A lovely hotel, great value for money for the location, the staff and the premises themselves.

I switched to this property after a disappointing booking, at a place which could not help us with our luggage (they could not keep for the day after our stay and that put a spanner in our activities and forced to book another place). So I did not know the hotel. But what a stay! The location, for someone arriving by train, but even someone just wanting to enjoy the beauty of Antwerp, could not have been beat. The room was bright, airy, pleasant and big...it was restful and just so nice. The beds were comfy and the decoration was relaxing and just...really nice. I loved it. The breakfast was good, the staff were incredibly helpful and the location was just the best for people wishing to dip into the nightlife of the city, without needing to take a bus, tram or taxi to come back. Just fabulous.

Breakfast overpriced and hard to get some sleep

Lot of plumbing noise in the middle of the night, bacon was missing from the breakfast 2 days in a row so only warm food was eggs and beans.

Great location, mediocre room, bad hygiene

Great location near Central Station, metro, shops and restaurants. The room had an empty fridge for storing food, which was useful. Overall, the surroundings and convenience were the main positives of the stay.

Surprised that the coffee capsules are only provided for one use, and any additional have to be bought for 1 eur a capsule. The coffee machine area is very very dusty, probably not cleaned in a while. The latch on our window was broken therefore the window stayed a little bit ajar and the AC wasn't working. The noises from the corridor are very well heard, there is absolutely no noise proofing in the room. The additional pillows in the closet had hair and dirt on pillowcases, so we did not dare use them. The blanket sheets and some towels were also stained, but I guess they smelled clean, so hopefully just old stains. The bathroom and toilet room are in separate rooms, which is a nice idea, but the toilet room is so small, you have to squeeze in to close the door. Overall, the room felt kind of dirty and dusty. Bathroom had black mold.

It was an awesome stay!

It was a nice big room. Very clean. The location was awesome... Close by everything... shops, restaurants, public transport,... But the room itself was very quiet. You don't hear anything from the busy street life.

The only tip I would recommend, please change the door turn in the private toilet. This is a bit difficult.

Very disappointing, overwhelmingly not good value for money. There are better choices

Location good

Room very small and bathroom tiny, separated by ridiculous glass door which made it very unpleasant for personal need. Tiny wardrobe and no room to move around. Expect better - this is not a budget hotel and it has 4* rating, which I think it misleading. The lift also didn't work (no indication of an alternative). Breakfast poor - if you advertise it from 7.30am it needs to be ready at 7.30am At 7.45 lots of stuff not ready, we asked for mile for cereal and got a carton of lukewarm UHT milk plonked on the side. Just not good enough.

Great location, great staff, could be cleaner.

Staff were great, we had an issue with one room and they immediately upgraded our room for us, it was a nice bonus. Location was excellent, right in front of the Zoo and the Main station.

The rooms were clean, but all the decor and corridors were dusty and many cobwebs. I think the cleaning staff could pay some attention to the corridors now and again. 1 elevator was broken so it made movement in the hotel a little difficult.

Ok hotel in a good location

Breakfast was ok. The food is situated in a very small space which makes it uncomfortable when a large volume of people are there. Also many things ran out so it meant several trips up to the buffet to get what you wanted

The toilet in our room was not pleasant. It was in need of a thorough clean sadly.

clean and convenient hotel for short stays

The location is very good, close to lots of restaurants, attractions and just outside of train station. Check in was not smooth, I think they don’t allow before 3pm even if the rooms are ready. They also insisted to have less than three euro city tax upon arrival, which was not welcoming. My room and the bathroom were clean and good size but the toilette was separate. The bed was comfy but the pillows very loose and not comfortable. Wi-fi was good and air conditioning was excellent. Breakfast was very good but breakfast room was not in good location and had no windows or natural light. I recommend the hotel for short stays.

Don’t stay here unless you are desperate- it more like a hostel than a hotel and definitely not worth what you pay.

The location near the station is very convenient.

It’s more like a hostel than a hotel. The carpets in the corridors are disgustingly dirty and smell like a public toilet. Tacky plastic plants in reception and really bad decor. The bedding and towels are very old and in poor condition . You get 2 small towels and then you are told it’s a green hotel so you have to request cleaning and unless you go through some process to do this, you don’t get any new towels and the towels don’t dry in the room. I had a horrible room in the back of the building overlooking a wall - it didn’t look like the picture on booking.com - the windows looked like they had not been cleaned for years and there was damp in the bathroom. It was more like a prison cell than a hotel room.

