The parking was a bit of a squeeze, and had to park elsewhere (still free and nearby) on the second night, but didn’t in any way spoil the stay

Great location and a very warm welcome

Great location for Brecon town centre. Original building is 16th century so some rooms are a bit small. However Gail the host is amazing, very friendly and helpful. Thank you for the Indian breakfast! There is on site parking but wow the entrance is narrow. Breathe in as you drive in.

Warmest welcome in Wales! Amazing host with lots of recommendations for activities in the area, and also amazing breakfasts to start you day off perfectly. The location is great for access to town but also the Brecon Beacons National Park.

A very enjoyable and relaxing stay.

It’s a really unique and historic building which is ideally situated in Brecon. Walking distance into the main town centre and closes to everything you need.

Nothing really, the car park is a little small but you are made aware of that early on and Gail is very helpful in getting you parked.

Great accommodation and exceptional staff

There are hundreds of reasonable quality B&Bs around, right? Well, what differentiates this place is the quality of the person who runs it. Her name is Gail and she’s very friendly, welcoming and chatty. Nothing is too much trouble. She cooks a very good breakfast as well. Do yourself a favour and stay here.

I had a great stay, with a friendly helpful host, a good bed and in a very convenient location.

The host, Gail was very friendly and helpful, I didn't want breakfast for my three day stay so she kindly made me a very tasty packed lunch each morning which I really appreciated. The bed was perfect and the shower good. There was a full sized, fast boiling kettle in the room (essential for my well being) and although no fridge in the room, there was fresh milk (and jugs) in the fridge on the landing just a few steps away. The location is perfect for Brecon town centre - just a few minutes walk away. Onsite parking is always good, but be warned if you have a large/wide car you'll struggle to get thought the gates and manoeuvre in the yard.

I found the bathroom quite awkward as it was under the eves with a sloping ceiling making the room quite dark (no natural light) and the light fitting wasn't directional, there was no mirror at eye level making it really awkward to do what I needed to do. I'm fairly tall, so it may not be an issue for other people. There's not much clothes storage and no drawers/shelves just a few hooks and hangers on the back of the door.

A Fantastic Stay.

A wonderful stay, enhanced by Gail's helpfulness and enthusiasm for the area. On arrival, she helped us park in the hotel car park. Worth noting that the entrance is quite small so only appropriate for ordinary cars. Her suggestions for eating out - the Gorkha and Khukuri was exceptional and we would never have found it without her help. The breakfasts were wonderful and Gail was always prepared to go the extra mile.

A lovely b and b in the heart of Brecon owned by a friendly and interesting couple.

The property is really old and full of character. We were upgraded to a larger room on arrival which was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and kept us going for the whole day. We chatted to Gail and Kevin, the owners who were so lovely and interesting. Gail couldn’t have been more accommodating. We both enjoyed our stay there so much and we cannot recommend it more highly. Thank you Gail for being such a wonderful host.

Our stay at The Borderers was short but sweet. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

The location was central and historic. The proprietress, Gail, is a delight and could not have done more to accommodate us and make us welcome. The breakfast was excellent and included a delicious Glamorgan veggie sausage we had not come across before.

Nothing that I can think of given the convenience of location, the warmth of the hospitality and the very reasonable cost of accommodation.

Kindness can make a stay feel special

Gail couldn’t do enough for us, she knew we were walkers and even got up early to do breakfast one day as we were climbing Pen Y Fan on a sunny day. Beautiful lady

The B&b is obviously an old coaching inn, the doorway for the cars to drive through is tight for a large car like ours, Gail was brilliant getting us in and out but the last night we parked round the corner as it was a bit stressful.

Love the location .Close to shops and restaurants but on the main road. We asked to be put in the back room to avoid noise from the main road Breakfast was wonderful as i have ask for something new I was served indian breakfast for two mornings we were there.they were yummy and tasty My husband had traditional full english breakfast freshly cook by our lovely and friendly host Gail. They supply quality toiletries and fresh milk for your room

It was a beautiful old building but our room at the back was not for tall people. We are average height and my husband banged his head on the wooden beam twice. If you are taller than 5 foot 10 inches ask for a different room.

