Perfect location across the street from Copacabana Beach, within walking distance of many restaurants, shops and other hotels. Great rooftop bar and pool, though the weather was not the best when we were there. Amazing breakfast room with beach views and wonderful selections of fruit, breads, cheeses, meats, pastries, etc. Very friendly and helpful staff, comfortable lobby area. Loved our sea view room with balcony and cozy comfy king bed, wonderful bathroom and shower, also we had a nice sitting area with a sofa and table. Very comfortable.
Tiny often slow elevator

This hotel shouldn’t be booked by anyone. The hotel caught fire at the 16.2.2026 we stayed at the room and the fire alarm in the whole hotel didn’t worked out. There were floors full of smoke. The manager of the hotel didn’t reacted well, people were sitting in the lobby during a fire was going on and they didn’t took it serious till the first came and said what’s going on. Several times during the night the electricity was broken.

The location, good breakfast, the pool area was nice but it was raining so we couldn’t really enjoy it.
Even though we were on 11th floor you could hear everything from the street the noise from outside and music from restaurants. Also didn’t like being harassed by ladies outside entrance of building every evening where security should be more stern as many other guests said same to me.
The elevators are small and slow.

Reception very friendly
Location, near everything
balconies
Rooftop Pool, nobody cares about things like putting used towels away, also when people block sunbeds, staff do only. one: serve food and drinks, for sure thats money, staff was also not friendly
gym: air condition work only on one side. the only multifunctional machine is in a tight corner that only 1 Person. can use it.
Different prices in online menu and printed one. for sure they charged me the more expensive
Elevators are horrible, so long waiting times and then staff block it sometimes for their one us (even they have searate one). i lived in New York, but thats awful
Room very old furniture and water all the time out of somewhere in bathroom
Price Value-Relation not ok

The location is really good, literally in front of the beach. They have a nice swimming pool on the top as well. Rooms are spacious with nice terrace and big beds.
It definitely needs renovation. The hotel has that specific smell, like humid smell and it can be smelled everywhere. Breakfast is good, you can find a lot of different foods but they never change it. I have stayed for 9 nights, everyday food was the same.

Smart hotel on Copacobana beach. Not too big, unlike many here. Fabulous roof top with stunning views to Sugarloaf Mountain, right along Copacobana beach, & to Christ the Redeemer further away. The bar is a fun place for a sundowner or a dip in the small pool. I didn't realise til our last day: there is a dry sauna up on the gym floor (21); I think you have to give notice to get it hot.
Our room was spacious, had loads of storage, a huge comfy bed & a lovely balcony. We chose a more modest side sea-view room, but were upgraded (a bonus) to the 18th floor. (The rooftop bar & pool are on the 20th floor.) We could see Christ the Redeemer from one side of the balcony & the beach from the other! Inside the room we had a city view, so be aware. Our room was 1808. The higher the floor (eg 18) the better the view. The lower the number on each floor (each starts at XX00 or XX01, I think, up to XX09) the closer you are to the fuller sea views, for which of course you pay more.) Higher numbers eg XX07-09) have more side-views.
The 5th floor breakfast (& restaurant) were beautiful - bright, modern, with wide windows looking both ways along the beach. Every table has a nice view! Breakfast was extensive, with local & international choices - fresh juices, fruit, pastries, continental meats/cheese/smoked salmon, cooked options, etc. There was also sparkling wine on offer every day. A treat!
We had an excellent dinner on our first night - very modestly priced for the quality, with nice wines on the menu too. We also had an excellent roof top bar lunch on our last day, with generous & delicious salads.
On our last day we had an evening flight, & were easily enabled to check out, retain one e-key for using the lift to the pool & to enjoy the facilities until our taxi. (The hotel was full so could not offer a day rate.)
Staff were fab, esp'y helping retrieve a lost property item from a previous hotel. Thank you!
My only small comment is that the acoustic in the breakfast room/restaurant is quite bright/echoey - it's a lovely setting, but has no soft fabrics/furnishings to absorb noise. It's a "busy sounding" place to eat when full for breakfast, but very nice nonetheless.

Sea view, breakfast, location on copabana beach
We paid for a sea view top floor room but ended up with 16th floor. Room seemed small and out of date for the price.

