Anna Suites Ipanema by Arena Hotéis

The hotel was in a great location, right between Copacabana Beach and Ipanema Beach. These areas and around the hotel are both very safe with a strong police presence to give residents and tourists security and comfort. There are so many bars and restaurants nearby for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Breakfast in the hotel was great with plenty of fresh fruit, breads, cooked food and sweet treats. The cooked food was typically Brazilian which was great. Staff from the hotel were all extremely friendly and pleasant. The security guard and porters especially were fantastic and always happy to see us. The apartment (and the hotel) was very clean and serviced each day with the beds made up and fresh towels. The facilities in the apartment were all clean and worked well including two fairly new air conditioners, one in the living space/ kitchen and one in the bedroom. The bathroom was fairly new too and had a generously sized walk-in shower with a powerful water supply. We had a hire car with us and there are around 7 spaces available for the apartments. These areas are accessible right next to the apartment entrance and the staff at the hotel were happy to come out to open the electronic gate as we came and went. We were really happy with the accommodation all round. It worked out around £125 per night which, for a full apartment including breakfast and free parking, was reasonable. It’s not obvious where the Anna Apartments are until you’re actually there. The Arena Hotel next door has purchased a number of apartments in the building next door so you check in at the hotel and then head next door to your apartment. All the hotel’s facilities are available to use including the rooftop bar and the pool. You also go into the hotel for the buffet breakfast. To be expected in a city like Rio, there were no views out the windows which were just looking directly at building walls on both sides. This was expected when we booked so not an issue. Great stay!

The location is perfect for the beach, safer than copacabana, the staff is great, nice and helpful. The apartments are next to the hotel, breakfast is taken in the hotel.

The area was very close to the beach. Comfortable bed. Good security. Lovely staff and pool area

Very noisy from surrounding buildings and other properties in the building. We found a pair of old pants under the bed!