Fantastic location, clean, well equipped room, great customer service.

The location is absolutely perfect. As close to the Central Station as you can get. The room was modern, clean, the bed was very comfortable. I was able to check in 1.5h before the official time as as upgraded to a better room by the very kind man in the reception desk.

As others have mentioned the room was a little stuffy.

the lobby offers free juice and apples, plus the smile of the hostess upon arrival the room space is big and very comfy the breakfast was diverse enough but sadly no many option for drinks such as milk, almond milk and juices the gym facility is nice

the perfume smell into the room , i needed to open window to let fresh air in the room doors make a lot of noises when closing and opening, sadly no many option as drinks for the breakfast no clean towel or water in the gym facility

Best Value Hotel in Antwerp

The staff were always helpful and friendly, I got upgraded after checking in to a suite! It was super comfortable and spacious. TV upstairs and down, free water, coffee machine. The hotel is near station, near halaal and non halaal restaurants, atms, centrum. Easy access to metro also. All round fantastic hotel.

The lights did not work downstairs but I didn't spend much time there. The wifi was extremely spotty upstairs. But works downstairs.

Good option to explore Antwerp

Good position, very close to the main central station of Antwerp. In 25 minutes walk you can reach the city center or you can just take the tram nearby. The room was clean and very large.

It's almost impossible to open the windows and the A/C temperature and the fan speed cannot be modify and so the room is very warm or too cold.

For breakfast I don't think there was any vegan option other than peanut butter and jelly, and some tired fruit salad. No central next-to-bed light control. Weak wi-fi signal.

The layout of the rooms was more akin of a Rabbits Burrow than a safely designed hotel . Access and route to the rooms through narrow passage with short stairs up and down .

Leonardo Hotel was close to the train station and lovely restaurants. The studio room was clean, warm and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Staff were friendly. We loved how close the hotel was to the attractions especially the shops, the cathedral and Grote markt.

Weekend getaway.

Easy check in, receptionist spoke to us slowly and clearly. Nice room, great location, yummy breakfast and check out as well easy. Perfect for a couple of nights, the location is great!

There seemed to be a smell of sewer throughout the hotel at times and in the room, however opening the windows for a bit quickly eased it, nothing major that bothered.

A disappointment and a potential health hazard

The location was pretty nice. It was close to most restaurants and shops in the city center, so there's always something to do.

When we got there on the check-in date, the receptionist told us that that the check-in time was at 3pm. Though we got there a little early, the tone used wasn't really appreciated, especially when the message said that sometimes an early check-in is possible after 12pm. We were basically told to "read the email better", when the email clearly stated 2pm. When we finally got there closer to 3pm, we were told that the room wasn't ready yet and were asked if we wanted another room instead, which had to be "emergency cleaned". We were forced to wait another hour-and-a-half in the lobby with all of our baggage, but at least the receptionist was nice enough to offer us a few drinks on the house as an apology. Sadly, things didn't end there. The room was a 2 floor room. The bottom floor had no air conditioning and the shower door wouldn't close for some reason, no matter how hard we tried (open-door showers were a thing for those two days). The "air condition unit" on the second floor was just air from a ventilation shaft, which was unbearably loud. Furthermore, one day into our two-day stay, we found out that the upstairs bed had bed bugs in it. The two family members upstairs would wake up every day with nasty bed bug bites that itched like crazy with no mosquitos in sight. It wasn't until the next day that one of the two people sleeping upstairs found one of the culprits, dead on the sheets followed by a tiny trail of blood (a photo will be added to show said scene). While we paid 275 euros for a two night stay at this place and didn't really expect the world of the Leonardo Hotel, our experience made us wish that we'd scooped an extra 200 euros on top of that price for a somewhat more decent experience somewhere else. All of the aforementioned problems could have been ignored, but the bed bugs issue is a major health concern.

Nice but...

Great location and it was clean. Very cool design.

The air conditioning didn't work, since it leaked. They told us they would fix it, but they didn't, so they turned it off. Also, the shampoo and soap ran out fast, we asked for more, but they gave us another one that wasn't completely full or new, so it ran out fast for the second time. Also, we could hear everything from our room.