Fantastic place to stay

Clean, comfortable room and bed. Very secure parking (vans or big SUV's will struggle to get in) Good location a few minutes walk from the. Center of Brecon. Gail, the owner was very friendly and helpful. We stopped for the weekend for our 3rd wedding anniversary, Gail had made us a lovely cake to celebrate with.

Great value stay in old character building in Brecon

A great central location with free parking onsite, this characterful building is run by an exceptional host, Gail, for whom nothing was too much trouble. She had a wealth of local knowledge and ideas for days out locally, and treated us like a member of the family, going out of her way to provide amazing vegan food at breakfast as well as the traditional fare. It was handy having a small fridge for guest use for milk and other small items, and our room was comfortable. Brecon had many places to eat and drink, shops, a cinema and theatre, and is a great base from which to explore the Brecon Beacons. The local Aldi is just behind the borderers and is good to source pack-up lunch or snacks. Nice toiletries were provided in the accommodation.

Our room had little storage if staying for more than a few days, but did have space under the bed for cases/holdalls/rucksacks, as well as a cupboard with hanging rail. The parking access is through the building, which being old is quite narrow if you have a wide/large car.

We had an amazing stay at the Borderers. Gail the land lady was marvellous, what a lovely lady, she couldn’t do enough for us, and made sure we had everything we needed. Breakfast was full English and “wow” it was beautiful and plenty of it. Gail offered pancakes, poached eggs anything you wanted. Plenty of tea and coffee. The room was lovely, the inn is very old and is evident with beautiful beams everywhere. The bed was comfortable we slept well. Highly recommended Thank you Gail.

The most outstanding feature of our visit was the genuine warmth, friendship and total enthusiasm our host Gail had.

Exceptional

An excellent location, right in the heart of Brecon, but not too close to the centre of town as to be noisy. Bedroom and bathroom were perfectly sized for a couple, incredibly clean, well looked after and very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing, the perfect portion size, and with a really good variety of options and customisation. Gail is incredibly knowledgeable about Brecon, with loads of recommendations - I'd take her up on her advice! We will definitely be returning!

Fun weekend in a fabulous historic building with great hospitality

Gail is an exceptional hostess - very kind and interesting to talk to and knows how to make a great vegan breakfast. Brecon is an interesting town and the inn is well placed for exploring it. We enjoyed visiting the theatre, cathedral and museum/art gallery (all of which are minutes away on foot), going on a canal ride, and wandering around looking at some of the historic buildings, many of which have plaques.

Behaviour of some other guests was less than ideal one night - Gail very kindly made me a takeaway breakfast so I could catch up with lost sleep

An excellent choice for exploring the Beacons

Our stay at Borderers was a delight. Gail was so incredibly welcoming and eager to please and meet our every need. She was brimming with recommendations for exploring the area and always was there with a smile. The building itself was so cute and quaint.

Bed was a bit firm. We stayed on a Friday and Sat and quite hot with no air con, so we had to leave the window open, but struggled to sleep due to the party-goers. Perhaps having a fan could have been ok, but to be fair, we didn't ask for one.

Perfect in everyway.

The honesty and hospitality of the staff. They explained in detail about the car park. It is suitable for small cars and motorbikes. The fact that they no longer offer to tidy rooms during guest stays etc. They did as advised, check that i needed anything during my stay. The room was spotless. They also explained that each room is different due to the incredible age of the property. I am not able to manage steps, but i had booked an upstairs room, without realising. They offered to find me a different property to stay at, in case they couldn't accommodate me in a ground floor room( which they did).

Borderers guest house Brecon town.

Gail the owner was fabulous, she couldn't do enough for you. What a lovely lady. The room was outstandingly clean, bed linen, quilt and pillows were of very good quality. The double bed was really comfortable. At breakfast you could have cereals, hot toast, jam conserves, orange juice, tea/coffee, full cooked breakfast, with a choice of poached/fried/scrambled eggs, on a hot plate. No trouble at all to have a vegetarian breakfast for my partner. You couldn't ask for a nicer place. The owner gail made you feel welcome as soon as you arrived. Will definately be staying there again. Secured Parking on site also.

Leaving as we both had a fabulous weekend.
