Beautiful hotel with nice facilities but a few things let us down

Bed was really comfy, good range of food at breakfast and spa was very nice. The rooftop pool isa really nice addition with a beautiful view

I'm celiac and there were biscuits in the designated gluten free section that were not gluten free. I had already eaten one biscuit and was ill as a consequence. I had to notify 3 different members of staff (both receptionists and wait staff) before they were moved. Also we asked for a day trip recommendation and we were told to take the ferry to lazice and we're given the timetable. We walked the hour to the port at Desenzano and then we found out there are no ferry's going out of season.

Great stay!

Everything was great, the breakfast was great too.

We have a Scottish shower in the bathroom … cold then very hot … unable to get a stable temperature. Location is far from the restaurant but quieter too.

Great staff, super breakfast.

I travel as a disabled traveller. This was not our first stay at The Palace Hotel. It’s clean, well placed and comfortable. The staff are awesome and really helpful. The breakfast is wonderful. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The air conditioning is a welcome feature.

The toilets are too high! Though the hotel is a non smoking hotel people do smoke on the balconies, there are ashtrays outside. Cigarette smoke often triggers migraines for me so if our neighbours are smokers we can’t use the outside space freely and have to close the door. It may seem like a minor thing but it does impact our stay.

unfortunately the experience did not meet our expectations, especially considering the price (200€ per night). • The WiFi connection was extremely weak, and in some areas it did not work at all. • The breakfast was very poor, with limited options, and the coffee was truly disappointing. • The AC/ventilation system made a constant humming noise during the night, disturbing our sleep. • The furniture was outdated, and the room felt very basic, nowhere near the standard of a luxury hotel. • There was a noticeable lack of genuine hospitality from the parking attendant, which left a negative impression. • The elevator had an unpleasant smell, adding to the overall discomfort. Overall, the hotel felt overpriced and underwhelming, offering basic conditions at a luxury rate. Definitely not worth the price charged.

Beautiful hotel, well run, perfect couples get away

This was my second time staying at the hotel, it’s beautifully clean, run well and the facilities are top class. The spa was free and we could use every day, roof top pool is also now free. Perfect get away for us as part of a longer holiday around Italy, we didn’t want to leave.

Noisy children, we were in a spa hotel and we didn’t expect children to be waking us up every morning at 6am screaming and running around, also children using the roof top pool and dive bombing repeatedly, this was the only aspect of the hotel that isn’t really what I would have liked for the money spent. Well behaved children would have been fine.

Lovely, clean hotel. Facilities were good with complimentary mini bar (non-alcoholic). Pools looked good but didn’t get a chance to use them.

Hotel was beautiful. Rooms immaculate and toiletries in bathroom nice quality. Swimming pools great. Staff very helpful . Breakfast catered for everyone Bike hire for 10 euros per person.

The hotel is out of the centre of desenzano. We caught a bus in on our first evening however buses back stopped at 9. There was no taxis back so we had to ring the hotel to help us. They managed to get a taxi to us but said that taxis can be sparse. The next day we hired bikes from the hotel to explore .

Wonderful break

Hotel was very comfortable, clean and pools and spa amazing. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The grounds were very well maintained. Great selection at breakfast and lunch menu was very good.

The walk into Desenzano town took around 50 minutes and sometimes taxis were difficult to book. Would have been nice to have had an evening menu option at hotel but there were a few excellent restaurants nearby.

Relaxing & convenient stop.

When you have a car, good parking, quieter area. Lovely pools, great breakfast, two lifts no waiting, easy unloading of car luggage, good air conditioning, refilling of fridge mini bar ( free ) comfortable beds, kettle in room with T & coffee, endless hot water!

Relaxing stay by the lake

The spa experience is truly amazing! The staff at the spa also extremely kond and helpful. Comfortable beds, fantastic breakfast with fres orange juice. We loved our stay and we will be back for sure.

Lovely stay.

Beautiful grounds, and a pool. Lovely lobby and bar. All rooms have a large balcony. The majority of the staff was really friendly and very helpful. One of the staff members showed us the bus stop etc. They do bike hire which is a lovely addition.

In regards to the bike hire. Bikes are not well maintained, we had an issue with one of them and as we weren't provided with any repair kit we had to ask other people for help. There is no iron in the room and they do not have an iron room. Instead you pay for the ironing service. The SPA was closed and we couldn't use it as we were not made aware that you have to pre book the treatment prior to arrival.

Gorgeous Lago di Garda stay

Fabulous hotel, highly recommend. Facilities, staff, all spot on. Lovely views from the large balcony. Nice breakfast. Would choose it again.

My mattress felt a bit lumpy and the bed squeaked when getting in and out (I'm not that huge). But it didn't spoil the stay in any way.

Lovely hotel, poor location.

- Rooms are large, clean and comfortable (if a little 'traditional' in decor). Also very quiet. - Breakfast was fantastic! Lots of choice, fresh and tasty. The two pool areas are lovely, and weren't very crowded whilst we were there. You do suffer from a little road noise though. - Staff were friendly and helpful.

- There is no evening food available! My fault as it did not read this until after I booked. I wouldn't have booked it in all honesty if I'd known as the 'local' restaurants are few and far between. You need to travel into a town for choice. There isn't even a supermarket for snacks anywhere near the hotel. - The location :-( I can't say it's in the middle of nowhere as it's along a busy main road between Sermione and Desanzano, but there is little of interest around it. The public transport is few and far between and very unreliable. You really need a car if you are to stay at this hotel. Such a shame as the hotel was lovely, just in the wrong location for us personally.

Very nice hotel a little far out of Desenzano.

We had a lovely room with a huge terrace. Very comfortable bed, lots of towels, good toiletries, and water and soft drinks in the minibar. Housekeeping staff were really good, and all hotel staff were very friendly. Great breakfast. Lovely main pool and nice rooftop pool too.

The hotel is 2.5km from Desenzano so you have to drive or walk 50 minutes to get into town. Difficult to get taxis back from town at night. The hotel could do with a shuttle bus to and from town.

It’s really a good hotel, fantastic view with 2 pools, the rooms are great and comfortable, the staff very helpful and friendly, If i would back to garda lake absolutely i will be in this hotel

The private parking was for money 15€ we parked outside the hotel and it was a stormy night with huge hail so many cars were heavily damaged if we park inside then there will be no damage to the car, that's the only negative thing, maybe you can take 5€ for the parking but I think that 4 starts hotel don't have to take money for parking from your guests
