Disappointing
The location. The attached spa.
No curtains/blinds in bathroom. The room was shabby.

expensive room for a basic hotel.. for the price I would expect quality hot food.
Staff lovely.. but did not ask once dor feed back so guessing my comments will not come as a surprise to them.. Room was comfortable with lovely size hot shower. Chips were lovely Scrambled and poached eggs were perfect Variety of breakfast items was good
Flat cushions on bed had to boost with scatter cushions. Small Ancient tv with no usb or smart functions Food.. Waited an hour for an steak awful.. tasted like it had been frozen not fresh.. which was overcooked and grizzly so could only eat half of it Breakfast.. bacon overcooked and hard and sausages were tasteless...

The stay was just ok. I would not recommend it and would not return. The Town was worth visiting.
The Breakfast and meals were good. The choice of the Spa is a bonus, and the Hotel is situated in a quiet and scenic location. The staff were helpful and polite.
Finding the staff was a problem at times, it appears that a minimum number are employed at this Hotel. There was damage to the entrance step of the Hotel and loose floor tile at the side of the Property.

It suited our purpose.
Breakfast was very good.we did not participate in dinner as we were at an event.Staff we’re very friendly and helpful.
The outside of the building is tired and needs attention. The paving stones on the steps to the front door are broken or cracked which could prove a danger. Inside some of the carpets in the corridors are showing some wear but other than that everything was fine. We didn’t use the spa so I’m unable to comment.

The stay was absolutely fine for the £86 paid, but would not have merited full price.
The building throughout is generally very elegant, i assume reflecting the tastes of the previous owners as the hotel changed hands recently. The room was spacious, comfortable and well heated. A bathrobe was provided. The food was tasty and well cooked. I booked last minute and got a very good deal on the room rate. I would have been unhappy if i had paid full price.
There was no-one at reception when i arrived and no bell, so I stood around a few minutes waiting to be attended to after a long drive in bad weather. Bedroom carpet had stains that could have been easily removed with a carpet shampooer. The bed side lights only partially worked. The toilet had staining in the bottom of the pan. Towels were roughly placed on the bathroom windowsill, so i wasn't initially sure if they had been used. The shower anti-slip mat wasn't very clean. At dinner i selected "chicken curry with rice & naan" from the menu, but was told quite abruptly it was rice or naan when it was clear to see what the menu stated. Breakfast was very slow to arrive (around 25 minutes) An adjacent table of 5 said they had waited over half an hour. The bread for toast was cheapy supermarket white/brown sliced. There was no-one at reception at departure with whom to raise my complaints, hence why they are recorded here.

Not like it looks in the website
Location was near to where I was working
Nothing like what you see on the website. Dated, smelt and overpriced for what you got
