Amazing breakfast but Terrible room

The personnel was excellent. The breakfast was amazing, rich and had a large boufet. Also the location was great, in the heart of the city

The room was really bad. Smelled badly, the wall had mold in some parts, and the water pressure in the shower was really weak.

Great staff, disappointing place

We loved the staff, they were so sweet and helpful and even gave us a complimentary bottle of prosecco on my birthday. If it was based on the staff alone, the review would be 10/10.

The “grandeur” of the hotel was obviously many decades ago, and everything was in dire need of paint and care. The first room we got, there were dark oil stains on the headboard from years of people leaning against it. The staff were understanding and we got a new room, which was slightly better. The bed was really uncomfortable and felt a bit like an airbed. The drapes were broken, and the breakfast was not worth it. It all has an air of forgotten. Quite a shame as the building itself has so much potential, we hope a refurbishment is in plans, the great staff who work hard there, deserve it.

All and all it was a very nice stay. But it is an older building which needs upgrades.

The location and staff were excellent and the suite was very large and well appointed. There was also a very nice Breakfast buffet.

Skip it if you are ok to be based out of the city centre

Great Location if you want to explore the city. Excellent staff and service.

Rooms were tiny, dated and really disgusting looking carpets. Even if it's a heritage property, atleast keep it up and keep it clean. I would never ever go back here.

Location, that it’s a historic building, staff are „here to support you“, I liked the staff, some great people there. Rossano especially.

Maintenance of things. Old building doesn’t mean you can’t have fresh paint on wooden surfaces like doors, windows, etc. Or that the doors work easily, without noise. That’s a thing of if you want this to work well or not. You’re missing a guy or gall who watches for all those things being in good shape, and just fix things. One well rounded person. …also card on bed to signal to NOT change the bed linen after night 1 of a 2 night stay is not efficiently written. There were 3 info cards next to the bed. Too much information in small text. I didn’t notice it. Was surprised my bed linen and towels in the bath was changed when I came back from Breakfast. Nice, but this is not how we fight for a healthy earth atmosphere. Not sustainable. Change card to big letters „YES“ to make customer actively activate changing linen service. Thank you! 💛

Fair price-quality ratio but renovation needed

Great location and very kind staff. The offer of the breakfast was beyond expectation.

The rooms and the corridors are in urgent need of renovation to keep up with the modern standards of a 4 star hotel. There was un unpleasant smell of old moquette in our room. Understaffed waiters at breakfast compromised the cleanliness of the tables between rounds of serving.

A nice historic hotel. Rooms need a refresh. Fabulous breakfast.

It was an old property with many historic features, including portraits of the family who,previously lived there. There was a courtyard and a beautiful gardens. It was quite close to shopping , Churches, cafes and restaurants. The breakfast was FABULOUS. The barroom was spacious, clean and bright.

The room was quite tired, the carpeting was dirty and needed to be replaced, the wall were scuffed and needed a good cleaning.

Lovely historic lobby with a fantastic location but the rooms are terrible.

The foyer and lobby were old school wonderful. I love the way it made me feel when we entered. Seeing a touch of history. The staff were great and very attentive. The location was brilliant and walkable to all the major spots.

The rooms are old. Very old. The carpet is frightening and the bathrooms from a different century. I wish the rooms were of a higher standard. I knew when I booked it they would not be great but I wasn’t prepared for how bad they were. The trade off is the price is reasonable.

Well located in the historical city center, this hotel needs upgrading

It is a well located hotel, in the historical center, short walking distance from the Duomo and major street (Via Emilia) with good shopping. There are good restaurants all around. The staff was nice. My room was looking in the back on a nice backyard, and quiet

The hotel needs to be refreshed seriously and upgraded. For example, my window was not closing firmly. Paint on the walls need to be redone. The AC worked but was a bit noisy. There were several night when people came back at 2 or 3 AM and were loud and inconsiderate, waking me up as I was struggling with jet lag. The shower cubicle was underwhelming. The beds were not of the highest quality. Electrical outlets were not easily accessible. The breakfast was OK but nothing to be remembered.

Good hotel if a little tired

Nice large room with a big bed. Great location close to the city centre, but just enough out to be quiet. Very grand entrance hall and first impressions.

Slightly faded splendor and tired, a little disappointing with 4 star hotel expectations. Some of the sockets in the bedroom were a bit loose and the extractor in the shower didn't work. No tea or coffee in our room.

The listing on Booking says free parking, but actually you have to book it and there are limited spaces. They will give you a permit to park on the road outside, but this is not specified until you book. They offered to bring the car in a kind of back enclosed space, but then billed me 23 euros for an outdoor parking space. The money is not an issue here, transparency is

Central location

This property claims to be 4 Star but compares poorly with comparable hotels in Bologna and Parma. It has a tired and empty feel and was in places grubby. The room lacked adequate sound insulation with a lot of noise from plumbing. In the Lobby, staff were heard making disparaging remarks about guests who they assumed did not speak Italian. Overall, the hotel appears to be poorly managed but could have potential to be much better
