main hotel. We had a lovely stay, coupled with cocktails and a romantic stroll around Brecon in the evening, whereby The Castle Hotel was lit up, just lovely ❤️. We also loved the cute yellow rubber duck in our bathroom, such a sweet touch, that I have to share a photo of how we left little duckie for his next adventure lol 😂. We will definitely return.

Parking at the hotel was a challenge on arrival in the afternoon. Therefore, we parked just down the hill from the hotel, in a public car park and brought our car upto hotel later, when spaces became available. This was no problem for us as we used the time to explore the area.

This 2 night stay at thus hotel exceeded my expectations. Staff were polite , helpful,hard working and a pleasure. The decor and interior dedigns throughout the hotel was magical and such a joy. The beautiful scenery from all the front windows was also conducive to well being and relaxation. Food was fantastic and very tasty. Location was fantastic. We will definitely return. Such a joy. Fantastic Stay

We had a fantastic stay. The staff were wonderful and we ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious, service great too. Room was very clean and lots of nice extras such as a coffee machine and toiletries. Views are exceptional and the updated decor is very nice. Our room was a family room (so not in the main property) and it was lovely and quiet.

There was one window in the roof we couldn't close which made the room a little cold for our baby. Also the room did not have a baby bath which would have been a nice extra (as there was only a shower). I think this could be included when you pay for the cot - there was however a little duck which was a nice touch.

Comfortable hotel with very friendly and helpful staff

Public rooms are very spacious and there is plenty of options for a place to have a drink or to have a meal so you can avoid the noisy spaces.

The room had an excellent view but it did overlook the outside bar so rather noisy at bedtime. Would have liked a room nearer to the main exit. When travelling with a dog, you do need to go out and in more frequently.
