Loved the grounds

The location, the grounds, the staff. It was just a pleasant place to stay also the dog was well catered for with both a bed and bowl provided.

We stayed in the grange which is looking a little tired.

Location was good and the bed was very comfortable albeit it was two singles put together. The food and breakfast was also good.

Some areas looked unkept and need revamping but most of it was good. There was no towel rails in the bathroom, no toilet brush and we did not get the room cleaned as there was an issue I believe with staff.

Local environment. Bath towels. Staff were polite.

Advert suggests you stay in the heritage building but the majority of rooms are in ugly more modern facilities in the back or remotely in the grounds. Room smelled of damp and/ or cigarettes, it was tired and worn. Peeling paint on walls and ceiling. Dust in corners. Bath leaked in two places. Shower didn't work and wasn't fixed when reported. Iron but no ironing board present in room. Back door to outside was unlocked and not able to be secured unless locked from the outside. Breakfast layout was odd so had to go hunting for food and a place to sit. Food quality was average.
