Yadoya Kyoto Shimogamo

The host was exceptional, beginning with a tea ceremony and toasted marshmallows! We loved that 2 of the beds are full height, not 6-8" off the floor. They are true Western beds. We had a choice of Western or traditional Japanese breakfast, which he brought to us the night before. The house is very comfortable and it's really interesting to live among all the Japanese collectibles. The washing machine/dryer worked well, and the house is close to a grocery store. The micro bubble bath tub is amazing. My skin is so soft after using it every night!

Loved everything!

Everything, as soon as we arrived we were welcomed by the host with a tea ceremony and taiyaki grilled on the small open fire area. The whole property was clean, tidy and we loved the little Japanese traditional features mixed with western comforts. The baths were run on arrival and it was so lovely after a busy day to get in the outside bath and relax. I can not fault the accommodation. We will definitely come and stay again. Also I forgot the morning bento boxes were stunning, just an amazing stay and memories made

Amazing house and great host. You can do your tea ceremony at home in the room with a samurai and the traditional fire. The owner is very welcoming and available for all needs you may have.

Just a bit far away from the city centre but the quarter was very calm and the bus worked well.

Großartiger Host! Aufmerksame, durchdachte, sehr ansprechende und hochwertige Ausstattung im traditionellen Stil. Mit Feuerstelle und allem, was man für eine Teezeremonie braucht. Sehr sorgfältig und mit viel Liebe eingerichtet. Zwei Bäder, beide mit Badewanne. Eines im japanischen und eines im westlichen Stil. Rollstuhlfreundlich. Barrierefrei. Leckeres traditionelles Frühstück. Im Vorort gelegen. Gut angebunden und ideal zum entspannen, nach einem langen Sightseeing Tag.

Es hat uns alles gefallen. Ideal für 4 Personen.