Beach set-up was fantastic - it didn’t feel as sanitised / private (obviously as the beach itself is public) which was nice. The staff were excellent - thank you Caio and Leo!
Bar food was good.
Restaurant food was exceptional quality, and the staff were very friendly.
Reception staff were lovely.
Bedding was super comfortable - loved the Scandinavian duvet set up.
Bathroom was excellent - body lotion etc.
These are not big notes, just genuine feedback. Maybe it’s impossible to match the PortoBay “boutique” style in a 20 floor Copacabana city hotel, but I think some of it can be easily addressed.
The sliding balcony doors were very difficult to work, felt like they easily let breeze in unless it was perfectly locked.
Restaurant service was mixed. We ate two nights, the first at around 19:15 and the second at 20:30. Our experience the first night was great but the second was quite mixed. I’m guessing due to the slightly later time the tables had been set for breakfast - however 20:30 is not late for a Brazilian dinner and even if you wish to set for breakfast, just leave the window tables set up for dinner.. you’ll have to reset after we use the cutlery anyway:
- cotton napkin in a wooden ring holder replaced by a tissue napkin
- wooden placemat replaced by paper placemat.
- no wine glasses set
It just wasn’t a very nice experience. It was compounded by the waiter forgetting several things, e.g. ice and lemon in sparkling water, even though it was specifically requested.
The room was missing some basic things:
- luggage rack
- no complimentary water or local snack
- there were no coffees, just 2x camomile and 2x black tea. These were never replaced and on the last night we went to make 2 cups of tea but only had one teabag between us..
The coffee/tea station in general seemed to get completely overlooked - twice we had dirty cups left unreplaced.
Keep a water fountain in the lobby. The gym is on the 20th floor. It also just means the vibe is brought down as you have people drinking from big 1.5L bottles at the pool since they can’t refill.
The lifts are a pain. Spent a lot of time waiting. Ground floor, fifth floor restaurant, twentieth floor pool. Being on the 12th felt eternally like we were waiting to go down.
At one point the bar staff were loudly opining on European issues with migration.

In the room you could hear when people are in the hall.

The location and the team. Particularly Tiago has been very helpful
I made a reservation for a room with a balcony and a side sea view. The room was the one most remote from the beach and the view was the building in front of me. I had make an extra effort, even at the balcony, to view the sea. There were no other available rooms and upgrading to a room with a full sea view was highly expensive. No room with a “side view” allows viewing the sunrise, I wouldn’t pay the extra cost for this room type

We loved the friendly staff, who gave us a very warm welcome, the extremely comfy beds, the tasty breakfast and of course the location. You couldn't wish for a better spot to be when in Rio, right in front of Copacabana and with a lovely pool and terrace overlooking the beach and the Christ the Redeemer.
Nothing, everything was amazing! Couldn't put any fault to the place.

Very efficient staff, all friendly staff. The reception staff were very helpful and also gave good advice when we asked them questions. The room was comfortable and still had a good view of the beach.
The hotel is central to a lot of great restaurants and 45 mins walking distance from Ipanema beach and restaurants.
Would definitely be back, we visited in the winter season (August) so will be back before the summer heat begins.
The restaurant staff were attentive, i regret I didn't ask the name of the staff who was very helpful and friendly.
The shower temperature was difficult to control and the Manuel shower head kept moving around when on.

One of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. Service and room cleaning were very poor, the breakfast was disappointing, and even basic facilities like a coffee machine were missing. There was a lot of noise from other rooms, making it feel like you’re not in your own room. Also, it was disappointing that drinking water wasn’t provided for free, unlike most hotels around the world.
I stayed there for five days, and during all five days the room remained full of sand and the sheets were never changed, despite asking the cleaning staff and even giving a tip. Very disappointing!

Location and the staff in the lobby & reception.
The breakfast was included in the rate according with the guy making our check-in however the lady at the breakfast room had other information that it was not. She refused allowing me to have the breakfast only if I sign the charge for it. I refused to confront her & decided not to have it during my stay.

Breakfast was great, although it was very crowded on some peak hours. the sapce in the restaurant is not big enough some times. Beach service very friendly
The room was a little noisy at night. AC did not heat, on winter nights in Rio, you might need higer temperature for spleeping. Balcony has no view

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, room was spacious and very clean and comfortable. The breakfast room was beautiful and the pool had great views of copacabana, Cristo Redentor and the Sugar Loaf mountain.
There is also a beach service where you get some deck chairs on Copacabana outside the hotel and they will get your drinks and food and can watch your things while you go for a swim.
Not many sunbeds in the sun but might be the winter sun.

The hotel offers all support for beach families fun like, sun umbrella, towels, chairs, toys. You can order food and drinks while relaxing in the beach and they bring from the hotel restaurant to you.
The roof top has good a pool and amazing bar.
It was a perfect stay.

The hotel is in a fantastic location right next to the famous Copacabana Palace and right on the world-famous beachfront.
The staff were all superb, spoke multiple languages and were all extremely accommodating for us and our baby daughter. Particularly, we want to say thank you to Wellington and Carlinho from the breakfast restaurant team and also the receptionist team who allocated us a great room on a high floor as we requested and provided a baby cot with good mattress which was so important for our daughter.
The hotel has a lovely rooftop pool bar with amazing views over Rio, you can see Sugarloaf Mountain and Christ the Redeemer. The sunbeds are comfortable and the prices of drinks are really good value.
The hotel was really clean and the breakfast was excellent with super views from the restaurant over the beach.
The hotel has complimentary beach chairs/umbrellas and beach concierge which is a huge bonus.
It was also great for us that check out is generously at 12:00 and we could store bags while waiting for a late flight. We stayed a total of 5 nights.
The pool could be bigger but this is the case for most of the hotels on the beachfront!

Size of room great, the balcony with a view was nice, the beding was great and the view for breakfast. The ladies at breakfast and the gentlemen serving coffee was so good.
One gentlemen at breakfast snobbish. The breakfast was basic basic so little variety. Barely any veg options.
