We attended an afternoon event and decided to stay the night so it was convenient.

We were not aware that the bar facilities were closed at 6pm until we arrived. We would have liked to have a drink in the bar in the evening

we were stuck in passport queue for ages off the spanish ferry, but I phoned the hotel and they gave me instructions of how to get in as the would be closed. Very helpful, and a good breakfast in the morning

Ridiculously hot room - no attempt had been made to keep sun out in a heatwave when we checked in they told us our room will be hot! and just a pitiful fan. Restaurant lacked any atmosphere. Limited menu, had run out of steak at 7.30 on. Saturday despite restaurant having only two other diners! We knew the price of the room when booking due to Goodwood Festival of Speed being on that weekend BUT for £250 per night had expected something better than a basic room, no aircon, no bottled water or fridge - nothing better than a Premier Inn - although even they have air con! And disappointingly poor pub grub. They are just profiteering with a 150% mark up!! Especially as it’s a 30min drive to Goodwood so not particularly close! Would not stay here again.
