NH Amsterdam Zuid

Lovely hotel, with really friendly, helpful staff.

Beautiful, modern, clean hotel. Wonderful variety at breakfast buffet. The manager greeted us and asked how we were enjoying our stay.

I stayed at NH Amsterdam Zuid from November 14 to 22 and this was by far the most disappointing hotel experience I have had in Amsterdam. I visit this hotel several times a year and always expected a certain level of professionalism and security. What happened this time was simply unacceptable. One night we accidentally left a suitcase outside our room. By the next morning it was gone. When we approached the staff, there was no urgency, no real concern, and no willingness to help. We kept asking throughout the day if they had checked the cameras or made any effort to find out what happened. Every time the answer was the same vague line that they were still looking into it. Eventually the shift manager told us that they cannot check anything and that if we want answers we should go to the police. This was the official response from a hotel that advertises itself as high standard and located in one of the safest areas of Amsterdam. Instead of support or accountability, we got excuses and a complete dismissal of responsibility. We were even told that the hallways are a public area, so it is not their problem. I came to this hotel trusting that my stay and my belongings would be secure. Instead, I was left with the feeling that the hotel simply does not care. As a guest who stays here multiple times a year, I expected at least the minimum effort. Unfortunately, it became clear that the hotel does not respect its returning customers and offers no real assistance when something goes wrong. People considering this hotel should be aware that if anything happens to your belongings inside the hotel, you will likely be left on your own. The attitude, the lack of responsibility, and the unwillingness to take action were shocking. I will not be returning after this experience that for sure. NH you lost a returning customer!

very clean

I had a double room consisting of two single beds that were pushed together. Unfortunately, the beds were not fixed to each other, so they kept moving apart during the night, which was very uncomfortable. In addition, I was not informed that room cleaning had to be requested in advance. As a result, I did not receive any cleaning during my entire stay and had to use the same towel throughout.

Location was good

The hotel room was really cold. Heating control did not work. Even when turning heating temperature up it was still blowing cold air.

They don’t have like gym

The staff is very polite and professional, the room was quite good and clean, the gym is good, there is also the sauna available. Very good breakfast in terms of food and quality of service. The location is great, just few mins walk to Gelderlandplein shopping mall and not far from Amsterdam Zuid station. There's also a bicycle rental service. Highly recommended!

Nothing!

Room and breakfast were what you would expect from a 4* hotel. Everything went smooth and they actually were nice to let me work in the room until 1PM (extended checkout). The location was close to a pretty nice park which i imagine would be nice to bike in. The fact that it was not in the city center helped me get some actual sleep for a change :)
