An incredible experience and an unforgettable Birthday! The property is in a beautiful location surrounded by small shops and temples - make sure to visit all of these. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive. Property is wonderful mix of modern and traditional with stunning facilities, gardens and landscapes. We had the kaiseki dinner which was beautiful and great to try local offerings. Truly once in a lifetime.
I should have arrived even earlier to explore the town for longer!

The Japanese style ryokan was a nice experience and the food was great (especially the dinner)
The onsen are hot and comfy but really small and can only be used early in the morning or in the afternoon (9am to 3pm are for some reasons unavailable). Some of the staff is really polite some others aren’t, and we noticed the difference in which they treated Japanese vs foreigners. Maybe it s just a matter of culture but we found it somewhat odd. Overall it is really expensive in our opinion for the value offered.
